Weekend Roundup!

I had a great weekend! This is the first weekend I wasn’t up at 5am working and stressing. I was having a little trouble relaxing but spending some quality time with Wizard and a margarita in the Jacuzzi on Saturday did the trick. Okay so the way this happened, I’m laying in the raft on the pool and I mused out loud, “You know I feel like having margarita.” Wizard thought I was a freaking genius. So I trotted in the house and put everything in the blender.

Wizard was supervising. “Put in more tequila.”

I frowned at him, all stern like. “Last time you wanted less.” That was on my birthday

Wizard said, “The (adult!) kids were here then and they had to drive home later. Now it’s just us and we’re not going anywhere.”

Ha! I know what he’s doing. “You’re trying to get me drunk and take advantage of me.”

He laughed in my face. “As if I need to get you drunk.”

Huh, I had no answer to that since he had a point. For the record, I didn’t get drunk but I did relax :-)

Then Sunday Biker Witch and I went to lunch at the mall–that was so much fun! I’m like a kid finally released from  time out–so happy to be free again for a while. We ate, and shopped and she bought me stuff (for my birthday and because I’m an awesome sister, LOL) life is good. We didn’t get into too much trouble, although I did walk into a wall. We were heading into the woman’s restroom, I turned to say something to her and slammed my shoulder into a wall. It’s impressive the way I can multitask, don’t you think? I’m perfectly fine, while she’s probably still laughing, but whatever.

And since it was gently pointed out to me that I keep posting pics of Bailey Dog when I have two other grand puppies, here are some Cookie and Corky pics. I must have a hundred of them on my phone from text messages, but can I find them what I want them? Of course not! Anyway here’s a few. Cookie is the super smart athletic one while Corky is a die hard fan of treats and naps.

Cookie has a new sweater–she’s really a gorgeous girl. You have to see her eyes in person–so pretty and intelligent. She’s adores Special K since Special K rescued her as a  homeless, starving, underweight puppy. She’s the energizer bunny when she plays too–she will run as long as she can get someone to throw a toy for her.

Corky–CPA boy texted me with this pic and said Corky’s getting fat. CPA Boy is a big meanie. Corky is perfect. He’s truly a sweetheart. If he wants his tummy rubbed, he’s sit next to you on the couch and taps you with his paw. No one can resist him.

Corky CPA Boy called him fat!

I have a new pic of Bailey too, but resisted posting it!

Okay your turn, how was your weekend?

It is so good to hear the stress has left the building. Sounds like you had a really fun well deserved weekend.

I love Wizard. He says some of the best lines. Maybe you should put one in a book and ref. him at the end ;). Margaritas in the pool sound lovely.

It’s kind of easy for me to picture you walking into the wall at the mall. My best friend does things like that all the time. She’ll be talking and not paying attention and smack or she’ll trip over her own foot and stumble. Makes her even more lovable :).

The photos are so cute. And in my house CPA boy would be called a “big meanie head” for sayiny Corky was fat. He looks just fine to me too.

You can sneak in the new Bailey pic on Wednesday – I won’t tell the other grand puppies ;).

    Have a wonderful day.

Puppies! Yay! Corky and Cookie look like awesome dogs. But I still have a sweet spot for Bailey. ;o)

OMG, I’m so glad you finished and got to take some time for yourself this weekend. You’ve been bustin’ butt, and you’ve earned it. You and Wizard are so awesome. And I’m jealous of your pool. Tell Biker Witch to quit laughing – being clumsy shows you have a busy mind and your lofty thoughts are way more important than some stupid wall. So there. =op

I had a productive weekend. I got a lot of work done on the rewrite, some work done on the polishing, and some awesome feedback from a beta reader about a mystery I’m hoping to sub by the end of the year. Something will break in the next 12 months even if I have to beat the publishing world into submission with the sheer force of my will. =o)

I took the weekend off. Saturday was chapter day and I got to meet an author I fangirl over. She’s moved to this area and is a new member. Saturday was lazy day. Lawyer Guy was gone all day. I caught up on some DVR’s shows, discovered I don’t have to watch the rest of one series because they killed off my favorite character and I’m not invested in the last season enough to spend more time on it. I finished one book, read a contest entry, and read another book.

Magic Bean Sprout is back this week. Baseball Boy got a full-time teaching job so I’m in emergency day care mode until they can get MBS placed. Yay? Well, yay for finding “real” daycare for Sprout! It’s been 27 years since I had an infant “underfoot” all day. And since he’s napping right now, I should be writing, not reading blogs.

Welcome back, Jen! We missed you and YAYAYAYAYAYAY for getting the book done and in!

Thank You for sharing the other puppies. I needed a dose of cute this morning.

Sounds like a lot of good vibes and things went on for all this weekend.

BE I totally believe in the force of will and faith. You focus both and the publishers will be wondering why they took so long to notice you.

I was able to get out this weekend and meet with a book group in the area. Just the hour and a half I was able to be there really recharged my batteries. That and the fact that the kids start back to school today have made it a pretty good Monday.

Viki, did you have a good weekend too? I hope so.

CPA boy is a big fat meanie head. Corky adores him though so he’s just mean in text messages not to the little dog :-)

Your friend sounds like fun, LOL! I rarely fall but I walk into stuff all the time. It’s just expected now.

Wizard has two things he’s wanted me to put in a book–I’ll blog about those someday.

    Have a great day!

B.E., awww, Bailey appreciates your sweet spot. He’s really a lover with people (other dogs–not so much).

It’s kind of weird how I’m so used to the stress that it’s hard to let it go–but I am! Until next time, anyway.

I agree with Kat–the power of positive thinking will help you achieve your goals. I still struggle with believing in my writing and that has held me back at times. Don’t be like me :-( Believe!! I know it will happen for you!

Silver, a baby is a lot of work! Even that cute little guy. On the other hand, both the kids having great jobs is very good news. Hope they find excellent daycare soon.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. Taking a break from writing is good, but isn’t amazing how we’re still doing writing-related things?

And thank you! I missed you guys too!

Kat, congrats on back to school day for the kids! I remember that special happiness :-)

So glad you got a break with friends and books!

Corky and Cookie are a lot of fun. Special K just sent me a pic this morning of Corky sleeping UNDER his dog bed. He’s too funny.
