Happy Friday!

Yesterday, I sent off THE PROPOSITION to my editor for her last round of edits.  I think I’ve done a decent job, but we’ll see what she says.  I probably won’t get them back until after the holidays.  Once I do those final edits, it goes off for proofreading. Then formatting and I’ll have it up by the February 26th launch date. Although I’m self publishing this series, it’s going through the same (brutal!) revision and editing process as my NY published books.

Right now, this book is just a shade under 200 pages. I’m happy with that length since I have at least five planned :-)  After the holidays, I’ll release an excerpt.

I managed to get a chunk of shopping done too. I still have more to do but I’m making progress, so it’s all good.  Even better, my cold is improving. In fact, I saw my doctor for a routine visit on Wednesday.  He frets when I’m sick, claiming I minimize pain or illness.  So he did his  exam over my pointless protests then said, “You don’t need antibiotics. You have a cold.”

Well duh.  I’m pretty sure that’s what I said. Like…four times.”  I might gripe, but in reality, I am truly grateful for my doctor.  He saved me from a life I don’t even want to contemplate.  I am thankful and appreciative every day that I can get up and live my life.  But he’s still over protective, LOL! He and Wizard both! Oh and Biker Witch :-)

Enough of that! So this weekend will be more shopping, some family stuff and who knows what else. Now if only I could find out what middle son wants. I’m reduced to begging him for ideas.

What about you guys? Are you still shopping? Anyone wrapping yet? Baking? Parties? Let’s breakout the appletinis and cookies, and ring in the weekend!

Great news on THE PROPOSITION. I’m looking forward to the excerpt. The 200 page length sounds good too since there are at least 4 more coming :).
I think I like your doctor. He takes good care of you.
Shopping – yuck! How I wish I were done. Still nothing for the hubs or youngest kid. I also have to get something for ( I know it sounds crazy but we’re all friends) the first wife.
So my weekend will be making fudge, doing cards and shopping.
    Have a great one ;)!

So cool on The Proposition- of course you are holding it to the same expectations as you other works even if you are self publishing. Your commitment to quality in your work is not based on a publishing method: it is based on the fact that you love the story and love to write.

My son is going winter camping with his scout troop. I wish I knew where I could send the hub so my daughter and I could have a girl’s weekend with out the grump guys.

You all do realize that “shop” is a four letter word just like “snow”

My daughter and I will decorate and she is going to the opening of the Hobbit with her dad so she is excited.

I do plan to make some snicker doodles and other cookies this weekend- Send Ram my way.

Congratulations on getting The Proposition sent off. I look forward to 2/26. =o) I’m glad your cold is improving and it’s awesome that you have a doc you love and trust. That’s so hard to find.

One thing about this year’s agreement to not buy presents is no wrapping! Yay! And the cookie baking is way down because I do not need to gain another 15 lbs like a did a couple Decembers ago. I did make fudge, though. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without fudge.

Viki, glad you’re back! How’s your son feeling?

Things like being friends with your husband’s ex doesn’t sound weird anymore. And I’m all for being friends. Enemies take too much energy :-)

Ugh on shopping. I’m heading out again. Rinse and repeat.

    Fudge, yum!

Kat, thanks so much for saying that on my commitment to quality. I can’t stress how strongly I feel about that. I may fall short, but I know I’ve been my best effort into it.

I’m with you on shopping, but I’m keeping a good attitude so far.

Hope your husband finds something to keep busy this weekend and you can have your girls weekend!

    Ohhh, Ram loves snickerdoodles!

B.E., Docs like my RA specialist are rare. My regular GP office I avoid if I can.

I rarely make fudge–I gain weight just thinking about it, LOL! I can’t resist it! I bet yours is delicious!

That’s great about the edits. I can’t wait for THE PROPOSAL!

I still have to work tomorrow and I’m already on overtime! I did finish my Xmas shopping (HAHA!) on Wednesday but I haven’t started wrapping yet. I plan to start that this afternoon. Tomorrow after work I hope to be able to help my mom do some baking, just depends on how late I work and how tired I am. I will be helping w/ the baking on Sunday.

    Happy Friday, witches!!

I’m late getting around today. I’ve been glued to the news. So sad!

I fear Amazon is my friend this year. Search, click, pay, wait for it to arrive. I have no decorating done on the inside of the house. That’s on the list for this weekend. Congrats on the edits, Jen. I can’t wait for this new series!

So excited to hear about your progress on the book. Congrats!

My shopping is done. Now for the wrapping.

Spent the last 2 days baking. I give lots for gifts. Total was 750 cookies (three types), 10 pounds of toffee and 30 pounds of fudge (three types). The good news for me is that once I am done with that craziness, I don’t feel like eating any of it.

Dawn, yay for finishing your shopping! I would rather wrap than shop! Although it hasn’t been too bad this year. But I’m glad you’re done, especially with your day job sucking all your time. Hope you can score some time off!

    Enjoy baking with your mom!

Silver, I had to turn the TV off yesterday. It’s awful beyond words. I saw the breaking news on my phone when I was out shopping, but didn’t read it until I got home. My heart breaks for everyone.

Amazon is a great way to shop! I plan to point and click more in the future.

    Have fun decorating!

Labrat11, you’re shopping is done too? Awesome!

And WOW!!! That’s a lot of baking! 750 cookies and 30 pounds of fudge? A tip of my witch (and bakers!) hat to you!
