Weekend Roundup

I had a surprisingly good weekend.  Wizard and I played on Saturday, doing some shopping, looking at model homes (just for fun) and going to the movies. We laughed so hard at the movie–We Are The Millers–because we clearly have the emotional maturity of a twelve-year-old :-)

Sunday I worked straight through, trying to get a sex scene right.  Still not sure it’s right but I have to move on today.

So how was your weekend?

Every one needs to be childish every now and then, in my personal opinion it helps us stay sane  .

I can’t wait for the third one in the Plus One Chronicles, they have very quickly become favorites that I reread over and over again.

My weekend involved getting an apartment and celebrating my oldest brother’s birthday. We didn’t do anything major, but that’s just how our family is. Our idea of a big party is me, my parents, siblings (and spouses), nephew, and maybe one or two friends. Not really a lot of people but… Anyway if you need help with something ask Wizard for inspiration, or ask your son, I’m sure either of them will have something helpful to say (even if all it is, is a weird look and slowly inching towards the door) :)

It’s so nice to play now and then. I wasn’t sure about the Millers until I saw the clip where they interview the “daughter’s” date. I nearly died when “dad” tells her not to use protection. Knowing you enjoyed it I may have to go to the movies this week :).

I’m sure the scene will work out. The last one did ;).

I spent the weekend doing catch up from being gone. Today I have new gutters going up and roof heater coils to stop ice dams. It will possibly take through Wed.

    Have a wonderful day!

The one commercial for We Are the Millers cracks us up – when the boy gets bit by a spider and says “I can’t feel my bingo”. ROFL Glad you two had a fun Saturday, even if Sunday ended up being a writerly pain. You’ll nail the scene. (Probably already did, but you’re harder on yourself than that.)

The weekend was pretty quiet here. More rain, of course. The deer are now a regular occurrence, so nothing new there. Read some books, thought about which manuscript I’m going to tackle next, watched golf. Today they might deliver our retaining wall blocks. Then I’ll be itching to start the project, but we haven’t had enough dry days to seal the foundation yet, so it’s all gotta wait. Hmphf. =o\

Saturday I organized. Sunday I crashed. Slept all day. I needed it. Now I up and ready for another week.

Now I am curious about this movie. I will find some clips and check it out.

Jen maybe you and wizard just need to practice the scene that you are writing to help you work out the kinks.  so to speak.

I spent the weekend mostly in bed. I’m actually sitting at my desk today so I hope to get caught up on things I can only do on the desktop. I did work Saturday–editing and adding some new works to BLACK MAGIC. Sunday, I pretty much vegged and caught up on DVR’d shows.

Everybody is right, Jen. When you are in supercritical mode, that means you nailed the scene and your readers will love it! Just sayin’.. :-P

Took the girls to see the second Percy Jackson movie and then swimming … not much else happened. The movie was good but 1/2 way through, my 6yr old was complaining ‘where’s the action?’. The funny thing – she was right, there could have been a bit more, especially at the end ;)

Amanda, Happy birthday to your brother! Is the apartment for you?

You’re right, it’s good to laugh like kids. Wizard and I try to do it often :-)

Viki, having never lived in truly cold weather, things like roof heater coils fascinate me!

We Are The Millers was funny IF you like that kind of humor. There were a couple slow parts, but the funny moments totally made up for it.

This scene isn’t quite like *that* scene :-)

B.E. you guys need that rain to stop! I’ve barely had time to watch the news, but I know it’s been pretty bad.

    That scene was funny :-)

Have you decided which writing project to tackle next?

Kat, the last scene I made Wizard practice with me was a fight scene. I scared him as he had no idea what I was going to do :-) I just wanted to make sure it would work.

Glad you caught up on your sleep!

Silver, are you feeling better? I hope so! You were in a lot of pain!

I have no idea what I’m doing or if anything is working :-(

Jenn – Being the only female of any kind in my household for over 28 yrs that kind of humor is now my kind of humor ;). Tomorrow is my birthday and John is going to WV and the boys are working so after coffee with girlfriend I think I’ll catch the movie.

Oh – gutter guy never showed yesterday so I had to call him. He showed today but now won’t be done with the job until late tomorrow.

    Have a great day!
