Technology Problems and Reading

So my DSL has decided to work, but my car has decided not to “recognize” my key. It’s a push start system and the car tells me it can’t detect the key.  I’m getting a complex here. Wizard just replaced the batteries in our keys. His works, mind doesn’t. Sigh. Wizard is going by the dealership to get another battery and try that.

Not sure what Techno Fairy I pissed off, but I’m really sorry! Seriously! I’ll even make you cookies. But please quit punishing me through my technology!

In other news, today we’re taking BLB (Broken Leg Boy) back to the surgeon to see what he wants to do next with his leg.  We are hoping the surgeon can clearly see in the MRI what needs to be done.

Unfortunately the metal plate and pins cause some distortion in the MRI.

It’s been four months and we are so close…he’s walking, but with a limp and he still has some pain. We’ll see what today brings.

And lastly, I just finished reading TEMPTING THE BEST MAN by J. Lynn, and am starting BLACKMAILED BY THE ITALIAN BILLIONAIRE by Nina Croft. Both are Entangled Publishing books. I’m talking to my new editor tomorrow to discuss the book I’m writing for them, so I’m trying to get a stronger feel for the line. I’ve also read THE MARRIAGE BED by Jennifer Probst (a really cute book!)

What are you reading?

Technology: the curse and savior of our existence.

I just finished Shelly Laurenston’s Bear Meets Girl. I have never laughed out loud as much as I did reading this book. It was great.

Working on Joyce Lamb’s True Shot.

    Good luck with BLB.

I’ve been on a YA kick recently, reading Kelley Armstrong’s Darkness Rising series. But right now I’m reading Lynn Kurlands All for You. I love time traveling medieval men!

Sorry to hear about your continuing technology woes. Why do they all come at once?

I’m not sure you have a fairy in the works. Sounds more like a Glitch has picked you as his new buddy. According to one of the series I read (Deadtown – Nancy Holzner), hairspray works wonders to locate Glitches so they can be killed. ;o)

I finished Allison’s book last night, and it rocked. I haven’t decided what I’ll pick up next. Probably Tricked by Kevin Hearne (the latest in his Iron Druid series).

I hope it’s the battery and that you’re not like me. See I have this strange magnetic field that I inherited from my grandmother. I can short things out just by touching them. I can pick up the tv remote to turn up the volume and instead the channel will change. When it comes to working on anything electronic I’m banned :).

I’ve got BLB in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well today and a plan is established to fix him up :). He is doing remarkably well considering it was only a little over 4 months ago. Your mind set really can influence your body.

I just finished Cynthia Eden’s novella BOUND IN THE NIGHT. I really like her paranormal stories. I am starting Nancy Atherton’s AUNT DIMITY and THE VILLAGE WITCH. If you’ve never heard of her she writes this Aunt Dimity mystery series that is really cute.

    Have a wonderful day :)!

Sorry to hear about your tech problems :( Hope everything gets fixed soon!

I just finished Jenna Black’s DEADLY DESCENDENT. As always with a series, it left me impatient for the next book. I’m now reading Kevin Hearne’s HOUNDED.

I’m with BE. Sounds more like a Glitch than a fairy. Or maybe a Bugaboo. If it’s a Bugaboo, the cookies may work. If it’s a Glitch, the oven will fritz.

Holding good thoughts for BLB and for the MRI to get a clear picture!

I just finished Thea Harrison’s NATURAL EVIL (a short in her Elder Races books). I really liked parts of it but it felt a little rushed. Not sure what I’ll pick up next. I have so many choices on the Fire it’s like my brain short circuits. I should be working anyway. I have a deadline on edits for FAERIE FOOL and really need to finish them before I dive into a really good book that will distract me. :-P

Reading nothing new. When I am stressed I go back and reread books on my shelf. It’s a book addiction thing kind of like wearing a comfy sweater or watching an old movie. I hope by the middle of the month things will calm down enough to start some thing new.

I keep a small vile of holy water next to my computer. When it acts up I wave the vile over it and say don’t make me use this. It mostly works. Viki has the right of it with the natural electomagnatic thing. It tends to become worse when your stressed. So find some way to ground your self (mediatation- a good drink or a laugh would help) then try the key.

Labrat11, hmm I should get that book, I could use a laugh. Shelly’s very funny :-)

I love technology when it works and curse it when it doesn’t :-) Today’s been good on the technical front so far.

Julie, I like YA too on occasion. I should try Armstrong’s YA series when I get a chance.

BE, LOL on the hairspray! I’m sure I have some around here somewhere!

I’m so glad to hear that about Allison’s book!

Viki, I sometimes thinking Biker Witch has that magnetic field too :-) Wizard switched the batteries in our keys and it worked. Maybe ti was loose, we’ll find out.

It was a tough appt with BLB’s doc today. We’re still processing, so I’ll talk about it later. But the doctor and his staff are fine, just honest :-)

If Cynthia Eden is who I’m picturing, she’s a very nice woman.

Dawn, Technology is on its good behavior today!

When the book leaves you wanting more, I take that as an excellent recommendation!

Silver, there just isn’t any way to get a clear picture around the metal in his leg. So the MRI was inconclusive.

No comment on the Elder Race. I bowed out :-)

You have a LOT going on right now! But you have to do those edits anyway. BLOOD MOON is sitting on my Kindle, waiting for me!

Kat, I hope things calm down soon for you. It’s been a rough road lately.

The holy water is funny! But I’d somehow spill it on something vital.

Rereading is a good way to deal with stress. I like that!

Kat – I love the holy water :).

Jenn – I’ve never met Cynthia Eden but have spoken via blogs and I think you’re right. She seems like a very nice person. She writes one sexy demon too – Niol :-P
