Wednesday Worthy

I love writing. I love it so much, I’ve gone back to Page-Freaking-One to play Can We Save This Book.

But then I thought, is that really enough of a challenge? Let’s make this even MORE interesting and put a time limit on it. Say one month until my deadline.

Easy…Bwhahahaha!! Okay, here’s the deal, I sent the first few chapters to my friend, Marianne. she read then, thought about them, then I got this text. “Do you have time to talk about your book.”

FYI–that’s never good. Marianne *might* call, but she usually works directly in the manuscript showing me where I can strengthen etc. That text confirmed what I knew–the book set up wasn’t working.  Interestingly, it was a relief to hear it. We can’t really fix the problem until we acknowledge it (my powers of denial are awesome). So after a marathon plotting session on the phone with Marianne, I’m working frantically, trying to redo those pages, and then the story should work and I can write the rest. The night sweats and burning stomach waking me up through out the night are just added motivation :-) But that’s fine, as long as I get this book closer to something I love, I’ll live with the stress!

Marianne has saved my butt, and helped me save my books, too many times for me to count. Friends like that are priceless.

Today, I’ve promised myself I’ll hit the gym first thing (stress management tip #1) and then work straight through the day until Wizard walks in the door and lures me away from the computer with a glass of wine (stress management tip #2).

Now onto Wednesday Worthy. Here you go:

What do you think, is he worthy?

Great friend you have in Marianne :). It’s so good to know that she was able to help you transform things so that the book will work. You authors are really gutsy to begin with and I give you even more cudos for knowing when to seek another opinion.

Now you must try and get to the gym today because you need to work off that stress. A burning stomach at night is not a good thing. You need to take care of yourself too.

Sorry but even though I love the muscles there is something I don’t care for in this guy. Maybe his eyes are to dark or something. Can’t really figure out what it is that is bugging me.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

I’m sorry the book’s giving you fits, but thank goodness you have Marianne. You’ll get the revisions figured out and it will be awesome. Thank goodness also for Wizard who brings you wine and helps you de-stress. You have an awesome support crew. =o)

You ever hear the phrase 10 pounds of sausage in a 5 pound casing? This guy seems like he has too many muscles to fit inside his skin. It doesn’t look natural to me. That and he reminds me of Sylvester Stallone – who I never found attractive. Sorry, this one’s a pass for me.

Go to the gym. Get some of that stress worked out of you. And have a beautiful day. :hugs:

I agree, the guy is a pass for me, unless he’s a villain. Then he works.

I hate that game! I don’t like to play it but it’s great to have someone who will make you when you need to. Kudos to Marianne for being your Jiminy Cricket!

I’m still shuttling between home and the hospital. The current revisions are coming like molasses in the arctic vortex. On the good side, though, all the windshield time has allowed me to plot out book two!

    Happy Wednesday, witches!

Erm…have to pass on this dude. Just has some kind of ick factor that I can’t put a name to.

Aren’t crit friends just awesome!? I’m having similar issues with my story and my BFF, Linda, is going to come over so we can sort the plot. I just can’t seem to get moving on it. I know you will get this book ironed out and on time…you always do! And it’s always amazing. :) Got faith in you, girlie!

    :-D

Viki, the guy bugged me too, you’re not alone.

Marianne’s great at articulating the problem. Often I’m too close to really see it. But I should have asked for help sooner so I’m not the author to admire :-)

    I went to the gym!

B.E., LOLOL!!! That’s such a great description of this guy! The muscles don’t bother me but the S.S. reference ruined him forever :-)

Everything will work out with the book. I write with more passion than precision, so fixing things is my standard operating procedure.

I’m damn lucky with my support crew. I hope I never ever take them for granted.

Silver, I hope you’re taking care of yourself as your juggling two high pressure things. Really hope LG is recovering well.

I think we’re all in agreement so far on this guy!

There is something not quite right with this guy. I think it would probably become obvious when he opened his mouth…but he does have perfect looking lips.

Catharine, you’re probably right that it’d become obvious when he opened his mouth:-) I hadn’t noticed his lips until you mentioned them. They are nice, but not sure they are very masculine.
