I didn’t get called into Jury Duty today. So I’m going to plant flowers! Right after I go grocery shopping, I’m going to head down to Home Depot and pick out some flower and plant them.
All by myself.
I told Wizard my plan. His response was:
“You? By yourself? No magic? No help?”
Me, “Hey!I can buy and plant flowers, I’ve done it before.”
Smirking, Wizard asked, “When was the last time you planted flowers without my help?”
Frowning, I thought about it. “I don’t know, maybe last time you were in England?”
Raised eyebrows. “That was like five years ago. Wasn’t that the year they all died?”
Had they died? I didn’t remember. “You’re lying!” Cause he does lie just to torment me.
He grinned. “You realize you will have to dig in the dirt.” He paused dramatically and added, “There might be worms.”
Trying not to gag, I said, “I’m not afraid of worms.” As long as they don’t touch me. And damn it, did he have to say worms while I’m cooking spaghetti?
“Right. Sure. I believe you, Witch. So you’re really going to do this? By yourself?”
What choice do I have now? “Oh yeah, I’m doing this. And you’d better be impressed when you get home. You hear me, Wizard? No helpful suggestions or critiques. You. Will. Be. Impressed.” Oh yeah, I am that tough.
He grinned. “Impressed. Entertained. It’s all the same to me, Witch.” He laughed and walked out.
I’m so going to buy and plant those flowers. And they will live. Hmm, maybe I should buy fake flowers instead?

I’m sure they’ll be lovely. Get marigolds. They’re hard to kill.
And thanks for this post. It reminded me that I need to go sprinkle those alyssium seeds around the bottom of that bush before it gets too late in the season. Keep your fingers crossed that they grow for me. (Lord knows I’m not having any luck with the grass seed this year.)
Good luck with your flowers! =o)

This made me laugh so much i actually cried. oh thank you for making my day even brighter.

I dont have much to do with the gardening myself but one of my fave flowers are white roses, so id prob have them if i had a better garden (I have stones in my garden, i hate them their annoying, id rather have grass) just a bit of really random info for you there

B.E., Wizard suggested marigolds too, but I really love impatients, vincas and the colorful flowers. We’ll see what I find!
Trust me, I’ll get them planted, and Wizard will take over their care. I can weed a little bit, but he knows it’s hard on my hands.
Good luck with your seed! It’s been a long time since I’ve tried t grow anything from seed. Oh wait, I did hanging tomatoes once and they actually grew.

I have conjured a flour spell for you. May your yeast rise.
Oh. Wait. Scratch that. *scribblescribblescribble* *mumblemumble* *headscratch* *scribblescribble* *chantchantchaaaaannnnttttttchant* There ya go. I’ve sent the worms deep (you need them in the soil–makes for better flowers!), and I’ve made sure there’s lots of fertilizer in the spell. Now your flowers will grow straight and strong. Just remember to water them once in awhile.
We’ll teach Wizard!

Zoe, don’t encourage Wizard. He already thinks he’s funny. He also thinks I exist just to keep him laughing.
But I’ll show him! Maybe…
White roses? Those sound lovely. I do have a rose bush (Wizard planted it) and it does really well. But white roses are so elegant.

Silver, I missed you on my first pass today! Thank you for the spell. (the flower not the flour!) I just now finished, and we’ll see. I didn’t do it as well as Wizard, and I only cut one worm in half–ugh. I know they are good for the soil, but we are supposed to have a deal: They work in the dark and I don’t have to see them!
Hope you’re having a good day!

That was cute. I always plant impatiens. They grow in anything and last until the frost. Have fun in the dirt :).

I do NOT dig in the dirt, I do NOT weed and I do NOT plant flowers … besides, I’ve got a black thumb
I want to see pitures of your lovely garden when you’re done!

Ban, I’ll take a picture soon. But it doesn’t look like much yet.
And LOL on the black thumb. Mine is gray–once in a while I get lucky and don’t kill a plant.
