Schedules, Deadlines and Oh My

My deadline for the new book was moved up to July 15th. Umm…yeah. Actually I can make that deadline, I think. The only real issue will be BLB’s surgery and we have no idea when that will be scheduled.  I’m not even thinking about the dragons that are out on submission.

So I am writing! The shorter, tighter structure of this book is much easier than a paranormal. But it still has to be good. Unfortunately that usually requires a lot of agony and rewriting on my part :-)

Fortunately, Wizard is in his extremely busy time as well so our schedules are working well together.

Bailey however, is not as happy about my work schedule:

He doesn’t like NOT being the center of attention! And speaking of Bailey. He was over on the weekend, and BLB’s girlfriend came over to hang for a while. Bailey loves her! He planted himself in her lap and stayed there while we all watched a movie.  She pet him the entire time.

Hope you all have a great day!

Poor Bailey, the abuse is too much. He should always be the center of attention :). He is so darn cute in that photo. Makes me wonder what he’s thinking.

Well you are going to be an very busy bee :). That’s nice that your schedules are working so well together, it will help things along.

Today my baby is 20. You know I still feel 20 so how can this be ;).

    Have a great day!

Aww poor Bailey. He looks truly put-upon. ;o) Good thing BLB has a girlfriend that likes dogs.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the new deadline and BLB’s surgery date don’t collide. And even though I’m rooting for your dragons, I’ll keep a positive thought that when they do find a home, you’ll be free to work on that without killing yourself.

Happy Birthday to your baby, Viki. I totally hear you on the ‘I’m not old enough to have a kid this age’.

    Happy Tuesday, witches! =oD

Weekend Monday Where did they go. Well Monday I took off and just slept. I have been runing and doing and ……. I crashed. At least I had the wing slayer cards to help me revive in the afternoon. Thank you they came on monday and really made me smile. :-D I went in search of an empty trading card page in my son’s old poke mon binder. My son wanted to know why I wanted it. So I told him that I had gotten my special romance trading cards. His reaction was priceless. Oh mom No WAY :!: first your cheep love novels NOW :!: Trading cards. MOM :!: . He is so dramatic. I could not stop laughing. He gave me a page. I told him that I would just let his sister see them and not him.

Oh, Kat! That’s too funny about your son. Happy B-day to your baby, Viki. I swear we all live in some sort of time warp when it comes to our kids’ ages! B.E., how goes junior’s job hunt?

Poor Bailey. Nobody loves him. Much! I’ll be snapping my whip to keep you on deadline, Jen. But you work better sometimes with the Deadline of Doom hanging over your head! I’m excited you’re going back to contemporaries, even though I <3<3<3<3 your paranormals!

Thanks for the BD wishes for my boy. He came in at 3 am all excited. He was about a half mile from home and shooting star streaked past him. He said he’d never seen one so low in the sky that it must be a good omen :). I agree with him, shooting stars are always a good sign.
Kat – I’m glad you got some rest. You needed it. I hadn’t thought of the trading card pockets. My guys got rid of theirs yrs ago but I think I might go get some. Putting the cards in a safe location free of drool is a great idea. Thanks!

Viki, Happy Birthday to your boy! 20 is a shocker, isn’t it? But you have much to be proud of in your boys!

So cool on the shooting star :-)

I’m busy but as a friend said this is a “quality” problem and I’m not complaining!

Bailey has a lot of expression, and I bet PeeWee does too. I’ve always been a big dog person, so I never knew how much personality little guys have.

B.E., the girlfriends works for a vet and would have a 100 dogs if she could. But Bailey thinks he’s her only love, and we don’t tell him different :-) Well he does smell the other dogs on her, but he forgives her.

Thanks on the prayers. I’m pretty sure that assuming the surgery happens, it will be pretty workable. BLB isn’t high maintenance in the normal scheme of things. And having a laptop helps too.

Kat your son is too cute, LOL! He likes to tease you :-)

Really glad you got some rest. I’m also happy you like the cards. Carla, my assistant, talked me into doing them. I hesitate because readers form their own images of the characters and I’m cautious about intruding on that.

Silver, I work better with deadlines? Okay it’s true, but I just wish I wouldn’t stress. I always hit my deadlines, so why do I do this?

I’m mostly worried about CAGE MAGIC and the other WSH books. I’ve made a commitment to fans to write them and I don’t want to let them down. I’ll find a way :-) If the dragons don’t sell, that’s not going to be a problem though. If they do, I have a backup plan in mind so that I can do it all.

How’s your writing going? We’re all waiting for the next novella! I didn’t read the teaser scene, I’m waiting for the novella!
