Weekend Roundup

Before I forget, today for The Baby Bargain Blog Tour, I’m here at Laurie’s Non-paranormal Thoughts and Reviews.

The weekend was exhausting. Easter was exhausting.  Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of Bailey.  I did, however, make Bailey a special piece of bacon that I crumbled in his food. That dog now thinks I’m a goddess :-)

I also watched Bailey help himself to a couple licks of Middle Son’s (he’s an adult) gin and tonic while Middle Son was in the jacuzzi and not watching. Then I watched Middle Son drink it. After I was done amusing myself I told Middle Son–who shrugged and laughed. Middle Son is too funny. Very little freaks him out. (Bailey didn’t drink much, I would have stopped him.)

So we’re set to have the bathroom granite put in April 12th. Then the next day the sinks and plumbing will be done. I’m excited to be getting work done, but frankly, Wizard’s doing the lion’s share of organizing this.  I’m pretty much chained to the computer.

However Friday night Wizard announced we were going to Home Depot to buy the sinks and hardware like faucets, towel racks, etc.  I was like…Yay, because my day started at just after 6am  in the gym and I’ve been going nonstop since then. Now it’s after 7pm and I get to go to Home-Freaking-Depot, oh double yay.

Wizard is staring at me warily… “Is is safe for you to be in public? You’ve been working a lot and you look a little…stressed.”
“No worries I’m fine. Let’s go.”

So we went. Bought stuff. All kinds of shiny stuff. Then we go to get the sinks. We need four, they have one–and I’m not a math genius but I know there’s a problem. So Wizard finds a guy to help. Except…he was confused by his job. So he vanishes.

And we’re waiting, and waiting, and now I’m bored. I’m standing across an aisle from Wizard when I say, “Hey Wizard, this store has cameras right?”

He gets THAT look again. Like I might be ready to snap the last threat tethering me to reality. “Uh, Yeah. Why?”

I start walked toward him. “Where is the cameras?”

His eyes get wide. Then he looks around, spots the camera and points to the ceiling on his right. “There. Why?”

Stopping toe to toe wtih him, I look up. “Cause “I’m going to get us on You Tube.  Or the news.”

His eyes widened.  “How?’

“We’re going to make out.”

After that, time went really fast. Okay, we didn’ t REALLY make out (or at least, I haven’t seen any video proof that we did :-) .  Finally Clueless Worker Guy came back to announce there were no more sinks to be had. By then we laughing like idiots and struggling to pull it together. We made our escape and managed to stop laughing by the time we hit the check out stand with the stuff we did find.

Wizard tracked down the other three sinks we needed on Saturday. Oddly enough, he didn’t ask me to go with him that day.

How was your weekend?

I’m sorry that you’re worn out. You are handling quite a bit right now so it’s very understandable.

Bummer on no photos of Bailey but the story makes up for it. I can easily picture Bailey having a few tastes of the GNT. You didn’t say if he liked it. I’m guessing no.

Wizard is a doll. What a smart guy to take you away Friday night. Getting you out was a good stress reliever even if you had to make out in the store ;).

My weekend was spent still hacking away and then John came down with a cold. Men re so funny when they get sick. They revert back to being infants and can do absolutely NOTHING. I do hope we get it under control because I don’t want him to get as sick as I was.

For Easter dinner I made the lasagna and salad. Youngest ate like I’ve never fed him :). I also made cookies and gave them their Godiva chocolate eggs (big hit).

I hope you have a great week.

ROFL… that story was awesome. I usually just get bored and make faces at the security camera, or wave, or dance in front of one. I like your idea better. You should call Home Depot and tell them you want a copy of that camera footage – so you can put it on YouTube (or just watch it at home.)

Thanks, Jen. I needed a laugh this morning. After a weekend of massive packing and killer cleaning, I’m done in. And we’re not finished. And I have to drive 700 miles later this week behind a U-Haul filled with my love and all our belongings while I’m accompanied by two cats. Why did I agree to this?

Oh, cuz I have a pretty house waiting for me at the other end, where we can relax and enjoy life. This chaos is just the price we’re paying upfront for all that goodness. ;o)

*GIGGLESNORT* Jen, you crack me up! I want to follow you around with a camera. You could be your own reality show. Just sayin’! Our first Newf, Kaiser, loved beer. We took him everywhere and he would mooch beer from the soldiers in LG’s unit. And because my homemade yeast rolls sort of reminded him of the smell of beer, he would try to scarf the raw dough when I had it on the counter rising.

Viki, hoping you and DH get well soon. Hacking is no fun. And B.E., wish I was there to help you pack! Good luck with the move!

Viki, I’m hearing that cough doesn’t leave for quite a while. I feel so bad for you! Even worse now that your hubby is sick. They are huge babies. It’s a joke in our house. Wizard and oldest are big babies when they have a cold.

Your family is lucky to get Godiva eggs! Mine boys got Easter baskets, which they were surprisingly happy with. Grown men still like Easter baskets from their mom.

Your dinner and cookies sound wonderful!

Baily didn’t love the Gin and Tonic but he didn’t hate it either (like lettuce, he does not like lettuce at all.) But he likes beer. I was shocked Middle Son let me give him bacon. He’s careful with Bailey’s diet for the most part.

Really hope you can kick that cough. It’s tiring and annoying–generally starting at really inconvenient moments.

B.E., every time I think I’m tired, I think of you packing for a big move and I feel better. I hate moving, but you’re so right, the payoff will be so worth it! You just have to get through this next week, right?

LOL on calling fro the tape. I’m sure they’ve seen some amazing things on those tapes. One my my sons worked for Home Depot for awhile a few years back :-)

Silver, most of the time, Wizard and I are pretty boring. I just like surprising him.

I bet the soldiers loved feeding your dog beer. Besides how do you say no to a Newfoundland? Not only are they big, they have those sweet faces :-)

I’m sorry to hear that you’re so crazy busy, but happy to hear that you’re chained to your computer writing. ;)

My husband quit taking me to Home Depot when I harassed the “Home Depot geek” into tears. Now he goes by himself.

Congrats on the new bathroom. Please take care of you during all this craziness.

Erika, LOL on curing your husband of taking you to Home Depot!

Thanks on my crazy year. There’s no respite, but since it’s 95% good stuff, I’m not complaining, just trying to keep up :-)
