Wing Slayer Worthy

I’m going to the dentist today to get a tiny cavity filled.  Because the dentist is so far away from us, it’s a half day process at least. It’s really time to find one closer to home.

In a change of topics, I really don’t care for the book I’m reading. Don’t you hate that? I’m not going to name  the book, it’s just not for me. And hello–three points of view in FIRST PERSON can be a little crazy annoying confusing pointless and freaking exhausting daunting to read.

Let’s move on before I slide into a full blown rant, shall we? For the record, I demanded suggested to today’s candidate that he take his shirt off in order to give all the witches a better view.

All I got in response was a smirk.  Whatever, he’s the one being judged, not me!

So what do you think? Wing Slayer Worthy?

I’ll probably be even later than usual commenting since I’ll be at the dentists and doing random errands while I’m out.

Yes, he’s worthy in my book :).

Good luck at the dentist. Having one closer to home would be less stressful.

It really bugs me when I don’t like the book I’m reading too. Especially if it has all these great reviews. I’m always torn about giving up on the read. Finally decided to institute the 100 page rule. If I still don’t like it by 100 pages I stop reading it.

Try and have a good day even if you do have to get a small filling.

Ack. I picked up and put down two different books yesterday – an MG and a YA. Both had something I found offensive within the first chapter (one on the first page but I forged through a whole chapter). On the upside, I also read Silver’s Wolf Moon yesterday – which is AWE-SOME – and I started JB Lynn’s Further Confessions of a Slightly Neurotic Hitwoman, too, so the day wasn’t a total reading FAIL.

I think he’d fit right in with the other Slayers. But I’m a sucker for dark hair and light eyes. And he looks like he actually did something productive for that body – not hours in the gym.

    Good luck at the dentist!

Ok I confess if a book starts to be something I can’t truely get into- I read the end of the book. If the end is really disappointing I put the book away. If the ending is ok I usually keep going just to see how the author gets there. Some times it depends on what I am reading for- I have read some disappointing books in a series but than the next book renews my interest with a character I found appealing in book one. I have also sort of rewritten stories in my head if I didn’t like exactly the prose or the plot but was interested in the characters or setting.

Take it with you to the Dentist- it has got to be better than getting a filling done.

Oh I forgot the WS worthy guy. I like the black and white image. Must be the phase of the moon because he is just not really catching my attention.

Welllllll hello there, handsome. *purrrrrr* Okay. I admit, he’s not classically handsome but I like my men on the rugged side and holy hotdog, Batman, just…*purrrrrr*

He can stay. At my house. I’ll make him a bed in my office. Lawyer Guy won’t mind. Really. *nodnodnodnod*

Ugh on the dentist and having to drive so far to get there. Glad it’s a small filling but….driving. I have so many books stacked in my TBR shelves and on the Kindle, plus contest entries that HAVE to be read, I’ve gotten less tolerant. I don’t have much time for reading anyway so I want the biggest bang for my buck, as it were. If I’m not caught up in the book, I ditch it. If it’s just “meh”, I’ll put it back on the shelf to check out at a later date. A lot of times, though, the book goes into the giveaway pile or gets sent back to the cloud where it languishes.

B.E., you make me  I’m so glad you enjoyed WOLF MOON. Sean is a favorite but don’t tell him that. If his head gets any bigger, I won’t be able to live with him! (FYI, Jen’s WS candidate could be a good model for Rudy Tornjak, the hero in ROGUE MOON (coming eventually. )

I’m w/ Silver. I like ’em on the rugged side. He’s yummy :D

Ewww. The dentist for a cavity :( Not my idea of fun.

I’ve had books like that too. I had one that frustrated me so much that I threw it across the room. (And I never treat my books like that!) The author kept switching verb tenses. Really? Who told her she could write? Using one verb tense throughout was one of the first things I learned about writing. Soooo annoying and frustrating to read.

    Happy Hump Day, witches!

Viki, sheesh look how late I am today! The day really got away from me. But it’s been good, got things done.

    Dentist went fine, very easy.

I got half way through the book then area something else. Your 100 page rule is a good one, though I sometimes give up before then if I have other books I desperately want to read. But I may finish the book as I’m curious about one thing.

B.E., sounds you were going through the same thing with the books you were reading. Plus you’re probably in that let-down phase after pushing so hard to get your submission done and out the door. Sometimes I can settle right into a book after that, and sometimes, and other times not so much.

    I like the guy too!

I’m going to read Silver’s book soon! Maybe next!

Kat, you read the end of the book? No no no! That’s not allowed! LOL, I’m teasing! I sometimes have to force myself NOT to do that when I’m dying to find out how a story turns out. In this book I’m reading, I might do that just because I can’t take much more of the shifting 1st person POVs.

It’s okay if you’re not feeling him, he’s just not for you. We all have different tastes :-)

Silver, I just bought WOLF’S MOON thanks to B.E.’s reminder! I will read it soon, and looking forward to it!

The driving and traffic is the worst part of the dentist. I don’t fear needles and the rest was easy. Rather deal with needles that stupid traffic.

You seem to like today’s candidate… :-) I really like him, love the rugged more mature look. But I’m thinking LG might have a little problem with him sleeping in your office.

Dawn, switching tenses? That would give me a headache!

One book I read, ON THE ISLAND, switched 1st person POV between the hero and heroine, and I had no trouble with that so I guess it’s also the skill level of the writer. In fact–in that book the author drew me into a premise that I normally don’t like at all.

Glad you like the candidate too!

Oh and dentist was fine. And since I was in that area, I did some shopping too.

UGH – I read a book like that once. It flopped between 1st his view, 1st her view and 3rd for everyone else – it was a mess !!! I had to put it down.
I think he’s WS worthy even though he’s not to my tastes. There’s no doubt he can kick some serious butt ;)

Awwww, thanks, Jen. I’m interested in hearing what you think about it. :D Glad the dentist went well and you got a lot of stuff done today!
