Weekend Roundup

I’m missed Friday’s post, sorry! Everything went like clockwork getting the granite in. Here is the kitchen in the morning before the guy got there. (All the drawers out and the bottom cupboards emptied)

Kitchen before granite 2

And after it was all done, including the new sink and faucet (my old sink had a massively ugly chip in it for a decade or more):

Ktichen Granite Finished

I love it! This exceeded both my and Wizard’s expectations! We waited and saved for a long time, and planned to do this when BLB was injured.  But all the work involved wore us out. Wizard has a cold on top of this.  I have no choice but to keep going on Possession since I’ve lost days of work. Doesn’t matter, I love the book so it’s all good.  Although I did stop long enough to make brownies.  Which, by the way,  I do not need! I can’t get to the gym enough as it is, I don’t need to add brownies in the mix.

So how was your weekend? What have I missed out on?

I love it! The granite looks so good. Having done all this 5 years ago I know the work and saving involved but it is so worth it. When we did it, we did one bathroom and the kitchen all in one day. It’s amazing how two guys can carry in all that stone – muscles YES!

Poor Wizard. Spring/summer colds are so nasty. The weather is beautiful and it just isn’t fair to feel bad. In the winter you kind of expect it.

Saturday I met my girl friend at the mall to help her pick out stuff for the 3 -day she’ll be walking in August. She does it every year. She was so funny picking out her pink shoes and matching laces. The clerk had dollar signs in her eyes and I kind of pulled them out for her. Sandra was all excited and the clerk was taking full advantage.

Don’t work too hard or stress out too much on Possession. It will all come together. We have faith ;).

    Have a great day!

Poor Wizard, I know that its the season for colds, which you would expect more in winter I know, but they are so much worse in adults so I can’t really complain because I just got over one myself (thanks to my nephew) and I can say 16 and over make the worst cold patients. Granite looks fantastic, and who doesn’t need brownies? Remodeling goes a lot faster when there are more muscles to to carry the heavy stuff, my brothers and my dad installed the french doors in our kitchen in no time so I would know.

Don’t work too hard or stress on Possession, we know it’ll be great. I personally cannot wait for it, :-D It’ll all come together in the end, and we do have faith.

It all looks gorgeous, Jen. And you earned the brownies. Just cut them up, wrap them individually, and put them in the freezer. Then you’ll only eat one at a time, and you’ll have to wait for it to defrost before you eat it. (Heh, I couldn’t do it, but it’s a thought.) Sorry the Wiz is under the weather.

The weekend was relaxed. We’re still waiting on the last of the furniture to be delivered, so being all settled here is in a holding pattern. I did manage to get some re-writing done. Watched a bunch of TV. We took a lovely drive yesterday afternoon and got a little lost, but it was a good lost. (As in, ‘hey I don’t know where we are but I wonder what’s down that road’.)

Oh, and Debra Webb is guest posting at The Guide today – talking about Avoiding Career Mistakes. And celebrating the release of her 4th Faces of Evil novel: RAGE. If you get a chance, stop by. =o)

Kitchen looks great. Of course you had to break it in and what better way than Brownies. Wizard lots of OJ and rest. Jen slip some voka in the juice that way you know he will rest. No one needs a sick cranky man in the house when you are trying to write.

BE When I first moved out here my Hub and I took a lot of Sunday drives just to see where this road went…… It has paid off big time now that I know every back road in 3 counties and can get anywhere any how. Plus it was a lot of fun back then to bond and discover our new area. We still know about little place that other people don’t.

Viki – Such will power and you are a great friend. Shoe shopping is a big weakness for so many of my friends too. But to have a clerk be pushy just for money is so not right.

I spent some out doors time. Yea! I don’t often get out to get some sun. Even if I was pulling weeds in the garden it was worth it to be away from four walls for a little bit.

I’m late. :( The CP and I met this morning for coffee and a beeyotch session. We both needed it.

Jen, the granite looks gorgeous! Now, used that as inspiration for POSSESSION. She is a caterer… Just sayin’… ;)

I managed to get over one hump in the WIP. Hopefully, I’m on the downhill slide now. I also cleaned house. Dealt with stupid people. And didn’t get enough sleep. Today was Monday. All day. Please tell me tomorrow will be better!

Sorry everyone for being a day late to comment!

Viki, There one huge piece of stone around my sink all the way to the stove, I don’t know how the guys got it in the house and maneuvered it on. Then they cut the sink. They know what they are doing!

So glad you were with your friend! So uncool of that sales clerk. This is the breast cancer walk?

Amanda, Wizard is feeling better! But you’re right, 16 and over does not make for good cold patients.

Thanks on the granite! I just love it.

I hope so on Possession. I’m happier with the beginning now but have a lot to do yet.

B.E., I didn’t get over to your blog yesterday I’ll try today. So cool that you have Deb there!

Hope that furniture arrive and you can be done! And any writing or rewriting is a good thing!

The brownies are nearly gone :-)

Silver, I still owe you an email :-) So glad you got over that hump, I’m crossing my fingers for smooth sailing now.

Ugh on stupid people. Hoping you’re done with that for awhile.
