Wing Slayer Worthy

I’m so excited to be taking a super awesome online class called DEEP STORY STRUCTURE with Carol Hughs, who has an amazing background. You can see more about the class and Carol here if you click on this Enrollment Information at http://www.occrwa.org/onlineclassSept12.html

Carol has read my books and tells me that I actually know what I’m doing, but most days, it truly doesn’t feel like it. I think this class will help me hone my process into something more manageable.  I rarely try to describe my process because…it’s indescribable. I basically work like a dog until I find the story and every freaking tiny little nuance of the characters and pray like mad that I can bring it all together and make it work. And that involves butt in the chair, writing rewriting and more rewriting. What I lack in talent, I make up for with pure stubbornness. That’s just the plain truth.

Anyway, I’m taking this class while working on two projects.  I never work on two stories at once, and I know at some point, project number two must take a backseat to CAGE. But I have stuff in my head that is clawing to get out, so I’m kind of stuck trying to balance this while taking a HUGE class.

Better than being bored, right? Mwhwahahaha!!!!

In the meantime, I’ve not had great luck finding Wing Slayer Hunter candidates (that I can buy rights to use in my price range). So today, I’m going for pure, wet, beefcake. You may have seen him before, but I don’t think you’ll mind the repeat!

So what do you think? Wing Slayer Worthy?

How exciting! Excellent to be given positive comments right off the bat, but we could have told you that you knew what you were doing too ;).
It sounds like you’re taking on quite a bit – two stories at once.

I’m giving him a Worthy. He’s nice and wet with the proper size towel :).

    Have a great day!

What is the saying? If you want something done give it to a busy (insane) person. You are walking the line between busy and insane. I know because I am on the insane side. But the truth is the more I have to do the more I get done because I just don’t have time to do other wise or to put things off. I am finding that my son is the same way. He is playing 2 sports at one time this fall (cross country running and football) and his grades have been the best in 3 years. Plus he has monster stamina and energy.

As for the canidate- worthy. Got to like a company that is “big stocked” with males.

We thrive on insanity, don’t we, witches?!?

Jen, I know the feeling! I’m under hard deadline to get Sean’s story (WOLF MOON) finished and what’s Iffy doing? She’s throwing snippets of the next two Moonstruck books at me! ARGHHHHHHH! I really hope the class helps you, not that I think you need any, but because you think you do. ;)

As for the candidate…Uhm…He looks like his wax job and spray tan got mixed up. Too smooth and sculpted for my tastes but I’ll happily keep Linc and Ram company while the other witches check this guy out! I’m self-sacrificing like that. :D

Viki, LOL on the towel size!

The positive comments are nice, however because I am weird beyond words, they often ignite a panic in my that it was all a fluke and I’ll never be able to do it again. This is the point where I really don’t know how Wizard lives with me.

I don’t want to write two stories at once,I really don’t!

Wow, Kat, your son is amazing! I did my three miles at the gym and lost all desire to move unless it’s to get more coffee. Love your son’s energy!

So true about a busy person, but I’m definitely straining my creative side here and I know it. At some point, I’ll be happy that I’ve got enough on Project 2 and concentrate everything on CAGE.

Silver, what? You want Real Men? :-) And yeah, you’re self sacrificing is legendary! Hey how’s your back/neck? Better?

I don’t take a lot of classes (other than research) anymore, mostly because I know it’s dangerous to mess with my ugly process too much. But I love, love, love layering and this class is really about that and giving true depth to our stories.

    Good luck with Iffy!

Cool about the class – not that I think you need a class or anything. But if it’s fun for you and helps keep those skills sharp, yay for you. =o)

I can’t imagine you ever having time to be bored. Heh, you have to pencil that in from time to time. 10:15-10:30 – Boredom.

Sorry about this one, Jen, but no. Something about him… I won’t say what (I think I’ve ruined too many of these for other people)… is throwing me off.

Nope, I don’t mind at all – he’s a bit ‘polished’ but I think I can look past that or maybe he just needs to get dirty again …

Gonna check out that link – you truly inspire me to keep at it Jen :D

B.E., feel free to ruin! It’s all in fun :-)

I don’t do bored well. But I do sit around at night before bed–read or watch TV. I’m not always working, really! And when I’m reading a really good book, I will read instead of working.

The class is interesting so far! I seriously doubt much will change in my process but I’m going to try.

Just like you’re going to keep writing and submitting, yes????

Ban, I agree on the polish, but like you, am willing to overlook it!

I’m not sure how I inspire you to keep at it, but I’m so happy to hear it! This business can crush us and we need friends and supporters.

Busy, insane, isn’t that standard operating procedure for the average witch? The class sounds really interesting. I hope you enjoy it.

Kat, congrats on keeping up with your son! That’s amazing doing cross-country at the same time as football. I can barely keep up with my two girls’ single sport activities and the other various activities.

As for towel boy, yes he’s too polished. He needs a scar or interesting tattoo or something. However, I still think he’s kind of yummy. He just needs the right witch to scruff him up a bit.

LOL, if you insist… His pecs, stomach and navel look like a face to me. I can’t look at the guy without laughing. And the one pec is higher than the other, so it looks like he’s giving the old ‘oh ho, is that so?’ face. ROFL

And yes, I will keep writing and submitting. Today I took my perfectly lovely 2pg synopsis and trimmed it down to one for a couple agents I want to query. Tomorrow, those will go out. I can take jumping through hoops as long as they aren’t flaming. ;o)

Julie, I am enjoying the class, thanks!

Ohh, I would love a scar on him!

B.E., ROTFL!!! I’d never have seen that without your help! Too funny!

That’s so hard to get it down to the one-page synopsis. More of a backcover blurb and those are difficult. Congrats on doing it! Now keep going, don’t even think about flaming hoops. You can do it!
