Weekend Roundup

Wizard talked me into going to the car show over the weekend, and as usual, once he dragged me out of my cave, I had fun.

So did Linc. He said he’s going to buy this car:

A Viper of course. That man does love his Vipers.  Probably because before I meant Linc, one of my sons was obsessed with Vipers :-)

Wizard loved the Mustang and other power cars.  He was like a kid around all those cars! Sort of like me around dogs.

Sunday I wrote quite a bit.  I also just finished the Deep Story Online class and got a lot out of that.  I’ve been pretty much doing that all along, but what this class helps me with is understanding quicker what is NOT working in my stories, and gives me tools to fix it.

Okay, you’re turn. How was your weekend?

I love that car. Thanks for going to the show and sharing the photo. Vipers are so cool. The nice thing about them is they’re still a stick. So many muscle cars have converted over to auto so everyone can drive them. I like the feel of the tough car.

That on line class sounds like it was really good. Knowing how to spot when things aren’t quite going right will save you some massive frustration.

My girlfriends daughter is home from college so we met for coffee Saturday. We had a nice 1 1/2 chat. It’s funny to see her being all grown up and she’s only been gone 2 months.

We brought all the plants into the sun room so now it looks like a jungle. I also switched out my summer clothes.

John made dough for “his” sugar cookies. Don’t know how these will be. He’s gone off the deep end on all white food so he used wheat flour. We’ll find out when he bakes them Tuesday night.

    Have a great day!

Ooo, pretty shiny car. I’m not much into cars myself. We do watch that show Fast n Loud – two guys finding old cars and fixing them to sell – which is neat. And I just found Texas Car Wars. It amuses me. But in the end, if it gets me from point A to point B, I don’t care what it looks like. (As evidenced by my hail riddled, dirty Cavalier.)

My weekend alternated between super busy and lethargic. On the busy side, I was editing and hammering out submission materials (query, synopsis). On the lethargic side, I read a bunch, watched football and baseball, napped.

That car is sooooo Linc! The gun show was in town here. *waggles brows*

So glad that class worked for you, Jen! I love those writing process light bulb moments. I finished up WOLF and sent it off to edits. I should have started on final edits for my humorous contemporary novella about the fifty-something wedding planner who falls for the father of the bride when they came in yesterday but there was play-off baseball two watch and steak to eat out. They shouldn’t take long,. :D I’ll whip it into shape today in between roofing estimates.

Read while I did laundry. Did lots of little projects.

I like to look at the cars at the shows but would not want to own one. Nor would I want to be involved with a Motor Head that treated his car better than me. I want to be the only hot ride in the household.

Yea right I am more like BE’s caviler I get form one place to another and some times just barely

Viki, I want to know how the cookies turn out with wheat four–that’s usually heavier. Should be interesting.

Sounds like you had a great time with your friend’s daughter. It’s amazing how fast college (in some cases) matures the kids. I love seeing my friends kids grown up!

BLB is a huge Viper fan. I’m not a car person, but being around Wizard and the three boys, I inadvertently learn things.

A sun room sounds so classy :-) Here in CA, all rooms are sun rooms most of the year round.

B.E., so are you close on your submission? This one is for the contest right?

I’m not a car person, but I married a man who is mildly into cars. He also keeps our cars clean–both of them. Or I’d probably be driving a dirty car :-)

Silver, you have to get a new roof?

    Love the wedding planner premise!

Congrats on sending WOLF off to edits. You’re on a roll now.

I’d be lost at a gun show :-)

Kat, LOLOL!! I’ve got to tell Wizard that I want to be the only hot ride in the household. He’ll love that!

Glad you found your reading time around doing laundry.

Hmmm, I should have taken that class – in other news, I just wrote 3,347 words of chapter #22 !!!
My youngest would be cheering with the Wizard – she has a fondness for Mustangs, thanks to Spirit ;)

This is for the Harper/Voyager unagented submission window – that closes on the 14th. I’m getting close, but there’s still a lot to do. ticktickticktick…
