Change and Witch and Wizard

After much thought, I think I’m going to have to go to a Monday/Wednesday/ Friday blog schedule.  We’ll try it and see how it works.

But since I have you here now…

The other day Wizard was balancing the checkbook while I was making cupcakes.  They were low fat cupcakes and now they are all gone!

But I digress.

So I’m working away when Wizard suddenly says,  “Witch you forgot to put a Barnes and Noble entry in the checkbook. It’s 99 cents.”

I pause from my labors, and look up hoping he doesn’t notice the chocolate all over my face. “Are you sure? I use my business account, named The Lyon Account, for all that stuff.”

Wizard says, “It’s right here.”

“Huh, well okay. Guess I used the wrong account.”

“No big deal,” Wizard says.

I go back to eating batter baking.

“Witch, here’s another one, and another and…”

Wiping the batter off my face, I stroll over. “That can’t be right. Wizard, I think you’re looking at the statement for my Lyon account.

Wizard looks down and sure enough, he’s looking at the wrong part of the statement.  Stunned that he actually made a mistake, he looks up at me and narrows his eyes. “This is your fault.”

I might have been laughing (okay I was laughing my ass off, because when it comes to accounting, Wizard does NOT make mistakes) Finally, I get control and ask, “How is this my fault?”

“I don’t know yet, but I know  it’s your fault.”

I laughed again. “Will a cupcake make you feel better?”

“Depends, does it come with an admission of guilty?”

“Nope. But it has chocolate chunks int he batter.”

He grinned. “Good enough for me.”

But when I went to get the cupcake for him, I hear him mutter, “It’s still your fault.”

I gave him a cupcake anyway.

How cute. It’s funny how it is always our fault. Being wife and mom I accepted that fate a long time ago :).

I love it but you need to focus on other things and worry less about the blog. We’ll all be here supporting you no matter what you decide.

    Have a nice day.

Men are so cute and so funny.

I think we would all agree that your writing and your family are more important than a blog. We will miss you on your days off, but will be waiting for your next submission.

    Take care =)

Viki, thank you for the support! I hate cutting back on the blog–it’s actually something I count on to bring a smile to my day. But I need to balance my time better :-)

Labrat11, thank you. And I’m trying NOT to second guess my decision after reading comments.

I count on Wizard to make me laugh, and he usually comes through. Although stuff being off in the checkbook is usually my fault, I love to transpose numbers when I’m in a hurry.

B.E. thanks so much for pointing out the site! I had no idea. Seeing an agent evaluate Blood Magic was interesting. My agent saw the very RAW idea, and pushed me hard to develop it, and then my editor had me developed it even more. Getting an agent’s perspective from the other side is cool.

Jen, in the end, you gotta do what’s BEST for you !!! And if someday down the road you realize posting more on your blog is what you need then you make another change but for now cutting back is the decision you made and I’m sure you did not make it lightly.
PS: thanks for sharing the convo – it was sweet :D

Silver, writing cuts into our fun, but you’re right!

Wish I had a cupcake to give you, but we scarfed them all down :-)
