Weekend Roundup

Another relaxing weekend. I could really get used to this! BLB went home to his house for the weekend, and Wizard and I didn’t have any real commitments. Yesterday we made ribs and hung out in the hot tub.

Of course there was my trip to Target. I managed to get through that okay, but then thought, “Hey I’ll get a latte at the Starbucks inside Target.  I paid cash and automatically did the math in my head and knew I was getting a buck fifteen in change.

So I unzipped my change wallet.

Then, in I move that proves I seriously need a keeper, I turned a my wallet upside down and spilled out about four dollars worth of change.

All over the tile floor. Quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies everywhere.

Instant hot flash of major embarrassment.  All the way home, I chanted, “I am not telling wizard about this. I am not…”

First thing I did when I got home? Told Wizard.

Yeah, he was still laughing when he left for work today.

But in happier news, I think I’m going to get an iPhone! My phone is around 4 years old and dumb as dirt.  I text by numbers! So sad. Anyway, we went and looked yesterday, checking them out. Wizard won’t get one, but I am 95% sure I am. I’m excited.  It’ll be a couple weeks before I do it though. I want to be sure it’s what I really want.

How was your weekend?

Story of Two Brave Pups

Wizard and I were watching the news while cooking dinner last night and saw the best story. Two puppies who were badly burned  in a house fire at the beginning of the year are recovering. Dr. Grossman of the well known Grossman Burn Center, has been volunteering his time, expertise and supplies to help the pups.

They are doing really well now. I tried to find the link to the news show we were watching but was unsuccessful. (A link to an older story about the pups is here ) To sum up, a bunch of people cared about these two little pups, and now they have a chance at a really good life.

Wizard was so into this story, he didn’t even flinch when I said,  “We could adopt one of them.  Look at them, so loving! Who cares about the scars.” Even as I said it, I knew it was insane. We are still waiting to see what the next step with BLB is, but still…those puppies are so sweet and such little survivors!

And then then the story went on to say that the two dogs are going to become Service Dogs to work with other burn patients.

Awesome. So Awesome. What a loving inspiration these two dogs will be with their visible scars, brave yet loving hearts,  showing others that they can get through it. And they will know how special they are each day when they go to “work.” Yeah…just awesome.

Wizard and I were so touched by this story.  So I thought I’d share it with you all :-)

Have a great day!

Question of the Day

Hey did you you all see Silver’s news on her blog last week? If not, go see it here I’m really excited for her new adventure!

Now here’s my Question of the Day for you all. Do you think this blog has run it’s course? I’m wondering if I should keep doing this? Or just post one or two times a week? What do you guys think?

Sadly, Bailey ended up not coming over yesterday.  Bummer. But he’ll come over soon!

The Verizon guy was highly amused by the picture of Bailey reading that’s my screensaver. I looked for the picture to post it here, but couldn’t find it.

We’ll know in a day or two if the Internet problem is resolved.

Okay now if you have a minute, please answer if you all think I should continue the blog as it is or not.  I want your input as I make this decision! Thank you!

Weekend Roundup

I’m having Internet connectivity problems.  Sometimes I can’t get online at all. Verizon is coming out today to see what’s up. I’m hoping they actually fix it. My Internet has never been as fast as promised, and prone to a ugly bouts of PMS. So keep your fingers crossed.

Now the weekend–it was great. Saturday we celebrate a big milestone birthday for Wizard’s mom. So nice to see everyone! This was a lot of the family’s first chance to see BLB too. Many of them seemed a bit surprised that it’s “not just a broken leg.” We all had a good day, and my Mother In Law was sweet and pleased.

Sunday was relaxing. I wrote a few rough pages on Linc’s book–it’s taking a bit to get anchored back into his world.  But Linc and I are beginning to reconnect.  It was such nice weather, Wizard and I hung out in the Jacuzzi and goofed off too.

With BLB, things are steadily improving. He can walk/limp without a cane at times. When he gets tired he uses the cane, and he has to watch as the leg can give out on him suddenly. Right now, he’s spending a few days a week at home, and loves that. His two brothers don’t baby him the way I do, but they do look out for him so I don’t worry at all.  BLB wants to go back to work, but I don’t think the leg can tolerate it yet as a lot of his job is standing. We’ll see what his doc says.

Oh and Bailey’s coming over today! Actually I’m meeting BLB at a half way point to pick up the dog, then BLB is off to physical therapy and doctor appts.  Then BLB will come home too. I don’t know how one little dog needs five people (my three sons, me and Wizard) and two households to accommodate him.

How was your weekend?

Don’t forget, I may have major trouble getting online and answering comments.  But I will try!

Reading?

I’m wiped and the week isn’t over.  My days are just brimming with twists. In good news, my agent is very enthusiastic about the dragons now. And yeah, even that caught me by surprise, LOL.It really shouldn’t have given all the blood, sweat and tears poured into many months of revisions.

So onto reading. I’m going to write this blog post then go buy Sylvia Day’s BARED TO YOU on Kindle and read that, I think.  What are you all reading?

And FYI, there another except and giveaway over at Books -n-Kisses blog!

Chit Chat Today

Wizard is sick with a cold. Poor Wizard. And poor me :-) Nothing is worse than a man-cold!

Today you can find me over at Book Monster Reviews and Literal Addiction  to see reviews, an excerpt from FORBIDDEN MAGIC and we’re giving away a book, I think. Seriously I should know this, right?  Carla TELLS me, but here’s the thing, since she’s taken over my calendar, I stopped worrying about it. I just do what the calendar says.

Hmm, what if Carla puts something really evil on my calendar and I do it? Shhh, don’t tell her what kind of power she has over me! I don’t think she hangs out here at the blog, so we should be safe :-)

And lastly, I got all but Sutton’s trading cards yesterday. I love them! They are black background, so the printing on the back side can be hard to read for some eyes. But the fronts are so freaking gorgeous (to me!). Wizard is concerned about the backs of the cards…umm…how do I tell him that the info on the back isn’t really the point? It’s all about the pictures on the front?

Wild Weekend Roundup!

Okay the weekend wasn’t that wild. I went to my RWA meeting and hung out with two good friends. Then I got home and could NOT believe it.

FORBIDDEN MAGIC broke the 100 mark barrier in rankings at Barnes & Noble.  In all my years of writing, I’ve never had that happen. And it just got bett3er and better as the weekend went on, going down as low as 47 as I’m writing this blog on Sunday evening.

Amazon Kindle started out really strong but N&N Nook surpassed it and the whole thing has been a wild ride.  Everyone told me that Kindle will significantly outsell NOOK, but as my doctor once told, “Nothing about you is normal.”  LOLOL!!!

Okay I’m going to get control here. I’m sure by this morning it’s all leveling out, and that’s okay. But I want to say a special thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement.  You all kept me going when it the road was rough. THANK YOU!

Yesterday I worked all day doing stuff like finally getting Ram’s interview done, sending updates for my website that will hopefully be done in a few days, doing a newsletter and various other things. My AA (Amazing Assistant) Carla is also keeping me hopping too.

Oh and I’m hoping my Romance Trading Cards featuring five of the Wing Slayer Hunters; Axel, Sutton, Phoenix, Key, and Ram arrive today or tomorrow. I am so excited to see them! I will do some contests here to win them once I have them :-)

So how was your weekend?
