Weekend Roundup

The good news is my new laptop came and we’ve got it pretty much set up. Yay!

The bad news Wizard and I came down with a cold, or some demonic virus. Ugh.

How was your weekend?

Happy Friday!

Is anyone else sick of hearing about Selfies and Twerking? How about Kim Kardashian?  What we really need is Kim taking a Selfie while  Twerking–that would really send me to the liquor cabinet.

Okay I’m done complaining. How about you guys? What are you sick of?

Now moving on–it’s Friday! I’m working hard on the book and determined to be positive. Each day I fall more in love with Alyssa and Hunt. Alyssa is turning out to be a much stronger woman than I originally envisioned her. She may not know it in the beginning, but she definitely will be by the end. Now it’s just getting the right scenes to show their story.  I’m also starting to get excited about THE COWBOY MARINE coming out in July. All of a sudden, it doesn’t seem that far away!

I don’t have anything exciting planed this weekend, what about you all? Whatever you do, have a great weekend!

*Someone* needs to go on a diet. I’m not saying who is the FAT WITCH

Jen is the FAT WITCH!!

Jen is the FAT WITCH!!

But I will say this; IT’S ALL WIZARD’S FAULT!

Remember on Monday I mentioned that BLB (youngest son) stole my chocolate chips? Well Monday Wizard was off work and after I mentioned my missing chocolate (twelve or fourteen times) he went down to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and bought me these:

Truffles for a FAT WITCH named Jen

Truffles for a FAT WITCH named Jen

Sigh…I’ve been eating them. I’ve been working out when I can around some physical issues but it’s been an uphill battle lately.  But life’s too short to whine about it (but not for wine!!), so I’ll just keep trying…

Now for work. I was REALLY close to a melt down when I emailed my editor and told her the book would be later than March 30th. She emailed back that’s not a problem at all, she doesn’t need it until July. YAHOO! I really only needed a few weeks so I’ll have it in well before that, but it’s a big relief. I’m trying to dial back the stress I’ve been putting on myself lately, and enjoy the process more.  So that’s what I’m doing and happy about it.

In other fun news, my new laptop is on it’s way! Now I’ll have two updated computers a desk top and laptop–something I waited nearly two years for.  As much as I use the computer, it’s necessary.  Wizard gets to use them too so he’s really happy.

And just because it’s Wednesday, here’s a random guy:

Weekend Roundup

BLB (youngest son) is developing a bad habit of coming by on Sunday and EATING! This Sunday he had French Toast for breakfast, Subway sandwiches for lunch and then HE TOOK MY BAG OF CHOCOLATE CHIPS! Although he did leave before dinner so I guess I got off easy there.

But he took my chocolate!

It’s my fault, I showed him the bag of chocolate chips as we were toying with the idea of making cookies. As he was leaving, he picked the bag up and said, “Mom can I have these?”

I’m a total sucker because I know how much he loves chocolate but he doesn’t buy it for himself. So I had to say yes. As BLB drove away I don’t know what I was sadder about, him leaving or my chocolate :-(

Other than that, Wizard and I looked at another one-story house but so far, we’re still just looking.

How was your weekend?

Happy Friday!

This week flew by! It’s wild how fast time is going. Yesterday I finally hit a milestone in Exposing The Heiress. I kept writing to a certain page number, then I’d realize, Oh Crap, this isn’t working.

That happened 3 or 4 times sending me back to page 1. I’ve seen other writers make a note that they needed to change the first few chapters and keep going–getting the draft finished. I think that’s really smart, but I can’t do it. For me, it’s like putting frosting on a burnt cake.  I just can’t go forward until I have the first part of it right.

I’m still waiting for THE PROPOSITION to clear through Audible (audio book) quality check. I’m really impressed that they check each book though so I don’t mind.

And now for the fun party. BAILEY! He came Tuesday night and left Thursday. We had a blast. And of course, since I went grocery shopping while he was here, I bought him a new toy.

Bailey New Toy 1

He doesn’t look excited in the above picture (that’s his “tolerating her taking pictures again” look), but he really was. He showed everyone his new toy. But he spent most of the day out back looking for lizards. He didn’t find any, but he never gave up until dark. Then he came in with me to hang out with me…

Bailey after playing all day

He conked out.  When we went to bed, he didn’t move all night long.  Who knew lizard hunting was so exhausting? But he got up happy and raring to go again in the morning.

This weekend, I’m writing and probably cleaning. What are you doing?

Wednesday Worthy

Yesterday I got in my car to go grocery shopping and discovered I had a flat tire. Ugh, so frustrating. But I’m a  competent, adult woman I too care of it.

By calling Wizard.

Then I stayed home and worked and he came home early from work and took care of the tire. I’m not proud of this. But in my defense this is the same man who once called me while I was on a layover in an airport because he couldn’t figure out how to bake a potato in the microwave.  I had to walk him through it step by step. Wizard and I are co-dependent. I’ve learned to live with it.

Even sadder is that I have Triple A Roadside.

But the good news it the tire’s all fixed and even better? Bailey is here! He came last night as Middle Son has a business trip and his awesome girl friend brought Bailey by on her way to her business trip. Those two are busy!

So here’s our Wednesday Worthy Hunk for today:

Weekend Roudnup!

I missed Friday’s post, sorry! I’m going to be hit and miss for a few weeks while I kick this books butt. I may come out of this battle bloody, exhausted and fat but I will win! Bu that said, there’s just not enough hours in the day right now.

Silver sent me this picture below (I think it’s from I Can Has Cheezeburger site. I laughed by butt off and it cracked Wizard up when I showed him:

When did this new dog get here

That’s the younger, cuter and blonder version of me!  Thank you Silver for making us laugh this weekend!

And if you’ve ever wondered about The Varied Emotional Stages of Writing a Book, hop over to Terribleminds blog and take a look here.  So true!
