Weekend Roundup

There was a weekend? LOL! Saturday morning I got up way too early so I could worry and fret.  Then while Wizard and I were cooking breakfast, he says, “Tell me.”

“What?”

He gives me that husband look, “You got up before five. Spill it, Witch.”

So did. I told him that I am stuck in a hellish version of the movie Ground Hog Day on the OBSESSION. I explained it’s a major turning point that spins the book and the entire series on a path toward the end. All the time I’m rambling, I know I’m just confusing him. This is the last book in  a three book series. How could he possibly help?

Why do I underestimate the man I’ve been married to so long? Wizard started asking questions and sure enough, came up with a really good idea.  So there we are in our kitchen, so involved in the discussion that we both forgot to finish cooking breakfast.  When we realized that I’d forgotten to start the eggs and he’d forgotten the toast, we laughed.

Eventually we managed to pull breakfast together.

Around a million things going on this weekend, I’ve written pages and feel better now. I just wish I could have done this two weeks ago.  But writing is always more fun under pressure, right?

In other news, we liked our new dentist :-)

And PLAY HARD Anthology is out everywhere except for  iTunes. Here are the links:

Kindle  /  Nook  /  Kobo /  ARe

So how was your weekend?

I love these snippets into your life with Wizard ;). How cool that he’s able to draw just the right info out of you that gets things on track. What a great partner. You didn’t say if you ever accomplished making breakfast?

Great news on the anthology. Saw it mentioned all over this weekend.

Very happy to hear you like your new dentist. I may be seeing mine later today. I woke up Sat. with pain in my jaw and every time I chew it lets me know it. It feels like my bite is off but how could that happen over night. We’ll see. If it’s still hurting when I eat breakfast a call will be made.

    Have a wonderful day!

How awesome is that. You and Wizard sound so neat together. =o) Never underestimate the power of the Wizard (or of a good chat with the one you love.)

LOL, yeah, writing is fun under pressure. Ri-ight. Actually I do seem to get more done when I’m up against it. Which is why I got nada done this weekend. No pressure, so I just vegged out. Of course, now I’m up at 5 am and ready to write. (As soon as I read the blogosphere.)

As for the rest of the weekend, we had 6 does and 3 fawns in the yard yesterday morning. With the 3 bucks we know are in the area, that brings the herd to 12. Unfortunately, we think we lost one of the twins because the 3 fawns all belonged to different mamas. That’s life in the SW MO jungle, I guess. We also heard the coyotes howling up a storm Saturday night. But we still haven’t seen the resident bobcat.

Weekend for me was the old country song “On the Road Again” Drove 6 hours to get the kids from my parents spent 52 hours at their house and drove 6 hours back.

I got to see my brother and his family who flew in from Texas. but still not enough time to visit and to much time driving.

I bet wizard does make a good sounding board when you are stuck. He is not afraid to ask the hard questions and will tell you strait up what he thinks. Every writer needs the honest critic.

Viki, your symptoms sound a lot like TMJ. I hope you called the doctor or dentist.

We managed to cook breakfast finally. We were just amused because we’ve made a zillion breakfasts together and have it down to a finely turned system. One conversation shouldn’t screw it up that way, LOL!

B.E. you do live in the jungle! So fun, and also, a little dangerous. I’m still traumatized over your snake story. I bet it’s very easy for you to get distracted from writing!

Speaking of writing, I too, unfortunately, seem to do better when pressured.

I love that Wizard can still amaze me. (He can also irritate me, he’s a full service husband that way, LOL!)

Kat, that’s super-packed weekend! I hope you had some fun too.

Wizard can cut through the jumble of multiple plot lines, emotional arcs, and worries in my head to see the problem and find a solution. I appreciate that he not only can do it, he’s willing to invest the time and work into it :-)

Hope you have a good week!

Jenn – I’ve had TMJ since I was a teen and like you I think this is a nasty flare up. I’m seeing the dentist tomorrow at 10. Didn’t want to go in today because I like the younger dentist more ;).

It is funny how this conversation derailed your making breakfast. You two must have really been deeply into it. I can’t wait to see what you came up with. When is September again ;)?

See husbands are good for more than sitting around getting underfoot. :) . But seriously, you’re lucky to have someone who can help you and give you ideas. I cannot wait to read Obsession. I flew threw the first two in the series. So congrats on getting some more done, but can you write faster… please  .

The dentist on the other hand, when I was little we went through like five, until we found we liked. And then, we moved, and I found another that I liked. Finding one you like is like finding a needle in a haystack.
