I’m having Internet connectivity problems. Sometimes I can’t get online at all. Verizon is coming out today to see what’s up. I’m hoping they actually fix it. My Internet has never been as fast as promised, and prone to a ugly bouts of PMS. So keep your fingers crossed.
Now the weekend–it was great. Saturday we celebrate a big milestone birthday for Wizard’s mom. So nice to see everyone! This was a lot of the family’s first chance to see BLB too. Many of them seemed a bit surprised that it’s “not just a broken leg.” We all had a good day, and my Mother In Law was sweet and pleased.
Sunday was relaxing. I wrote a few rough pages on Linc’s book–it’s taking a bit to get anchored back into his world. But Linc and I are beginning to reconnect. It was such nice weather, Wizard and I hung out in the Jacuzzi and goofed off too.
With BLB, things are steadily improving. He can walk/limp without a cane at times. When he gets tired he uses the cane, and he has to watch as the leg can give out on him suddenly. Right now, he’s spending a few days a week at home, and loves that. His two brothers don’t baby him the way I do, but they do look out for him so I don’t worry at all. BLB wants to go back to work, but I don’t think the leg can tolerate it yet as a lot of his job is standing. We’ll see what his doc says.
Oh and Bailey’s coming over today! Actually I’m meeting BLB at a half way point to pick up the dog, then BLB is off to physical therapy and doctor appts. Then BLB will come home too. I don’t know how one little dog needs five people (my three sons, me and Wizard) and two households to accommodate him.

Sorry the internet is squonky for you. I hate that. Sounds like you had a good weekend otherwise. Yay for BLB! He’s making good progress. And double yay for Bailey coming over. It’s only right he has a large retinue to attend to his needs. ;o)
The weekend? I read some. :cough:Forbidden Magic:cough: I finished a picture editing project I was working on for my mother. Did some tree climbing over at Ancestry.com which led me to a great times X uncle who died in the Mexican-American War. And I watched some baseball. All in all a good weekend.

Weekend Yawn not long enough. Family did yard work and gardening on sat morning till the rain came. This morning we had some snow coming down. Made it really hard to get out of bed. Really wanted to just hybernate one more day. May be I will close the office door and hide. Never works but a nice thought. Yawn again ok caffine emergency.

I saw “tree climbing” and was picturing that when I realized you were talking about Ancestry.com LOL! You are finding out some really interesting info there!
BLB is doing better, but he’s fighting for every step of progress. I’m very proud of him, but I still get that sick feeling that he has to struggle so very much. He rarely ever complains though.

Kat, you just described a Monday! I dragged myself out of bed in a light drizzle to go to the gym. But frankly, your day sounds worse as I get to work at home.

Hi Jenny –
first thing I have to do is correct you on picking up “the dog.”. Bailey would not stand for that ;). He’s the furry male member of the family :).
What fantastic news on BLB. Getting around w/o any cane for even small bits of time must be such a blessing for him. Nice to hear his brothers watch out for him too.
I love those big birthday celebrations. Glad to know that so many people could get together to celebrate.
John and I got to the island at 3 yesterday. It’s chilly and very windy but so beautiful. We’re enjoying the down time and the fact that it’s snowing on our boys at home – yes we are evil ;).
I hope your Internet has been fixed and you have a great week. We’re off to go drink

Wizard calls me that sometimes, usually when he’s making fun of me.
Bailey is a member of the family, that’s for sure! The boys had a cousin staying with them for the weekend, and she’s now a die hard Bailey Fan. I don’t know how he does it.
I’m so glad the two of you are getting some alone time. We love our kids, but that time alone is truly special! Hope the weather warms up! Enjoy!
