Weekend Roundup

Wizard was watching TV, and I took a break from writing  to read for a few minutes.  So Wizard says:

“Look at the dish.”

I ignored him. He’s BEING A GUY. Saw some pretty or hot girl on TV and his brain goes into neutral. He’s just trying to get a rise out of me.

He’s quiet for a whole minute, then says, “Witch.”

“What?” I may have snarled it because CAN’T HE SEE I’M READING?? Why is it that when I read Wizard suddenly needs to talk?

He sings out, “I like dishes.”

He seriously said that. To me–the woman working LONG days, barely sleeping, and I just took a  fifteen minute break because my hand is cramped and my elbow won’t bend anymore. All I want to do is READ FOR 15 FREAKING MINUTES. And he’s calling women dishes to make me insane. Too late, I’m hit insane a long time ago. So refusing to look up, I snap, “If you like dishes so much go unload the dishwasher.”

He comes right back with. “No can do, witch. I like to look but I don’t touch any dish but you.”

Okay, yeah, I laughed.

Our weekend was good. We went out to dinner Saturday night and it was soooo good. The last couple times we’ve gone out, it’s been pretty disappointing, so this was really nice.  And I am writing, much happier with the book, but running late and that twists my stomach into knots. But all I can do is keep typing!

How was your weekend?

“I like dishes.” Love it :)! You two are really too much. It is a standard for all husbands to decide they’re finally going to talk as soon as we pick up our book. Never fails.

Oh I feel for you with the anxiety of trying to get caught up. It’s great that it’s all coming together though. Wish I could cast a spell to help your fingers move faster ;).

I’m glad you had a nice evening out. You need it. Makes you wonder how some places stay in business and then there are others that just blow your mind with perfection.

    Have a really great day!

Oh that Wizard. Too funny. And yes, he should let you read when you need to read. I think Hubs has reached the point when he knows if he talks to me while I’m reading, I won’t answer him. (Mainly because when I’m reading, I don’t really notice the outside world much.) So glad you two had a nice weekend together.

Our weekend was quiet for the most part. We did start digging up the remaining unsealed part of the foundation yesterday – so we can seal it. And I’m paying for it today. And I finally got back to work. I think if I can get this book edited, it could be amazing. (Which is why the darn thing scares me so much.)

Viki, I do wonder how some of these places stay in business.

I wish you could cast a spell too :-) But I’ll do it the old fashioned way–butt in chair and typing.

Glad to know I’m not the only one with a hubby who feels compelled to talk while I’m reading.

B.e., hope you’re not too sore!

I love hearing that you feel your book can be amazing. That’s a great sign, so get to editing :-)
