So how’s all your New Year going so far? Mine’s been frustrating, but that’s okay, we all love a challenge right?
You’re laughing with me, not at me, right? Sigh…things will get easier. I’m working on the problem of understanding my characters well enough to get my book started. Hunter and Alyssa have real potential!
Switching subjects, once in a while, Biker Witch (my sister) texts me random pictures. Here’s one:
Growing up, I had a boxer just like this. He was my best friend, we played together all the time, and got into a LOT of trouble together. I’m told I covered him in baby powder (I don’t remember–Biker Witch could be making that up!) among other things. That dog would put up with anything from me and never get mad.
Isn’t it amazing how a picture can invoke such powerful memories for us?
And of course, this makes me miss Bailey Dog 
My weekend will mostly be work. What are your weekend plans? And did you have a dog growing up?

How sweet! It is always a pleasure to have photos bring us back in time. This is such a cute picture too :).
We are not laughing at you :). We get it. Just remember to try and stress less (right) and take a breather now and then. Maybe a little yoga breathing will help ;).

not laughing at you at all. I was laughing at the picture. So cute. I need to get out some pictures from when my kids were young and look at them again. That would be a good thing for the weekend. Also I am going to meet up with a friend for a “@#!$” session.
Yes I had a dog patches when I was growing up. They say that people can look like their pets or pets like their people. I used to have my hair in two pony tails all the time and I loved to run. So I would run with my pony tails flapping and my dog who was a cocker spaniel/ Doberman mix would run with me and it’s long ears would be flapping. We made quite a pair.
Pets and kids make our lives so good.

Sorry to hear 2014’s been frustrating so far. You’ll get those pesky characters to cooperate. Aww, cute picture. Somebody’s been naughty, but how can you get mad at those faces?
So far, the new year is going well. I promised myself I would get off my butt and work, and I’ve written every day since the 3rd. 18K words on this rewrite of a suspense I never finished. So those are my weekend plans – more writing.
As for dogs, when I was almost 6, we got a puppy from my bus driver. Arrow was a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, and he was awesome. Through my formative years, he was my best friend, confidant, cohort… We lost him my freshman year in college. Best dog ever. That picture reminds me of the time my nephew decided to feed the dog Christmas cookies. Arrow would never take food off a plate himself, but he was totally happy with the tiny human taking one after another and handing them over. =o)

I never got to have a steady dog when I was growing up…too many moves and too much drama. I’m making up for it now with 4.

I totally get how characters can be elusive and hard to figure out. I have faith in you though! You can do this. I mean, don’t you always?
My new year is going ok. I’m sticking to my ‘focus’ and remembering no matter how small the progress, the little things add up to big things.
