Weekend Roundup

It’s been a completely wild ride the first week out with THE BABY BARGAIN.  Color me stunned and all kinds of happy with how well it’s doing.  I owe a huge thanks to my Street Team from the the Lyon’s den, all the awesome reviewers and the publicity team at Entangled!

I also had an inquiry about audio rights on THE PROPOSITION which is super amazing. That book is getting attention.  That is due, again, to the hard work of my street team and to Carla and Book Monster Promotions for getting the word out!

Now with all this going on, three plus more books due this year and one early next year…is this the time to be…

REMODELING?

Of course not.

So what are Wizard and I doing?

Yeah, we’re interviewing contractors for some work in the house.  It won’t be extensive, just getting started on a few things. New counter tops, sinks, medicine cabinets and mirrors in the two upstairs bathrooms to start with. Then later updating some lighting in the family room and kitchen. Eventually granite…but one step at a time, and as much as our budget can handle.

So this weekend was mostly a blur.  I’ve started reading THE STILLNESS OF YOU by Julie Bale, but haven’t had much time to read.

How about you? How was your weekend?

I am so happy that The Baby Bargain is so successful. I’ve loved it.

Maybe the remodeling project will help get Sloane to behave ;).

I went to the mall and got the eggs for Easter. It’s all I’m giving my grown family this year.

The other day the 24 yr old was going on about his trip last yr to the Keys and how he made Key Lime pie and really loved it. So I was at the store and saw a Key Lime cake mix and as a joke bought it. I made it yesterday for St. Patty’s Day and they LIKED it. I was totally shocked.

Have a great week and have fun picking out new fixtures and stuff :).

Yay for the success of The Baby Bargain and The Proposition! Let’s keep it rolling and see where it goes. =o)

Remodeling? Seriously? You two are a little bananas. Of course, I’m right in the middle of a pile of stuff, so the thought of adding more to the pile makes me doubt my own sanity.

The weekend was a blur. I know I got a couple more pages written on Saturday and I read a lot that day, too. Yesterday, though, was me stuffing books into boxes for this weekend’s pending yard sale. Keep your fingers crossed the weather is nice. I need to get rid of all this stuff.

Unfortunately I have to words that describe my last 4 days…… Kindney Stones. I did natural birth with my son I can take a lot of pain but yes for passing a stone I beg for the morphine. So I am coming off my pain med cloud and am having a monday at work. I start my computer and my desk top is gone. Nothing on there but the recyle bin 8-O

Thankfully I did not touch anything and my supervisor told me it was just hiding and he found it. I just want to go back to bed now.

Oh Kat – you poor thing. I’ve never had them but have known those who have passed stones. Any type of “real” pain killer should be used fully. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

B.E. – You’re a better woman than me. You couldn’t pay me to do a yard sale. I give all my stuff to Purple Heart and Easter Seals because I would not be able to handle all that a yard sale entails. I wish you great success in selling at the best cost recovery ;).

I’m late getting around today! Kat!!!!! You poor thing. Hope you are feeling better soon and thank goodness your computer was just playing tricks on you but…Bad computer!

B.E., good luck with the sorting, boxing, etc. And yay for writing!!!

Ooh, Viki! I love key lime pie. I’ll have to keep my out out for the key lime cake mix, or find a recipe for it!

Jen? Words fail me. Of course, I have no room to talk on the remodeling. We’ll be doing a new roof soon and then it’s the main bath. *sigh* I’m not surprised about your success! You write good stuffs, woman!!! :D

Viki, we’ve been in our house for something like 16 years, it’s time. Plus three boys in that bathroom…LOLOL!!!

Wow, Key Lime cake. There’s something I’d never have thought of. Ever.

You’re so nice to your family on Easter. I haven’t even thought of it.

B.E., I think you’re my neighbor in crazy-town right now :-) I know it’s nuts, but Wizard does so much of the running around, tracking down contractors and scheduling, I’m kind of embarrassed at my own laziness. Okay not laziness I’m working 10 hour days and he LIKES doing that stuff so it works out.

A yard sale? Done it and don’t plan to do it again! Hope it turns out great!

OMG Kat! I’ve heard horror stories about kidney stones. I am so sorry. The stones are gone now, right? But should you even be at work? Your body has been through a trauma.

And then to have that kind of computer troubles? Man you are having a rough time of it. I’m crossing my fingers that your week improves 150%!

Silver, thank you. I wish I could express how humbled I am by this experience.

Remodel–let’s just say that Wizard’s driving this and I’m kind of just hanging on for the ride.

A new roof? That is a huge hit in the pocketbook plus stress and time.
