Happy Friday!

Wow it’s Friday again! I really wish we were going away for the weekend or something. But I didn’t make any plans, so that’s my fault :-(  In Oct, I’m going to the NINC (Novelist Inc) Conference in Florida–that will be fun. Wizard is staying home (his choice).  I’m going with a couple of friends and REALLY looking forward to a break from the daily routine.

Oh and I finally got my writing tips blog done. I did it on “Tips to Raise the Emotional Stakes in Your Book.” I’ll link it for any of you interested when it’s posted in September.

You know what’s interesting is the more I *try* to take a break from writing the more ideas that form in my brain. Figures! On the other hand, writing is much better than cleaning. I started vacuuming blinds–ugh. We have a ton of windows with blinds so I have to do it in batches to give my hands a break.

So tell me, do you have any plans for the weekend? And if you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go?

Seems perfectly natural that once you feel like you’re getting a break more ideas roll in :). See the mind paths are now open since you’re not stressing to get a piece done.

Oh yuck, blinds. Cleaning them is a pain even when there are no RA issues. In fact cleaning windows stinks too. I had a guy out yesterday to quote some more new windows. I forgot one so I have to have him come back – duh!

You should have a great time in FL. A girls vacation is an added bonus.

It’s too bad you guys can’t get away this weekend. Maybe you can take a day and go see Bailey, oh I mean the kids, at the beach.

I’m not doing much this weekend. My favorite vacation spot is Amelia Island FL.

    Have a great weekend :)!

We’re done going away anywhere for a while. Maybe this fall we’ll take a road trip down to visit my great-great-whatever grandparents’ graves which I didn’t learn were in AR until after we moved here. Or my other great-something grandfather’s grave in KS. They’re both within driving distance, so that’s doable. But they’re not going anywhere, so it might wait ’til next year. (This year’s trips really beat the travel out of us.)

I can’t wait to read your writing tips. That’ll be fun. =o) Have an awesome time on your trip to FL. And yay for the flood of writing ideas. Your brain’s been stifling them while you focused on your books, and now it’s partying hard. LOL

No plans for this weekend. Our AC is being a turd, so if we don’t get someone to fix it today, we’ll be laying around trying to beat the heat on what’s going be the hottest weekend of the year here. Bleh.

Weekend Running kids to there things.

Vacation – Always a Cabin on the lake in Blind River Ontario Canada. Even in the winter with the lake frozen and snow that is where I would want to be. It is where my parents went for there honeymoon. They took the family there a few times when I was a kid. We all went up there for their 40th anniversary.

When I am stressed that is my happy place.

Hey, getting writing ideas after the book is done is way better than getting them in the middle. Just sayin’ *glares at Iffy* ;)

I’m still babysitting. The kids are looking for full-time daycare but finding a spot in a good facility is hard this time of year. Definitely switching my schedule around, and cutting into my daily word count but I’ll deal.

Vacation? Wow. So many possibilities! Since I’m totally into OUTLANDER at the moment, I’d have to go with a perennial favorite that remains on my bucket list–Scotland (and the Edinburgh Tattoo). All it takes is $$ right?

Weekend plans? Errands and writing. Have to catch up. Have a great one, everyone!

Viki, now I have to look up Amelia island!

Bummer on forgetting a window. I do that kind of thing way too often.

Cleaning blinds and windows sucks. Wizard will do the windows for me though but we have soooo many windows! It makes the house feel open but it’s a lot to clean.

I think Wizard is hanging out with Middle Son, (Bailey’s boy) tomorrow so I’ll probably have to wait to see him. I don’t want to go RC car racing with them–boring. But I can get out on my own if i want too so that’s good.

    Have a great weekend!

Oh B.E., I hope you can get your AC fixed today! I hated it when ours was out. It’s miserable.

I’m not really big on traveling, I’m just restless now. But we have a big change coming up soon so I’m being very conservative with money now. How was that for vague :-)

Did you find your grandparents graves with the genealogy research you? I hope you get to go soon–when you’re ready for more road trips.

I don’t know how good my blog is–it seems long to me. But I’ll let you guys know.

Good luck on your air conditioning!

Kat, it sound pretty but cold there! Do you ice skate? That would be fun, although it’s a fair bet that I’d hurt myself if I tried it.

My happy place is usually the beach.

Hope you have a good weekend running the kids around!

Silver, the kids must REALLY appreciate you taking care of Magic Bean. It’s a huge sacrifice, even if you do love the little guy more than life itself. I bet securing a quality daycare spot for an infant is tough.

I have those ideas while writing too, I’ve just learned to be brutal, or I make random notes. I don’t even want to think about that book I turned in. I’m dreading what my editor is going to say (I can year Wizard yelling at me in my head about self confidence, but it’s not that, it’s my tendency to color outside the lines).

I wish I could watch Outlander! Isn’t that on HBO? We don’t have it. Which is ridiculous for as much money as I pay for satellite TV.

Hope you get to Scotland soon! I’m part Scots :-)

Yep, Jen. I located all three using a combination of Ancestry.com and FindAGrave.com. I’m such a genealogy geek. LOL

And yes, you are vague. You better pony-up with the deets soon. =op

B.E., all that research has given you some great insight to your family.

    I will soon–it’s not writing related :-)
