Karma…Again :-)

I got nothing today. I’m just trying to work this week and am super boring.

Although yesterday, I talked myself into running into the grocery store (to buy some fruit) on the way home from the gym.

So let’s recap. I did 3 miles on the treadmill, and spent another twenty minutes lifting weights. I looked BAD.  My hair is sweaty and frizzy, I’m wearing my gym clothes and I don’t have any make-up on.

I got a lot of WTF looks from people as I bought my two bananas and one apple.  The whole three embarrassing minutes in there, I’m thinking: This is not only a bad decision, but KARMA because I made a comment or two (to Wizard) about people who go to the grocery store wearing their pajamas, and without a visit to their hair brush first.

Maybe next time a see a bed head in pajamas in the store, I’ll have a little more compassion.

So am I the only one who is getting visits from KARMA?

Karma – I believe. You shouldn’t be too upset about your appearance at the store. I’m sure you looked better than you thought. Sounds like you picked up some nice fruit and that’s great for post workout. Did you know that your body needs to replace the “good sugar” you burn off within 30 to 45 minutes? If you put a little healthy sugar back into your body it helps the muscle re-build.

Oh yeah! I’ve lost some weight so I bought this cute top last week. I wore it the other day and hubby says: “wow! Look at you, all hanging out every wear” :-x I’m not sure if that was admonishing or complimentary. Any way I get home and take another look and sure enough, I look like I’m trying to be 18 again. *sigh* I throw it in a goodwill bound bag. I’ve been the woman with 2 kids complaining to hubby about how so and so needs to dress their age…..

Also, I’ve soooo done the grocery after the gym. In fact its a regular thing for me! LOL So as my dad would say, “I resemble that remark!”

There’s a difference between you showing up at the grocery store after a workout in your scrubby clothes and people who can’t be bothered to struggle out of their jammies to go buy more whoopie pies. You should see me hitting the store on cleaning day – especially when I run out of some supply and have to dash for more. Small children should run screaming. Eh, you do what you gotta do and if other people don’t like it… well, =op to them.

Jammies in public mean a coffee emergency. But that’s what the drive-thru is for!

Karma? I don’t tempt the bit…witch. She’s been kickin’ my @$$ for a couple of months now. I need to figure out who I p!$$ed off so I can make amends!

Bad Karma yea I get it. But were is all the good Karma I build up? Putting up with grumpy people and smiling. Talking nicely to over worked under paid service workers and making them smile. Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts- Really if good Karma came back equal to the bad…… Ok I don’t do it for Karma. I do it because it is the right thing to do. But I wouldn’t mind a bit more good coming back to me. Trust me I would share it with everybody else.

As for people in their PJ’s and slippers- As a social worker I see them all the time at the Department of Human Services. You better believe it is a sure sign to the workers of who is trying to make things better and who is just riding the system. I certinly respect a person who comes in with mud on there boots or car greese on their clothes. They at least are trying.

Viki, I felt pretty bad, and wished I’d at least thought to bring a jacket to cover up my workout top.

And I didn’t know that! I tend to eat a banana after working out, then a bit later, make a latte with about a 1/2 cup skim milk. What’s interesting is I do that because I feel good then, if I don’t I get a headache. Looks like my body knows what it needs.

Shiloh, congrats on losing weight! And hubby–hmmm. He should be clearer–that comment would have thrown me too.

But you hit on one of the reasons I was uncomfortable, I was in a workout-tank type of top. A little skimpy for the grocery store.

B.E., I’ve run to the store when we are painting or doing other super dirty work, so you make a good point there!

Silver, people run out of coffee? That scares me! I can live without most anything else, but not coffee! I have emergency back-up at all times.

Karma really needs to get off your back! You didn’t do anything, sometimes I just think Karma has a serious case of PMS :-)

Kat, yeah what is up with that? Why don’t we get rewards for being nice? I let two people go in front of me at the grocery store this morning (my REAL shopping) and still just spilled coffee all over my desk.

My aunt was a social worker for decades, oh the stories she told! I also worked for health accounting, I saw stuff too. But those working their butts off and trying always have my respect.

If I needed help, I’d want you on my case :-) You seem to care about the people who need help and are willing to do anything they can to make things better.

Isn’t it funny how the body does let you know exactly what it requires? See, all along you’ve been doing right by your muscles.

Yeah Karma is a ….. Well at least for me. Though still trying to figure out who I messed with in another life or something cause for the life of me I can’t figure out what I have done to have this long lasting of a streak. Even my co-workers joke about me not having any luck but bad.

As to clothes and stores. While I have never gone in my P.J.’s to the store I have gone in my running stuff but that was only cause I knew if I sat down to even change my shoes I wouldn’t get back up. I probably should of showered first but hey small town and know most everyone any way. What is one more thing for them to talk about.

Lindsey, we must find a spell to get out some good luck!

And see? That’s why I went on the way home from the gym, because I knew I wouldn’t go back out!
