Monday!

Man it is hot here! The summer heat has finally hit Southern California! And yesterday, I went all over looking for the last bit of clothes I need for conference and FAILED.

I do not take failure well. I should have stayed home, swam and read!

Oh and speaking of reading, I read an AWESOME book over the weekend.  This book won’t be released until February 2011, but it is going to be HUGE. I was blown away. And of course, it’s about witches! The book is:

VISIONS OF MAGIC: An Awakening Novel by Regan Hastings.

This book has it all: romance, adventure, witches, magic and immortal hunks.  It’s the whole package. I’ll be telling you more about this book as we get closer to the release date. And I’m sure we can get Regina to blog here with us.

As you guys know, I’ve been working on having this website expanded (all done, yay!) and I’ve been clearing other stuff off my desk. Soon I’ll start on a new Wing Slayer Hunter Synopsis for my agent and publisher to see if there will be any more books. I know a lot of this next story, but one main thread is eluding me.  For once, I’m not worried about it…probably because the upcoming RWA conference is distracting me.

Your turn now–how was your weekend? And are any of you going to the RWA Conference?

My weekend was busy and hot, but all in all pretty good. Had a family picnic and daughters All Star softball game on Saturday. Then Sunday cleaning, grocery shopping and stopped by my mom’s to help her set up her new computer. Sad to say but I won’t be attending the RWA Conference. Authors and their events never come anywhere close to where I live so that pretty much keeps me from attending anything. But I’m not complaining, I like where I live :-D .

Regan’s book sounds interesting, I’ve put it on my “check this one out” list, lol. I recently finished Demon Blood by Meljean Brook and Pray For Dawn by Jocelynn Drake. Working on Queen of Song & Souls by C L Wilson. All three are very good, but Jocelynn is the second author out of my fav’s to recently leave me with a cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers! I have absolutely no patience when it comes to cliffhangers, I want to know NOW, lol. Next up is Heart of Stone by C E Murphy.

Well witches maybe send some spells my way tomorrow for patience and energy. Hubby and I are taking my three kids, my sons best friend(who is like a son/brother to the family), and my daughters friend to Great Adventure for the day. It is daughters 15th B-Day surprise present, she has wanted to go for a long time, but keeping up with 5 teenagers is going to wipe us out, lol.

Val, you do need spells and chants, LOL!!! 5 teenagers? You’re very brave! I hope it’s a fun and fabulous day!

You’re so right on how these events are held. They have to be in venues that can handle it and so many parts of the country get left out.

Cliffhangers sometimes really frustrate me too!

Shopping and not finding what you want? Yeah, that really sucks :( Staying home to read would have been waayyy more fun.

I worked Friday night. Really not fun. I almost had to work Saturday night, but the extra flights that were supposed to come in got cancelled. Yea!! So instead I stayed home and tried to read. I just can’t seem to get interested in any of the books I have and haven’t yet read. *sigh* I finished Nalini Singh’s BONDS OF JUSTICE and loved it. I can’t wait for the next one. Oh, and I read REDEEMING THE WIZARD last week. I loved it :!:

VISIONS OF MAGIC…I love the title! And it’s not out til Feb? Guess I’ll have to wait a while before I can check it out, eh?

I hate shopping! I hate shopping when it’s 105 degrees and 80% humidity. If I wanted to live in a steam bath, I’d move to…somewhere. Sunday and today was mostly a bust, shopping-wise. Saturday was RWA chapter day. That’s always fun! A few of us gather early to chat and have lunch in the museum café before our afternoon program. We were doing a “Prep for Nationals” dealing with pitches, how to behave, any questions the first-timers had, etc.

I leave a week from tomorrow. Can’t wait to see you, Jen! I hope we can squeeze in some time to find a quiet spot and visit. I know I’ll see you Thursday night for a bit, at least.

And now, I need to get back to getting all my paperwork in order for next week. ACK! So much to do, so little time to do it! 8-O

I hate shopping. HATE IT, HATE IT, HATE IT. Did I mention I don’t like it very much? I’m sorry to hear you didn’t find what you were looking for though.

I feel your pain on the heat side of things. It was 113 degrees here on Saturday with over 30% humidity. It was super duper YUCKY! Try to stay cool.

My weekend was good even though it was sticky and gross. Uneventful even.

Of course there are going to be more WS books. How could there not be? Hello? Have they read these books?

Silver I know you’re swamped trying to get ready! Sorry your shopping sucked too. It’s so annoying.

    I’ll see you there!
