Weekend Roundup

Wizard is making me fat, it’s all his fault.  I just feel the need to say that.  And when I tell him that, he laughs and says he loves me anyway.

Men.

If that wasn’t enough, he also told me he thinks I shouldn’t go back to the gym for LONGER than six weeks (stupid Achilles).

And then…THEN he took me out for a lunch that included french fries. I never eat French Fries.

All Wizard’s Fault!

Okay…maybe it’s my fault for ordering the French fries.  But it’s much more satisfying to blame him. (Trust me, it’s fair since he blames me for stuff all the time!)

Sigh…so this weekend was mostly work as I’m rewriting the opening pages of COWBOY MARINE. Hey, we all knew it was going to happen :-)  I’m not happy until I’ve torn a story apart and rewritten it a couple times.  I’m still not happy, but I’m getting closer.

This weekend, we didn’t see RUSH but we rented the Jackie Robinson movie, 42.  It started out a bit slow for me, then picked up and I really liked it.

Last thing, the first review for OBSESSION came in from Reading in Pajamas  It’s a five star review that said, Heart-wrenching, emotional, suspenseful and filled with danger and passion. This trilogy is incredible! Obsession is the perfect ending for The Plus One Chronicles.  I’m thrilled and relieved! I hope readers agree.  I tried but in the end, it’s up to readers to decide.

How was your weekend?

First – See you were worrying for naught. Love those comments on the review of OBSESSION.

It’s only fair that Wizard take the blame. When in doubt (and even not) it’s always their fault ;). French fries, I never eat them either but I won’t pass up an onion ring. You know he may be right about the Achilles. That is one nasty part of the body to have messed up. As much an exercise freak I am I’d let it heal completely.

We took the married son and wife to PF Changs Sat. I proceed to order the wine for hubs and myself and the waiter asked for my ID. I looked and said “really.” In all seriousness he said “yes.” I gave him that “I’m old enough to be your mom and then some look.” His attitude changed to joking and he asked hubs if he could verify my age. It was really funny. I know I look much younger than 51 but still. Needless to say I gave him a large tip :).

    Have a great day!!!

Wizard is definitely a keeper (but don’t tell him I said that or you’ll never hear the end of it). Yay for Obsession! I told ya it was more awesome than you thought. And you’ll get there on Cowboy Marine. You always do. =o)

My weekend passed in a blur. And I didn’t even do anything. I read. None of my plants arrived yet, so no gardening, but I worked on my tree project. I surfed the web. Watched some football and a little baseball. Napped. Yep, it was bigtime excitement here. LOL

I spent the weekend singing Willie Nelson—– On the Road Again. Because my husband can not drive. Yes he gets it in his head this morning that may be he can. I spent the weekend driving the kids and him to everywhere they “needed” to go. Thank fully I took a book with me and just waited on every one.

Getting out helped my husband feel better.

For me getting my hands on Obsession soon will go a long way to making me feel better.

Don’t tell Wizard I said this but he is a keeper. Kinda reminds me of when my mom was sick my dad made her drink something hat tasted worst than it smelled, but by the next day she was better so… See we told you Obsession wold be fine, but the wait is killing me, I want it so bad. My weekend started out bad because I have a cold, it was my birthday, and I was supposed to work. But we got there and they cancelled so it was better. Then my friends kidnapped me for my birthday wich not only made me feel better, but I got to see them. Rounding back though Wizad may be right, but blame him anyway not only is it fun, it’s great therapy . Can’t wait for Obsession, and relax Cowboy Marine will be great, and much anticipated.

Happy Monday, everyone! Jen, I knew OBSESSION would be awesome! Yeah, yeah. We ALL told you so.

We got some rain on Saturday, which was nice. Cooler temps for a few days. Warming up again tomorrow before the next front comes through next weekend. College football was split, my Cards took the NL Central division and home-field advantage for the play-offs with the best overall record in the National League. Yeah, I’m a baseball nut.

We had family dinner Saturday night at our favorite steak place. Yummy. I’ll be able to discuss the events on Wednesday. ;) I worked on some marketing and started getting stuff ready for the Reader/Author event, Hot Mojave Knights, that I’m going to the weekend of Oct. 18-20th. Fun stuffs! Now I’m trying to figure out what to put in a raffle basket for the animal rescue charity it will benefit.

And I’ve got to start the next writing project. After laundry.

Viki, that’s turned into a great weekend for you! I think I’d have adopted that waiter, LOL! You obviously still have it, and you need to remind your husband of that every hour :-)

I’m not a big French fry freak, although I like them oven fried. Onion rings sound good too. Mostly though Wizard and I are being lazy in our eating due to being busy and distracted.

Thank you for the support on the books. I must sound like a broken record, but I never know if a book will truly come together.

I know on the Achilles. I think I’m going to see how it goes next week. I can get my butt I the gym and start upper body conditioning. However, time’s an issue too. But I think I should use you as my motivation so I can get carded too!!

B.E., what is it with getting deliveries in your area? I hope your plants arrive!

A reading weekend is a good weekend!

Thanks on my books. I hope I get there with Cowboy Marine :-)

Kat, at least you can read while waiting :-) It’s guilt free since there’s nothing else to do.

You’re husband is so lucky to have you. I’m hoping as he adjusts to his new reality, his depression improves.

Thank you for wanting to read OBSESSION!

Amanda, Happy Birthday! Bummer that you got a cold on your birthday, but it sounds like it turned out to be a fun weekend afterall!

Wizard is used to him blaming it–it’s a husband’s job to assume all blame :-)

    Thank you on the books!

Silver, just FYI I have That Ol’ Black Magic on my Kindle and plan to read it soon. I’ve just had a list of books I’m trying to read for one reason or another.

What events? Okay, I’ll wait until Wednesday. The way time is going, I’ll blink and it’ll be Wednesday anyway.

You’re juggling a lot! Good luck!

It’s one of the things about living in the middle of nowhere, Jen. You trade off quick deliveries for solitude. ;o)
