What Are You Reading

Before we get to reading, let’s talk about colds. Why is a man’s cold always worse than the woman’s? I’m talking about YOU, Wizard!

If you’ve never seen man cold, hop over to You Tube and watch it here I made Wizard watch it again last night. He laughed even though he really is miserable. I have a milder version of the cold he has.

Okay books. I’ve been in another slump, I’m even wondering if I need to take a break from reading paranormal for awhile.  I took a few days off reading just to clear my head. But I plan to start Monica McCarty’s THE HAWK tonight (which is really last night, since I wrote this blog Wednesday night.)

What about you all? What are you reading?

I hear ya! Only I’m wondering if I need to take a break from school books! *sigh* I can’t though! So other than those wonderful books, I took a break and downloaded a couple of Lora Leigh’s early breed books: The Man Within. Then I’ve got on hold at my library a new author for me: Lois Greiman and her “UN” series. I’ve heard its hilarious and similar to Janet Evanovich. So I’m going to give her a try.

Oooo, I hope you enjoy The Hawk. Monica’s got me addicted to her hot highlanders. I’m in the middle of her The Viper right now. =o)

That video is hilarious. I loved that guy in Sean of the Dead. Sorry to hear about your colds. I hope you both feel better soon. And don’t forget to rub Wizard’s head and say ‘poor bunny’. ;o)

Read oh yea Doing Laundry at my house. Not reading much of anything right now. Sigh the evil publishing companies don’t realize how great my favorite author is and are not letting her finish her series right now. Grumble waiting for Ram’s book Grumble. Not much time for reading but I still find myself creating stories in my head at night before going to sleep. I just never have felt that I could capture those enough to put it on paper. I can tell stories around a campfire or late at night to my kids, but I have always lost something in translation from my head to my hand.

Men are such babies when they’re sick! Reading…I had two books I reserved frm the library hit at the same time. I’m reading THE UNQUIET, an anthology with a JD Robb Eve Dallas novella and Anne Mallory’s IN TOTAL SURRENDER, a historical. I finished her ONE NIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH where the hero of the current book was a secondary character. I was curious enough to try the second book even though the reviews were uneven.

Tell Wiz to get well soon! And you take care of yourself, witch. I’ll send a spell to ward off those man-cold germs!

Shiloh, sympathies on the text book burnout! That one is tougher to deal with.

I haven’t read that particular LL book, so let me know what you think. I read the first 8 Janet Evanovich then lost interest–that has nothing to do with her, and everything to do with my short attention span! I haven’t heard of the UN series, I’ll look it up.

B.E., I’m about 70 pages in (try reading with all the sighing and groaning if He Who Suffers…), and loving it so far. The first few pages were slow then it really picked up!

Wizard’s much sicker than me, the cold has barely slowed me down. I got off easy–unless it suddenly turns on me. So, you’re saying that putting on that video and playing it loud wasn’t enough sympathy for Wizard? Must I do more?

Kat, I’m so sorry! I really am!I wish I had control over getting the remaining stories out. And I’ve never even told you guys that Wing Slayer himself has a story. But Wing Slayer never bugs me about it like Linc and Ram do.

I sure recognized that telling stories in your head! And I feel the same way about translating them to the page. For me, the magic rarely happens in the first half of my first draft–it’s later when I get deeper into the story that I start to really “feel it on the page”. I don’t know if that helps you at all.

Silver, you’re so right about men!

Doesn’t it figure that both books would come in at the same time? Hope you can finish them before they are due back.

Thanks, I’m feeling okay. It’s Wizard that is suffering. I’m sure that having to go to work each day isn’t helping him.

Men a great big babies, that’s why their colds are so much worse. They also have larger sinus passages so I “guess” they could have more yuck to deal with. But no matter what is wrong men milk it to the max.
Currently trying to catch up on Showlater’s LORDs that I love and am reading Darkest Lie. When that’s done will go to YA Beautiful Chaos.
You may need a break. I throw in some Lauren Dane, Shiloh Walker, or Stephanie Tyler (SEAL’s – YUM!) every once in a while to keep me fresh.

Colds suck. Period. I’ve heard that Emergen-C works really well to get rid of a cold faster.

I’ve been reading A LOT lately. Work is really slow and my manager told us he didn’t care if we did homework or read if we wanted to keep up our hours. So guess what I’ve been doing… I just finished reading Lora Leigh’s story, AN INCONVENIENT MATE, in the anthology TIED WITH A BOW. Before that I read Darynda Jones FIRST GRAVE ON THE RIGHT and SECOND GRAVE ON THE LEFT. I have Yasmine Galenorn’s COURTING DARKNESS, Nora Roberts THE NEXT ALWAYS and Sherrilyn Kenyon’s THE GUARDIAN waiting for me. Now I just have to decide which one to read next.

Viki, I never thought about the larger sinus passages…um…not sure I want to now :-)

I haven’t read Lauren Dane but I hear she’s good. Gonna have to remedy that. Sounds like you have quite a variety!

    Dawn, I’ve heard that too, but I’m a non-believer :-)

Yay for getting to read at work! I read FIRST GRAVE ON THE RIGHT and enjoyed it, but never got to the second one. Good luck choosing your next read!
