Weekend Roundup

My weekend, the short version: Saturday sucked, Sunday rocked :-) Nothing went right on Saturday.  I screwed up brownies,  my son cancelled coming out for a swim day, which meant we didn’t get to see Bailey either, I couldn’t work, went swimming and had some sort of a allergic reaction to chlorine Wizard put into the pool due to all the humidity. It was just one of those days.  By the end of the day–sniffling, swollen, runny eyes, frizzed out pool hair and glasses, hobbling on a bad ankle (it’s fine, just a minor thing),  I think I heard Wizard cough the words  “Walking Disaster.”

Sunday I felt much, much better. Got a lot of work done, I nearly have something ready that someone wants…how’s that for vague? LOL Sorry! Wizard and I hung out in the hot tub and cooked dinner together,  just really enjoyed our day.  We’re both going to get super busy here, so we really try and focus on some time together.

Wizard is dropping “little suggestions” that we should take Bailey for a week. He misses Bailey! Can’t admit it, but says he thinks *I* need Bailey time. Uh huh, we all believe you Wizard!

So that’s my weekend. Today I’m going to the gym, and then back to work.

How was your weekend?

I’m sorry Saturday was so bad but thank heaven Sunday made up for it – and then there is Wizard missing Bailey :). How sweet is that – now Bailey gets to come visit for a week. He will be so happy.

My weekend was good. We drove back to NY Sunday am for my mother’s “all August” birthday party and were back home by a little after 8. All the guys have to work today so it was a quick stay. All of my family was there. How could they not be, there are 8 of us with August birthdays. I think we all had a nice time.

Can’t wait to find out about your tease.

    Have a great day.

Bummer for your Saturday. If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been B.E. the Wonder Clod lately. Or as a friend of mine put it “Cloddy with a chance of pain”. Friday I tripped over one corner of Hubs’ piano, stumbled a few feet, rammed my hip into the other edge, and caught myself right before falling into a plastic book shelf. My bruises have bruises. ;o)

I refuse to be sucked into your vagueness. =op

Wizard’s too funny. Yeah, sure, Jenn’s the only person who needs a dose of Bailey. Ri-ight.

The weekend was spent inhaling books. Rob Thurman’s new book All Seeing Eye was incredible and I read it in a day. I also sent some more queries out. (Did I mention I was restarting the query process on that suspense I wrote?) No good news to report yet, but I have my fingers crossed.

Talk about your roller coaster weekend. Jen you had one.

BE two words for you “Bubble Wrap”. You know the bubble packing stuff in boxes. Take a roll wrap it around yourself sit down and stay in one place till you get over your phase.

Viki were you one of the 8 for the Aug birthdays? Having a big family is nice and even nicer when you all can get together.

Saturday the kids decided that they did not want to do an amusement park. Instead they wanted to go canoeing and kyaking. We have alot of options for that in the eastern panhandle of WV were we live. We spent 3 hours on the Shennadoah River. It was great but I was sore on Sunday. I spent most of Sunday working on my costume and teaching my daughter to sew. It was great to work together on a project.

Suday was also my anniversary. 17 years with the same guy. I really think about trading him in sometimes ( I think that we should have the option like you do with cars). But we had a nice dinner and a good family time sunday evening so I guess I will keep him around for another year.

We had rain Saturday! *happy dances* And it was also chapter day. AWESOME program. I have a pic of the “results” up at my place. I’m trying to get through the next two weeks and still get some writing done. I am SOOOOOO far behind on my deadline. I work best under pressure, right? NOOOOOOO! Not this time. *headdesk* It’s okay, though. I’ll get it figured out.

YES! You and Wiz need some major Bailey time! Bailey makes everything better. Plus, I want a hot tub. Which is totally random. It’s Monday. All day. ;)

Happy Birthday Viki! I don’t know exactly when it is, but wishing you a great birthday! I think it’s a very special one this year for you.

Bailey might come for a few days, we’ll see. Then BLB starts school and he’s going to be too busy, won’t be home as much. But we do miss Bailey :-) Probably like you miss PeeWee when you don’t see him for awhile!

B.E.!! I’m so sorry! I bet that really hurt. It’s funny when you tell it, but I’m still wincing for you. I can’t tell you the times I’ve done stuff like that, usually on deadline or something when my mind just isn’t “present”.

Even I’m surprised how much Wizard misses Bailey.

Now I have to check out that book. Going to do that as soon as I’m done here.

You did mention that you’re querying for the suspense and I’m excited for you! Don’t let rejections stall you out, rejections are just stepping stones to success!

Happy Anniversary, Kat! And congrats on so many years together! Wizard and I have been married so long, I’m not sure I could breathe without him. Although some days’ that trade in options…
just kidding. Anyone who can laugh with (AT!!!) me instead of losing his mind (or temper) is a keeper.

You had an adventurous weekend on the river! Your kids sound like they know a good time. Better than an amusement park :-)

Love that your teaching your daughter to sew. Can’t wait to hear more about the costume!

Silver, I hopped over to your blog, LOLOL on the pic! Love that! Are you still working on the website too, or is something else getting in the way of writing?

You do work best under pressure, but unfortunately, it’s a painful process :-) You can do it though!

Hope you can get a hot tub. Wiz didn’t know he wanted a hot tub when we put in the pool. I told him he did–he was doubtful, but now he’s a believer!

My computer must be messed up. I’ve tried posting this three times and it never shows up. Here goes #4 and then I throw my hands in the air.

Happy Anniversary Kat! Seventeen is great. I think it just gets better with each passing year. We’re on 21 and knowing each other inside out makes life so much nicer.

My birthday was the 14th. My family is very small but most all of us were born in August. My mother always joked that the Novembers in Western NY are quite cold ;).

You’re right Jenn – it was a BIG birthday for me this year. I think that’s one of the reasons my mother wanted us all together. I teased my cousin because I’m much older than she is but she turned 38 and a week later her daughter turned 16. Then I had to suck it up because she reminded me that Andrew will be 24 in December. I should have known better.

I’m glad Bailey will be visiting but I’m really happy that BLB is going back to school. He must be on the top of the world. Getting everything back on track will really take some pressure off of him.

Viki, it’s not your computer. i checked and at least one of your attempts went to spam. The site probably just hiccuped, sorry! The spam filter is usually pretty good, but every once it a while it catches someone it shouldn’t.

I Hope you had a great birthday! My oldest is getting way too old, too. I’ve suggested he stop it. He ignores me :-)

Bailey’s here now, probably just a day or two. BLB need to go back, and get to school to buy his books. He’ll probably start work next week too–it’ll be a lot but he should be okay.
