Holiday Roundup

Christmas was wonderful and exhausting.  Having all the kids and their wives/girlfriends home is always special, then they all left except for Bailey Dog.

Bailey with his bone

Bailey is here until we take him home–probably tomorrow. He’s been good as gold.  He and Wizard are buddies–so much so that Wizard got very brave and took Bailey in the car with him to the post office. Bailey loved it! But he almost gave Wizard a heart attack when Bailey put his paw on the arm rest and accidentally rolled down the electric window.  Poor Wizard! He was afraid Bailey would jump out. But Bailey was fine and Wizard handled it. Right now the two of them are sitting together watching TV.

So how was your holiday? And if I don’t talk to you before hand–have a safe New Years Eve!

Oh poor Wizard. He needs to hit the child protection button next time. It will keep Bailey from opening windows and doors ;). Sorry Bailey has to go home so soon but I bet Middle son misses him like crazy too. So are you too tired to lobby Wizard for your own puppy?

Very happy to hear your Christmas was good. Are you getting ready for New Year’s now?

Our Christmas was fine except for the kitten really not liking the dog in HIS house. It was kind of funny. We’ll see what happens Wednesday when PeeWee returns for another visit.

    Have a great day.

    Happy New Year!!!!

I’m glad you had a nice holiday with all your kids and Bailey dog. The story of Wizard and Bailey reminded me of that scene in Dr. Doolittle (Eddie Murphy version) with the dog in the car. LOL

The holiday here was quiet. Just Hubs and I, so we didn’t bother with presents under the tree. We already gave each other everything anyway. We just relaxed and ate like pigs and watched TV. Then over the weekend, we worked in the woods, cleaning junk and clearing trails and exploring. Life is good. =o)

Viki, Spunk is the king of his castle :-) Poor Pee Wee is probably confused since he just wants to play.

I’m more holiday tired than Bailey tired, but it’s all working in Wizards favor–right now I just want to get back on my normal routine. But once I feel better, I’ll go back to bugging him for a dog :-)

I think our New Years will be quiet and I’m sooo fine with that. It’s been non-stop since T-Day.

Hope you have a great New Years!

In all these years, bailey hasn’t once hit the right spot to roll down the windows in any our our cars. But you’re absolutely right, next time, we’ll hit the child locks!

B.E., your holiday sounds so peaceful. I love my kids and the fun, but it’s a little over the top on the work side–and that’s with people pitching in. I need to stop SAYING I’m cutting back and actually DO IT.

And man–I need to diet and exercise. But we won’t talk about that.

But you had a very serene holiday. Did you get any writing done too?

Bailey in the car reminds me of Max, the Great Pyrenees. He was riding with The Only and I and managed to roll his head up in the window. It could have been disastrous but we were pulling into a parking lot when it happened so no damage to dog, window, or armrest. Only and I died laughing though, when we got his head free. Max sat there, staring at the window, growling. He was smart enough not to stick his head out again, no matter how much he wanted to go flying.

Christmas was crazy. The decision to hold it here was made last minute so I had to scramble. And then I developed an eye infection that left one eye swollen shut and draining yucky stuff. Almost a week later, it “looks almost human now,” according to Lawyer Guy.

We’re looking forward to a quiet New Year’s Eve and then gearing up for 2014. Give Bailey a hug and pet for me!

    Happy New Year, witches!

I hear grandpuppies are just as precious as grandbabies, so I think it very cool you are spending time with Bailey. :)

My Christmas was crazy just like yours. It always is. Fun but exhausting.

I don’t think we are doing anything New Years, and I’m cool with that. The Hubster was off 2 days after Christmas and we spent it vegging out, for the most part. It was sooo nice to just be. I know the Hubster loved it. He rarely does nothing.

Have a great New Year, Jen! I can’t wait to see any books you will be releasing this year.
