Weekend Roundup

I got to see Bailey Dog yesterday! We went to a BBQ, then we stopped by to visit Bailey ( and my oldest son).  When we were leaving, my son told Bailey to go in his kennel while he walked us out.

Normally, Bailey hears “kennel” and will go right in.  But yesterday he was running and hiding between my ankles. So funny! I wanted to pick him up and hug him because obviously he wanted to go home with me.

Sadly,  I couldn’t undermine my son’s authority.

But how can I not love that dog?

Then Wizard and I went home, and I was STARVING.  And, maybe, perhaps, possibly,  I whined about being hungry. I was so hungry I didn’t care about Weight Watchers, Points, Jeans or anything but food.  I normally don’t really even care much for fast food and rarely eat it, but Wizard took one look at me rummaging through cupboards and muttering, then grabbed his car keys and wallet and said, “I’ll get you Kentucky Fried Chicken, and left.

I heard the car squeal out of the garage he was in such a hurry.  I must have looked scary hungry.

But then he called me, “How bad do you want KFC?”

“Why?” I snarled asked nicely.

He named the price. Evidently they had jacked it significantly. Frankly, I’d have paid double, but I said,  “Fine, I’ll eat something at home.”

“Screw KFC. I know  place I can get you two chicken tacos you’ll love,” Wizard answered and hung up.

He came home with the promised tacos.  They were delicious, and even better? The ice cream with chocolate sauce and a few chocolate chips we ate an hour later.

And today, I am getting my overstuffed butt to the gym! But damn, it’s good to splurge once in a while. Wizard was there in my hour of need, so I guess I owe him. Shhh, don’t tell him I admitted that!

How was your weekend?

Glad you got to see Bailey. He must really like going to your house :).
My husband bought KFC on his way home from WV last week and he said the same thing. They have jacked the price up big time. What a sweetie that Wizard got you tacos – good guy.
We went to the barn to see my friends daughter and he horse yesterday. Afterwards we drove out to this place we know and bought cider :-P . While picking up the jug I had to taste the sample dips they had out, one was Thai. Yes, the mix came home with me and I made it right away. Didn’t wait the two hours and dove right in after only one hour. Still good but tonight it will be even better

Hahaha! Good Wizard! Hungry witches can be a little…..unstable! Poor Bailey dog!!! She obviously needed some grandma time. The batteries died in one of our dogs collars for the invisible fence so what did she do? She scaled the chainlink fence and went prancing around the neighborhood. The little hussy! Grrr And of course it rained all day and by the time we got her back it was 10 o’clock, she smelled like she had been rolling in something dead, and she was muddy and wet and starving and kept looking at me like “aren’t you going to feed me and bathe me?” I swear I about put her back out in the rain!

Aww Bailey. He loves his gramma.

I’m with Wizard – screw KFC. And their hunger-inducing commercials. Damn them. Yeah for chicken tacos bought somewhere else.

My weekend was pretty good. My college team won. The Yankees are in the playoffs with homefield advantage. I got some good words out and passed 10K with my rewrite. And the kid called twice. Plus, she got an A- on her first paper for college comp. =o)

I guess I’m lucky that KFC doesn’t appeal. I splurged and had Papa Murphy’s pizza on Saturday between the OSU/Texas A&M game and the OU/Missou game. You pick up the pizza fresh and back it yourself. They have a chicken, spinach, artichoke, and bacon in a white garlic sauce on a paper-thin crust that is to die for! The weekend was okay. College teams won, St. Louis might pull out the wild card in the NL and make the playoffs, I got my website reworked, and I’ starting on my next WIP.

In the meantime, Jen, you crack me up!

Wizard was there in my hour of need, so I guess I own him. Shhh, don’t tell him I admitted that!

Emphasis is mine. Yes, you do OWN him! LOLOLO ;)

Viki, Bailey is a character! He loves me, but he loves his boys so much more. He’d miss them about an hour after he got home with me :-)

How I bet the horse was beautiful! Thai cidar? That’s new to me–interesting. I bet it’s good! Hope you enjoy it tonight.

Shiloh, “unstable” is a very good word for me yesterday!

Your dog is very social, LOL! What kind of dog is she? I’m picture thick long fur–wet and stinky fur after her neighborhood adventures!

B.E., Congrats to your daughter! She just proved to herself that she can handle college, and handle it very well! You must be so proud!

Don’t you love those phone calls? I know I do!

Glad you had a good weekend. Are you able to focus more no writing now that daughter has settled in?

Silver, ROTFL!!! Talking about Freudian! I’m going to have to go fix that, poor Wizard!

And OMG I want that pizza! I love anything with artichoke hearts. That sounds so good, but it’s not something Wizard would eat.

    At least your teams won!

    Jen-

She is a Shiba Inu, a Japanese hunting dog. She’s about 15-20 lbs, short haired, short pointy ears, and jumps like a kangaroo. Very cute, but not after a day running around in the rain, mud, and probably swimming in the lake we live on!

Hey Jen – Sorry I was unclear. There were 6 different types of sample dip out on the counter with pretzels. One of them was Thai, loved it. The cider normal cider but made right there on site. Yummy!
I know what you mean about Bailey. My daughter-in-laws pup PeeWee loves me too but is so upset when she leaves him.

Shiloh, I looked up pics of a Shiba Inu, so cute! Those little faces! I bet she was glad to be home with you once she was finished with her adventures.

Viki, it was all me, I must have read too fast and missed the part about sample dips. Sorry! And man, that makes a lot more sense to me!

PeeWee sounds a lot like Bailey :-)
