Weekend Roundup

We took Bailey home yesterday and had lunch on the beach with Middle Son had his girlfriend. Wizard and I forgot how much we love the beach, so we came home, got online and looked at house on the beach, and the prices.

Yeah…we laughed too. A lot. We’re still laughing because unless we win the lottery, that’s hot happening. But it’s fun and cheap to dream :-)

We had Bailey for just over a week this time, and we’re really going to miss him.  But I will get more writing done this week. Bailey was a huge distraction, plus I had two work-related surprises come in, one frustrating and one good if it comes through, but both required a serious time investment.  Additionally, Wizard is still fighting this sinus infection–it’s been aggravating for him.

Right now, however, Hunt and Alyssa (from EXPOSING THE HEIRESS, book 3 in the Once A Marine Series)  need me. Although I do have to take a break this week to get Middle Son’s college diploma framed. He pouted at lunch because neither I or his girlfriend have done it yet and somehow I ended up taking it home to get it done for him. So…he can earn a B.A. but can’t figure out how to frame his diploma…

Or he’s mastered those sad eyes just like his dog Bailey :-) How was your weekend?

I thought I heard laughter coming from the west :). The prices of homes on the beach are SO high. But like you said it’s fun to dream.

You must have had so much fun with Bailey but it’s easy to see how he could be a tiny bit distracting – he’s so darn cute. Playing with him would not be a chore. But you must get back to Hunt and Alyssa.

You’ve caught my interest. When will you spill on last weeks surprises?

Poor Wizard. That nasty infection has really deep roots since he still hasn’t fought it off. Is he feeling any better or is there another trip to the doctor coming?

Oh Middle son shouldn’t feel all that bad. It hasn’t been a year yet ;). Our eldest just framed our middles BA and Masters diplomas for Christmas. Took years but boy do they look nice.

    Have a wonderful day!

The condo building we stayed in while we were in FL had a unit two floors down for sale and it was a half-mil. Yeesh. (And I guess that’s a steal for that area.) And yeah, I know Cali is way more expensive than that, so no wonder you were laughing.

I’m so glad you had a nice week with Bailey. I bet you miss him. But does this mean you’ll be looking for a furbaby of your own again?

The weekend here was lovely, despite the fact that the pest control dude was a no-show and so we still have ticks. We got the electric work finished and even though he was here about a day longer than he anticipated, the bill didn’t reflect that. Yay! I also planted some more tulips that I got from an Easter sale. Purple ones, if the tinge of color on the unopened buds is any indication.

I’ve got spring fever- which is better than spring allergies.
I really wanted to skip work today but I think I will put in the extra hours and take Friday off instead.

BE- You know how they say there is a country song for everything…. well…… You should listen to the one called “I want to check you for ticks” I laugh when I hear it.

Viki it is always the little project that take the longest, but then are the nicest. It took my dad 5 years to get my wedding pictures framed. It is a guy thing.

Jen write away. But step out into the sunshine as often as you can this week. Or better yet get one of those solar batteries for the lap top and write by the pool.

Yeah…real estate. LOLOLOLOLOLOL Poor Wiz. I hope this next round of meds kicks that infection’s butt! I bet Bailey misses you, too, though Hunt and Alyssa will keep you company. I know what part of your news is (from a loop, ;) ) but not the frustrating one. :( Hang in there.

I sent off the proposal for Book 2 Friday and got some news about a possible release period for COWGIRLS DON’T CRY (Book 1). It’s definitely on a fast track! Now I’m working on my 2nd close deadline, the novella for the Christmas anthology that’s due June 1. It’s sort of fun to revisit my Faerie folk again. :)

    Off to work!

Viki, so glad to know i have a year–I’ll tell Middle Son that :-)

Bailey is a serious distraction because I’m weak. He runs up to me, puts his paws on my legs and gives me his “oh please, come play with me,” eyes. I cave instantly.

Wizard is improving, the infection got so deep into his sinus/ear passages that it prevented him from flying (for work). But I think he’s getting there. I asked him to call the doctor today–but he feels like he’s improving and can wait it out.

Hope you had a good weekend!

B.E., that pest guy not showing up would aggravate me to no end. I’m sorry! Hope you can get him rescheduled and he shows. But good news on your electrician, he sounds like a good guy! And yay on your tulips, they’ll be so pretty when they bloom.

Probably not on a fur baby, at least now right now. Having Bailey part time seems to be enough for us.

Kat, Spring Fever is way better than the allergies!

It’s been nice here so I’ve been outside when I can. But to write, I have to be at my desk or upstairs ni my writing chair.

    Have a great week!

Silver, that’s fabulous new that COWGIRLS DON’T CRY is on the fast track! I can’t wait to hear the release date!

Ah, you’re on that loop too, huh? :-) We’ll see what happens, my Lit Attorney is on it now. And the frustrating one is now in my agent’s hands.

Wizard is getting better, but he was really worn down and this thing got it’s tentacles (spell check wanted to say testicles, LOLOL!) in him. He should be okay by the weekend.

    Happy Writing!

*splort* Yeah. You might could say that the infection has him by the short hairs but…

And yeah, I’m on those loops but I never post. I just read and learn. ;) Glad Ms. Agent Lady is on the other situation! She’s good at that. :D

Silver, I thought it was funny too! Poor Wizard though, I’d never say that about him intentionally. Especially when he’s had such a rough time of it with this sinus crap.

I mostly lurk on that list too.

The issue Karen’s (my agent) working on isn’t something I’m losing sleep over.
