Happy Friday!

Another insane week. My Firefox browser crashed the other day, that was fun. I managed to get it back, so I’m not complaining.  It could have been much worse.

You know what floors me? I to go for a routine medical test. (Which everyone knows makes me cranky, but I did it! And it’s really routine, nothing is wrong with me.) But the technician doing the test found out that I’m a writer and insisted I tell  him how much money I make. I mean he would not let it go.  Talk about uncomfortable.

Tomorrow, I’m going to my local chapter meeting.  Patrick Brown from Goodreads is our speaker, so that should be really interesting.  I’m really REALLY slammed on work, but Wizard insists I need to get out and I think he’s right. So I’m going :-)

What are you doing this weekend?

Have a great weekend!

Oh boy – I would have just come out and told the guy that it’s none of his business what you make. I bet he doesn’t tell people his income.

I hope you have a great time at your meeting. Wizard is right, you need to get out. Take some time to have fun with people you enjoy :).

I’m not doing much this weekend as I’m stranded. On my way to BMW and coffee Wednesday I almost had a head on with a truck (he was in my lane) and took the ditch instead. My car got beat up and I’m not risking driving it. It goes in the shop Monday. I think all the snow kept it from being worse, since it kind of absorbed the energy.

    Have a great weekend!

The nerve of some people. If you see him again, give him this and tell him to leave you alone: http://amazingstoriesmag.com/2013/02/dont-quit-your-day-job-traditional-publishing-by-the-numbers/

Have fun at your chapter meeting. Wizard’s right. You do deserve a bit of a break every now and then.

Ack, Viki. That must’ve been pretty scary. I’m glad you’re okay. :hugs:

This weekend will be more of the usual – minus the football. I’m back to a point in my WIP where I’m out of hand-written pages again, so I either have to sit down and write those or I have to suck it up and see if I can get some words on the screen. (I have no clue why I can’t seem to write new words at the keyboard these days. Stupid picky-ass muse.) Either way, I should roll over 10K this weekend. =o)

Viki glad you are ok. Some of those ditches can be deep but you made the better choice.

BE- Ever look into those Electronic Pen’s that when you write on the special paper you can then down load the Pen to your computer. I have seen one at the local Best Buy and have really been thinking that if I ever get into writting that would be what I would need to use.

This weekend I will be working on things like installing a pellet stove and wood flooring in the house. :-D

So after listening to my husband cuss, cruse and yell through the home improvement projects I will be ready to decompress.
Jen does laying in bed reading a book with a fuzzy cat on top of you count as decompressing? I hope so.

Jen, I would have mentioned the tech’s…impertinence to someone in charge. That’s not only rude but an ethical violation. I gave up on Firefox and moved to Chrome. I was able to transfer all my bookmarks so it’s all good. Anything is better than IE.

If there’s a Q&A period with Mr. Brown, could you maybe ask him a question for me, if someone else doesn’t? I’d sure like to know how there can be reviews for books that not only haven’t been released but haven’t even finished the editing process, and what an author can do about them. But only if you get the chance. Thanks! I’m with Wiz. You always have fun and chapter and come back enthused.

Viki, ACK! So glad you’re okay. Did you get the license plate of the truck? He/his company bears some responsibility for the cost of fixing your car!

B.E. WRITE! But you remind me of my CP. She does everything by hand and then transfers it to her computer. Maybe she should look into one of those pen thingamagigs too. Good idea, Kat! And yes, cat on butt while owner of said butt reads is very decompressing!

My weekend will be spent finishing up final edits and formatting on BRIDE’S MOON, and reading contest books. I made it through the first set of RITA books, through the Golden Heart entries, and now I’m on my second set of RITAs. Reading out of my normal preference so it’s kind of cool. :D

TGIF, witches! Here. Have some cookies and appletinis. ;)

OMG Viki! I’m so glad you avoided the head on! That’s so scary. I’m really sorry about your car, but every relieved you’re okay. That was too close a call.

I would have handled that situation a lot differently if I hadn’t been in a closed room with the guy. And I wasn’t in the best of areas to begin with. The problem with these situations when they are in a medical setting–they have all my information including my address.

Stay home and safe this weekend!

B.E., I wish I’d had that to give him! A great article.

So you’re basically doing a first draft by hand, and when you type it in–are you making changes, essentially turning it into your second draft? My feeling is–if the process works for you, don’t mess with it!

I write on the computer, but I plot/think on paper. It’s just how my brain likes to process ideas so I do it.

    Go get your 10K words!!!!

Kat, that sounds like the best kind of decompressing! And I love how you’re planning ahead for stress, LOLOL!

I’m jealous of your wood flooring! After some serious thought, I think I’m not going to do that simply because of the upkeep for me. I want them–I don’t want to take care of them :-) But I bet yours will be gorgeous!

Silver, I think every author has that same question! while Goodreads has a TOS (terms of service) “reviewers” aren’t following it. At least that’s what I’m told. But I will try to ask to see what the official line is.

In some cases, I know Laura marked PROPOSITION as a five becase she was critiquing as I worked on it–so she really had advance knowledge even before I had a polished product. But that was “fair” in my opinion. She had real knowledge of the book. But other ones baffle me.

Wow you’re busy! That’s a lot of reading! So when will BRIDE’S MOON be up?

I definitely make changes as I’m typing in. Sometimes I switch the wording, sometimes I add in depth, and sometimes I have to fake my way through because I can’t read my own handwriting. ;o)

Just got final edits back and now for the formatting. I hope to have it uploaded by Sunday at the latest. :)

B.E. I say leave your process alone then. You’re getting your rough draft in long hand, and if it works, don’t mess with it!

Silver, that’s great news! Remind us on Monday so I can buy it!
