Happy Friday!

The book is in! I sent it in yesterday afternoon. Whew, such a relief! This book took me twice as long to write as it should have. But it’s done until I get revisions. Now I’m going to catch up on a bunch of stuff, I need to do some paperwork for my German publisher, I have a phone convo with a Google rep next week after I put them off for a while, I have three months of expenses I need to get straightened out, I need to listen and edit the audio version of OBSESSION…it’s a really LONG list.  And I’ll start planning my next books.

This weekend I’m seeing Biker Witch (my sister), yay! I’m really looking forward to that.

So Wizard got home a little early yesterday, coincidentally about five minutes after I sent the book in. I told Wizard I was done until revisions. That’s ALL I said, yet he stared at me and said, “You always think the book is bad when you send it in. But it turns out to be fine.”

I’m biting my tongue, desperately trying NOT to say that. I mean I have DOUBTS and WORRIES boiling in me but I’m not going to say it. No one believes me anymore. So I’m biting my tongue, determined to act positive and confident.

And Wizard burst out laughing at me. “It’s killing you not to say it.”

I finally crack like an overripe watermelon. “It’s not fine this time, you’ll see. First, I’m not sure the publisher will like that the heroine…” And I’m off, spilling out about a fifth of my concerns. Until Wizard returns and hands me a glass of wine. “Suck it up, Witch. The book will be good.”

“But it–”

“Drink the wine. Breathe. Rinse and repeat.”

Fine. I drank the wine. And maybe it helped a little bit :-)  Maybe Wizard’s ridiculous faith in me helps too, but I’ll worry anyway. (Seriously, there’s a good chance I’ll have massive revisions. I took a few risks…plus…never mind. Drink wine, breathe, rinse and repeat.)

Now let’s talk about one of my favorite subjects, Bailey Dog! This is the latest picture Middle Son sent me of Bailey this week.

Bailey the beach dog

This is Bailey’s life now–daily walks on the beach. That dog is so spoiled! Wizard and I think it’s time he’s comes to visit us and chase lizards.

So do you have plans for the weekend?

Congratulations on submitting the book. Wizard is SO right. You always think the book isn’t going to work but it always turns out you’re wrong ;) and we love it. So drink the wine and relax.

Have a great time with Biker Witch. You two haven’t had an outing in a while because of the book so enjoy.

Good luck tackling that list of to do’s. They sure pile up fast don’t they?

I love the photo of Bailey. He is so focused. Wonder what has captured his attention. You can tell he likes the beach. And he’s not spoiled just well loved :).

Have a great weekend – have fun!

Thank you for the birthday wishes. We went to Bonefish Grill for dinner and it was good.

I just decided the worrying and the angsting after you turn in a book is part of your process, so I’m not going to correct you anymore. I’m just going to give you hugs and be supportive during this time of angst and worry. (But, you know, Wizard is right.) :HUGS:

Yay for seeing Biker Witch! And yay for Bailey! Yes, you do need some Bailey time. You earned it. Tell Middle Son to bring forth the grandpuppy. ;o)

My upcoming days: Re-writing one. Polishing the other. Lashing myself to the desk until one or the other is finished. There should probably be some cleaning in there and walking of the Max cat. Definitely loads of coffee.

Angsting is part of your process. Now drink another glass of wine, breathe, rinse, lather, repreat. ;) I, personally, love it when you take chances. Can you say…Plus One Chronicles? Hrmmmm????

Baseball Boy got a teaching job and they don’t have daycare yet so I’m babysitting the Sprout until they can get him in somewhere. We’re totally relieved both the kids have good jobs now! Tomorrow is OKRWA and Sunday is writing all day because…Sprout returns on Monday.

In the meantime, I’m writing madly during short naps. This next Moonstruck book will be….interesting. Have a great weekend, everyone. And Jen? We all have faith in you. :D

Aren’t the other grand dogs getting jealous of Bailey being on your post so often and they are not.

Glad to see everything is “normal” in your book world.

I am working on a special project with my daughter and son right now. We are sending “Thank You Angel” cards to all the people who have supported our family through the years and especially during this time of the Hubs doing home dialysis.

He does a treatment every 4 hous- 8 hours at night- so he is limited on things he can do with in the day. But he has had better color, appetite, and is able to do more things each day.

One day at a time. So enjoy your visit with your sister and for just a little while try not to start worrying about your next book or project.

Viki, thanks. I know everyone gets sick of my fretting. I *try* not too :-)

I hope you had a great birthday and your family showed how much they appreciate you.

Bailey is well-loved but he gives it all back to us :-) He was here on my birthday and so happy to see everyone. When it was time to go home he was torn between sitting with me or going with Middle Son. It was so cute.

B.E, you’re absolutely right. I tend to worry for a day or two then let it go until revisions. It’s part of disconnecting after being so deeply involved in the characters lives.

Good luck lashing yourself to the desk to rewrite and polish! I’m right there with you on the cleaning too. Have a great weekend!

Silver, taking chances is great–unless it pushes the boundaries of the particular line for a publisher :-) Which I may have done, we’ll see.

My next project is MINE and I can write what I want like the Chronicles. I’ll worry and stress just as much, but it’ll be for different reasons.

Wow, babysitting and writing–that’s a tough combo! But the little boy is a cutie :-)

Congrats on both kids having good jobs. I know how good that feels!

Kat, hi! So glad to see you! I have pics of the other two grandpuppies too. I need to send them to my computer and get on that so they aren’t jealous :-) They are cuties too.

Wow you really have your hands full. You must be exhausted. I love the special project you’re doing with your daughter though. I know very little about dialysis–I had no idea the treatments are so close together. Although it does make sense.

    Have a great weekend!
