Happy Friday!

I miss writing so much! Seriously!

Yesterday was a frenzy of cookie making; Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate-Raspberry thumbprint,  Orange cookies dipped in chocolate and almonds. I also finished making some chocolate Kahlua truffles.

And BLB came over! So great to see him. He’s doing well. Just finished his semester at college. He looks good. He taste-tested the cookies and the peanut butter balls I made the other day :-)

Today, I’m baking Star Bites (short bread cookies, cut into small stars with a ganache filling), Raspberry hearts (short bread cookies with a raspberry filling), mocha cookies, tea cakes and lemon cookies. I also need to make a layered lemon-cheesecake to take to a party on Saturday.

Biker Witch is coming  over to help in the afternoon.  By then, I’ll be exhausted, and she and Wizard will probably gang up on me and tease me. But it’ll be fun.

We have a family Christmas party on Sat.

What are you all doing? Is everyone getting worn down or do the holidays energize you?

(I’m hoping to get back here Monday to wish you all a Merry Christmas!)

WOW! My mouth is watering. The Kahlua truffles wouldn’t last long around me ;).
So happy to hear BLB came over and is a great taste tester.
I have to get wrapping and cleaning tomorrow. I don’t know why we do this to ourselves every year but we always do :).
    Have a wonderful weekend!

Wow, you are a cookie-baking machine. I’m impressed. I’d tell you not to overdo it, but it sounds like you’re having a blast, so why mess with it. ;o)

Yay for BLB doing well. I’m so happy for him. High five.

It’s the Friday before Christmas. Nothing’s wrapped. I keep getting distracted from cleaning (which I’m easily distracted from anyway). We weren’t doing much for presents – until husband talked me into it at the last minute. So instead of my super-simple holiday, I’ve got a rush here at the end. But it’s all good. As long as everyone’s happy on Tuesday, I’m happy.

Have a wonderful pre-Christmas weekend, and if I don’t see y’all before the big day, have a Merry Christmas, witches!

Weekend finish the christmas shopping. Make gift jars for work.

Read Read Read. I learned a new word for what I am- I am a Librocubicularist- Some one who does something with a book in a bed chamber- More commonly a person who reads in bed.

OH Ram I have snickerdoodles and packages to carry to the car from shopping could you please come help?

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Have fun baking the rest of your cookies. Those orange ones sound amazing! Mom and I made those Neiman Marcus ones too :) It’s probably the most used cookie recipe in house.

The holidays tend to wear me out. The jobs I’ve had have been ones that are really busy at the holidays, retail and shipping. The rush at my current job is over now, though. So we all have a few days to rest before Xmas :D

I’m going to see a movie with a friend I haven’t seen for a few weeks on Saturday evening. Sunday will be spent cleaning. Monday I have to work for a few hours. Then I’ll be heading to my aunt’s house for Christmas Eve dinner. Christmas is at the parents house. My sister and her husband are coming in Christmas day. And, yay, I have the following day off as well!! I’m soooo looking forward to having two day in a row off :)

I may not have time to stop by and say hi on Monday. So have a Merry Christmas, witches! I hope everyone’s day is happy and peaceful :)

Kat – I’m a Librocubicularist too. Now if only I could figure out how to pronounce it ;).

Vicki I have no idea of how to say it. I have it written on a post it note so I know how to spell it.

Ha! I now know who the *real* Cookie Witch is! Busy lady, Jen, but they all sound fabulous. Don’t wear yourself out.

    Merry Christmas, witches!

Viki, I’m a day late! LOL! So I imagine you’re cleaning today–hope it goes fast. And we do it to ourselves every year.

I made Kahlua and Raspberry truffles. Wizard said the Raspberry are even better than Kahlua. Also made 8 different kinds of cookies. I also made a pie to take today.

Biker Witch and I had a blast yesterday :-)

B.E., have you ever read, or seen the movie, SKIPPING CHRISTMAS? That’s what your holiday sounds like :-) I’d probably have ended up doing the same thing.

I enjoy baking, so the tired and achy is worth it. Plus Biker Witch came and helped with some of it. We always have fun together. Although she and Wizard were making fun of my shirt covered in flour.

Hope your holiday is fun and joyous!

Kat, I’ve been thinking about how cool those gift jars would be. I think I’ll do that next year!

I can’t spell or pronounce that word. My brain stuttered just trying to read it, LOL!

Ram heard the word Snicker doodles and left–he should be there now. I didn’t make those so he was pouting. (He says he doesn’t pout–looked like pouting to me!)

Hi Jenn – I’m done :)! Well sort of.

I have PeeWee and clan coming over tomorrow after John and I get home from the children’s mass at his church. I love the little kids. They are so excited but are on their best behavior because Santa will be coming soon :).

I hope you’re all done and getting to enjoy everything now.

If you get a chance could you post a link to the recipe for both truffles?

It would be fun to have a live video feed of you and Biker Witch making cookies. It had to be a blast.

How was the party? Ours was yesterday and it was really nice.

If I don’t get back here before Christmas I wish you, your family and all the witches present: A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Viki, I’ve had the Kaluha truffle recipe for a while, but I think I found it here http://beyondwonderful.com/recipes/desserts/chocolate/chocolate-kahla-trufflesrecipe/

The raspberry one, I adjusted myself, using some seedless raspberry jam and extract–but I didn’t measure, sorry! Wizard thinks the raspberry are the bets. Someday I’ll use Raspberry liquor, but it can be pricey :-)

We have some pics of Biker Witch and me. Wizard wants to video me baking one day–we have this idea…but we’ll probably never follow through. Once we’re back to work, we’re no fun.

Have a great holiday with Pee Wee! Bailey’s coming over Christmas Eve, and I can’t wait to see him.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    Thank you Jenn :).

I hope you have all kinds of fun with Bailey. Pee Wee was so funny last night. He was opening John’s gifts but not his own. It’s amazing what those little teeth can do to wrapping paper :).

    Have a wonderful day!
