Happy Friday!

I don’t know what my weekend plans are at this moment.  I’m a little tangled up in my head right now and not making progress on the book.  But I need to get over it and get started.  Also I need to tame a sinus headache. So lets not talk about me–let’s talk about YOU. Tell me what you’re reading and what your weekend plans are!

Oh and I’m planning to start reading BEAUTY FROM SURRENDER by Georgia Cates. I had planned to start it days ago but then a friend asked me to read her book (pre-published) and I did–loved it! I’ll tell you guys about it when it comes out.

Back to you all! What are you reading?

And just an FYI –these are the last stops for the POSSESSION Blog Tour:

6/07- Night Owl Reviews ( guest post )

06/07 = Hesperia Loves Books (series spotlight & reviews)

6/08 – Scorching Book Reviews (interview)

6/09 – Reading Between The Wines (guest post)

I hope you can just relax this weekend and then the book will start to flow. I can’t even imagine starting a book. Just the first sentence would take me forever.

My copy of AVENGING ANGEL by Cynthia Eden just arrived so I will begin reading it this weekend. I’m just finishing THE ETERNITY CURE by Julie Kagawa. It’s the second in her Blood of Eden series. It’s very good.

My weekend is going to be spent catching up. This week has been one of those taken up with appointments and unexpected events.

Have a really good weekend and enjoy yourself :).

Just chill this weekend and take care of yourself. (Easier said than done, I know.) :hugs:

I’m still in the middle of reading Beyond the Gate by David Farland (Golden Queen #2). It’s pretty awesome but it’s a long book, so it’s taking me a while to read it. And this weekend needs to be for writerly work. Enough screwing around enjoying my little corner of paradise and playing retired lady. I was not the one to retire, so I need to stop acting like it.

I hope the headache goes away. There’s nothing worse than trying to get work done with a headache :(

My BFF is coming down for the weekend. I’m meeting her and the kids for lunch to celebrate my niece’s birthday on Saturday. Another friend is having a graduation party for her daughters the same day. Other than that my plans are to get laundry and cleaning done and finish Nalini Singh’s HEART OF OBSIDIAN.

    Happy Friday!

It is pay day so I have my allowance and I get to hit the book store today. :-D :-D

I am just finishing Debrah Cooke’s Ember’s Kiss so I am caught up on her Dragon’s Novels until 2014 when the next one is out. I also got hold of Stephine Rowe’s Hold me if you Dare. I really liked the humor in the first book Kiss Me if you Dare and I hope the 2nd book is along the same lines.

We are getting rain from Andrea on the inland of the east coast. A rainly weekend is great for my garden and my reading time even if I have to do it under an umbrella in my yard.

You’ll get your head wrapped around the story, Jen. Stop fretting. I’m about 1/3 of the way through THE SHAMBLING GUIDE TO NEW YORK CITY by Mur Lafferty. It’s about a human writing a travel book for the “coterie” (preternatural beings) who live and/or visit NYC. It’s…different. I’m enjoying it so far. When I finish it, I’ll start on Allison Brennan’s STOLEN.

First though, I’m hoping I get my final edits back on ROGUE MOON so I can get it formatted and uploaded over the weekend. Sunday, the kids are coming down and we’re taking everything out of the attic. The roofers are coming next week and they’re stripping off the entire roof so they can replace decking, felt, and shingles. I’m excited but dreading it. I won’t get any work done for the hammering because furry critters will be frenetic! I could be mean and leave them here while I escape someplace quiet like Starbucks. Or the library. Or Panera. But I’m not that cruel. Or stupid because I know what they’ll do if left alone.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

Viki, hope you had fun with your girlfriend the other day. And hope the unexpected events weren’t bad surprises.

I haven’t read either of those, but they sound good!

I went to the gym this morning to vent some stress and fine my “zone.” The trick on writing is to get past the first sentence, paragraph, page and chapter–those can be fixed later. I know this logically but emotionally I’m not that bright :-)

B.E., that’s a fantasy book right? I don’t read those as much anymore because they are a real investment and lately I haven’t had time. My point being, I know what you mean about it taking awhile to get through even when it’s good.

Adjusting to a retired spouse has to be huge–both emotionally and in work! But you’re determined, you’ll write this weekend! Although it’s good to take a break too (or so I’m told, LOL!)

I don’t want to chill, I want to write :-) I want Kat and Sloane to stop hurting so much and cooperate.

Dawn, I hear Nalini’s book is filled with awesomeness! I hope you’re loving it!

Your weekend…man I wish I had your energy, LOL! Hope you have a great time.

I have a sinus headache dogging me, but eventually it’ll go away. They always do.

Kat, yay for payday and the bookstore visit! Best way to start off a weekend!

Gardens love rain as long as it’s not too much. But I’m picturing you gardening under an umbrella :-)

    Have a great weekend!

Silver I’m shuddering at the idea of going through a new roof. I know it’s necessary but wow, that’s going to be a major inconvenience. But once it’s done, it’ll be so pretty and no leaks!

Poor critters! I know you won’t leave them :-)

Let me know when you get ROGUE MOON up!

Hmmmm, I was bored and started reading a free book I got on my Kindle: Fierce Dawn and it’s … well, it’s … it was free ! The concept her merit but the actual writing really falls flat and the author seems way to in love with her own characters – not sure anyone’s gonna understand what I mean by that. It’s like she idolizes them (?) especially the hero. Oh and there are errors galore. Normally I give up on stories that don’t cut it now ’cause there are just too many great ones out there to waste my time on an average one but I wanna know what happens in the end. I’m guessing they gave the first one away free to get you to buy any further installments but that’s not gonna happen.
Anyway, that’s why I’m gonna get some help with editing when I finish my story. I know I make mistakes  The good news is, I’m currently on chapter #28 !!! Yay me
Hope you all have a great weekend !

The Golden Queen series is fantasy mixed with science fiction (or vice versa depending on where you’re at in the books). The world building is really amazing. But yeah, Farland doesn’t write many short books. His Runelords series is straight fantasy and each of those are huge. Thank goodness for Kindle or my hands would fall off from holding them. LOL

Ban, I hear you on free books. I’ve read some super good ones and some I just can’t get into.

I can’t throw stones on errors since I know they are in my books :-( But I had a terrific editor and I think most books need an editor. (And proofreader! I just didn’t have time to get Possession professionally proofread)

Awesome on being on chapter 28!!!

    So glad you stopped by!
