My Internet was down last night, so I couldn’t get on to post a blog. The Internet worked fine while Wizard was online playing around.
Trolls are out to get me!
Anyway while Wizard was playing I was WORKING on copy edits for SINFUL MAGIC. These are the strangest set of copy edits I’ve ever had. On the upside, they are very light and therefore pretty easy. But some of the queries make me laugh.
Which brings me to a question: Do you think the first time the hero and heroine make love, it should be in a bed? Or does it matter?
Okay, I have to down a cauldron of coffee and get to work!

It doesn’t matter to me where they get together for the first time. As long as it suits the story. It wouldn’t make any sense if they’re all hot and heavy in the living room, but they pause to go use the bed. If they’re that into each other, they wouldn’t be thinking about the logistics, would they? The couch, the floor, the kitchen counter. They could always move to the bedroom for round two, when they’re both sated enough to take their time.

B.E., that’s how I think too. Now…what if they were outside where no one could possibly see them?

It doesn’t matter. I read one book where the first time the couple got together was up against a wall in the entry way of her home.
I think it depends on the story. I agree with B.E. if they’re frantic they wouldn’t stop, especially if they’re in a secluded area, but if they’re in a stairwell where people could come in and out I think it matters.

Any where. Land sea air. Moving or not- The more imaginative the scene is helps with the idea of heroes that are beyond reproach and capable of anything. I have read some scenes in books when they are very creative that I go back and read it again because I think is that really possible. Then I think wow where can I find a guy like that or how I wish I could be her. Which is exactly what I want to think when I read a book.

Oh yea If Phoenix has his motor running tell him I will gladly meet him at/on his motorcycle.

Outside would be fine with me. In fact, I think it’d be perfectly natural for a Wing Slayer Hunter to… umm… unite with his perfect woman in the great outdoors.

Erika, LOL on the stairwell! That’s not a good place to get caught with your pants down

Kat, you’ve tapped into my feelings on it–it’s the fantasy! It’s fun to imagine! We have enough of real life, I think.
And Phoenix always has his motor running!

No matter to me where as long as the scene is played out wonderfully in relation to the story of the book.
