Happy Friday!

Men!

So on Wednesday, Wizard went to the doctor after I  nagged him into doing it. He came home and said, “No infection, just severe congestion.”

I’m like…hmmm…  But what can I say? He went to a doctor that I know is very good. So…maybe I’m wrong and he just has a bad cold.

Then, after dinner Wednesday night, he went to pick up the prescription the doctor had called in for him, but it wasn’t ready. Wizard was annoyed and left instead of waiting. I was going to go pick it up for him later that night, but he told me not to, that it was  just nose spray and could wait until the next day.  So I waited because I’m not feeling a 100% myself.

Then last night, this was our conversation at dinner after I’d picked up what turned out to be TWO prescriptions.

Me: “I don’t understand why the doctor gave you antibiotics if you just have a cold. You told me you don’t have an infection.”

Wizard: “Oh, yeah, what he said was I don’t have an ear infection, but I have a sinus infection. That means severe congestion, right?”

Picture me banging my head on the dinner table. Finally I told him, “No, a sinus infection can be serious and is always miserable. That’s why it’s called AN INFECTION. Why didn’t you tell me this YESTERDAY so I could pick up the antibiotics?”

At this point Wizard leaned back in his chair, like I was yelling or something. “Um…I didn’t know he was giving me the antibiotics until I got to the pharmacy and it wasn’t ready. I didn’t think it was any big deal.”

This is my fault for not making my very-smart-in-so-many-things-but-THIS-husband tell me EXACTLY what the doctor said.  But the good news is that Wizard’s on antibiotics and will be feeling better soon!  We’re going to celebrate his birthday one way or another this weekend.  And there will be chocolate cake, which everyone knows is good for sinus infections :-)

During all this sickness  drama and trying to get ready for Wizard’s birthday I’m working, actually writing pages which I’m thrilled about.

What are your plans this weekend?

Men! They’re the death of us. The good thing is you got the antibiotics started into him on Thursday and within 24 hrs he should feel good. That said, I hope he doesn’t think that he’s feeling better and can stop taking them. You may have to stress with him that to get rid of the infection he must take all of the meds down to the last pill.

I so hear you too on the smart in so many ways and then wham the DUH comes out. It seems we all have that problem.

Nice that all of this action at home hasn’t kept you from writing. Maybe that’s been your refuge – work ;).

Are you getting all excited about Bailey coming to visit? Better go warn the lizards to hide ;).

Eldest son has a Captain America art exhibit this Sat. we should attend. Said son will also be attending the movie at least twice to find the frames where he appears. He’s so funny with the movies he’s been in pointing out every Cleveland landmark so there is no chance we miss his VERY brief showing :).

Other than that not much happening here.

Have a fantastic time celebrating Wizard’s Birthday and enjoy your weekend with Bailey :)!

:eyeroll: Oh, Wizard. You big silly. Suffer for an extra day so you can be right? No wonder he didn’t want you to pick up his prescription. I think you ought to make him a big, gooey cake, Jen, and then eat it in front of him. That’d teach him. Of course, I have no room to talk since I practically have to be crawling across the floor, wheezing my last breath, before I let a doctor touch me.

Plans? I have to clean at some point because the electrician dude is coming Monday to fix all the little flaws around the house (miswired stuff and general disarray). Oh, and it’s genealogy season again. I paid for a month of Ancestry.com and I’ll be working on that. Last night I discovered one of Hubs’ indirect ancestors was… :cue spooky music: …murdered. There’s a book in that story somewhere – if I was inclined to write historical fiction.

Viki- So Cool on Eldest being in Movie. Is Cleveland destroyed?

BE I love family ancestry stories too. I have not been able to trace back to much further than the 1900’s and not to much on my roots in Europe. Lots of stuff was lost in Hungry and Germany or because of the stigma associated with a great deal of those countries’ history no one wants to say anything.

Jen just accept that being ill turns men into children. If you deal with them in the same way you do a kid who sees a doctor you will save yourself aggravation. Or in my case with my husband I accept that he will be in the emergency room before he tell me anything about his health.

Let’s don’t talk about men and doctors. Lawyer Guy ended up in the ICU with a blood pressure of 70 over 40 because he thought the massive infection in his thigh was “just a boil.”

Glad Wiz will finally feel better and a very happy birthday to him! Let there be cake and Baileys! Erm…I mean Bailey. *nods* Sure that’s what I meant. ;) At least the words are coming! That’s awesome. I just discovered what is chapter 3 should be chapter 4 and now have to rewrite chapter 2 for the proposal I have to send off by the 21st. :( Needless to say, I’ll be working. But that sure beats the alternative! :D

Viki, that’s awesome about Eldest! B.E., you and LG should get together. He’s the genealogist in the family. Kat, there’s a .gif on the internet that shows like 2000 years of European country borders. It’s fascinating. Google it. You’ll see why finding records for some time periods is just crazy! :D

    Have a great weekend, witches!

Kat and Silver eldest was in three scenes in The Avengers that was filmed here too. And as far as Cleveland being destroyed, I don’t know. He wasn’t allowed to tell us anything but from what we saw on the news it looks like a bridge bites the dust ;).

Viki, you’re absolutely right–he will keep taking the antibiotics :-) Wizard is pretty good at trusting me on these things. He was just so sick, he wasn’t really functioning on all cylinders so to speak. I’m seeing improvement today!

That’s AWESOME about your son’s exhibit and being in the movie! Of course he’s pointing out every scene to YOU, your his mom. My boys are the same way with me, while with everyone else they’ll shrug and say, “no big deal.” I’m excited to hear more on Monday!

Today I’ve been doing party prep but hoping to get some pages in this afternoon.

Bailey will be so much fun. He’s pretty easy to have, especially now that he’s older and more mellow.

    Have a great weekend!

B.E., Wizard does love to be right, but he usually concedes to me on health stuff. He really just thought it was a cold. But the’s improving a bit now so we’re all happy.

That’s so cool on your ancestry research! You must find out more about the murdered relative.

Cleaning ugh! But I bet it’ll be great to get the your electrical wiring updated.

Kat, interesting that your ancestral research hit a snag due to a stigma. I also suspect a lot of family documents and recordings were lost during the struggles many families faced.

Wizard is feeling a bit better so that’s all I really care about at this point. He’s not particularly stubborn about his health, just really didn’t know what he had. I think because he was expecting an ear infection and once the doctor said “no” to that, he thought he was in the clear. At least he went and got the antibiotics!

Silver that was so scary! I’m so glad they were able to stabilize him and he’s recovering now. I’m the one who can ignore things sometimes, but never to that degree!

    Bailey will cheer Wizard up!

Awesome on your book, even though you have to rewrite chapter two (just another day in MY life, LOL) you’ll be ahead of the game by having chapter four done!
