Weekend Roundup

Wizard is WAY too happy right now! Okay before I get to that, I had a good weekend and I’m getting lazy :-) This weekend I’m going to start outlining my next book.

Now back to why Wizard is happy: Laura Wright nominated me for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (see Laura’s video here), and since Wizard is off work –he’s going to dump ice water on me today.  On video. And if we can get it to work, we’ll upload it on FB for everyone else to laugh at. We’re also making a donation to ALS.  It’s a win-win for Wizard; first we both strongly support ALS research AND he gets to dumped ice on me.

Did I mention his happiness? Joy? Stupid Ass Grin plastered to his face with occasional snickering? Now if he can’t get the tripod set up–there’s a chance that I’ll have to dump the water on myself, but he’s really hoping he can do it. Then he threatened to get the hose and keep spraying me, chasing me around the pool until I fell in — all on tape.

See? He’s having in WAY TOO MUCH FUN.

For anyone who might worry, he’s teasing about the hose. The ONLY reason I know that is he’s a total dictator about safety around the pool.  But dumping ice water on me? Yeah, he’s all over that!

Okay in all seriousness, I’m happy to do it, I think this has been a really fun way to raise awareness about ALS and support the effort to discover better treatments and find a cure. To all those enduring the condition, and to the friends and loved ones, while a lot of us are having fun with this challenge, I want you all to know that we truly care. While our methods of bringing awareness to ALS might be fun, our desired to sincerity help is real and heartfelt.

Okay your turn. How was your weekend?

I can picture the grin on Wizard’s face ;). If you can’t get the tripod set up can you place the camera on some books on a table?

Good – It’s great to hear you had a nice relaxing weekend. You deserve it!

My weekend was a normal one. Nothing special.

I know you’re southern CA but could you feel anything from the quake yesterday? I sure feel for all those people. Happy I just have snow and ice.

Have a great week – can’t wait to see the video ;).

I hope the water is not too cold. No reason to set off your RA with a chill.

My weekend? Can you say Arg…….. I was supposed to be taking the kids to their things. Every time I turned around the events were canceled or changed or delayed. I did not know which way I was going when. I am able to be flexible, but jumping around like a cat on a hot tin roof is exhausting. I am glad to get into the office where I know the routine.

LOL at Wizard–I swear he and my Hubster would get along great! :P Mine is just as ornery.

We had a rough weekend but all in all we made it through. About all we can do right?

I very seldom try to work/write at all on weekends. I like to spend time with the Hubster because he works all week. I hate when he leaves. I’m selfish like that–I want him with me!

Weekend? What’s that? Still babysitting so I’m cramming lots of writing into the weekend. I got over 5K words done and I’m halfway through the current WIP.

Lawyer Guy’s birthday was yesterday. He slept in, I worked. We did go to breakfast and then he went to the grocery store with me. I took him out to dinner and we shared the most amazing peach cobbler made with a corn meal crust that was almost like custard. SOOOO good! It was topped with vanilla bean ice creams and sugared pecans. It was fruit so no calories, right? ;)

    Have a great week, everyone!

Viki, no we didn’t feel it at all. I was shocked when I realized the earthquake was in CA. that’s up in wine valley. It was really bad, the damage looks awful. The big earthquakes like that aren’t often, but they are devastating when they happen. My thoughts are with them too.

I don’t want snow and ice, I’ll let you keep it :-)

We’ll figure out the video. His is giving Wizard a chance to play with his camera. I just want to focus the real reason–ALS research. It’s fun, but it’s a very good cause.

Hope you have a good week too!

Kat, thank you–we’ve thought of that. Cold is a problem for me, but the worst it will cause is some minor neck spasms. And i can go in the jacuzzi to warm up afterward. I’m happy to do this.

I know what you mean about kid’s schedules. Sometimes it’s so tightly arranged juggling act, that more than one glitch throws it into chaos. Glad you got through it! Happy Monday!

Ashlynn, we can never ever let your husband and mine get together without supervision. No telling what kind of trouble they’d get in–or more likely, get US in then laugh at us.

Hope your week is better than your weekend!

Silver, Happy Birthday to LG! Glad you guys had fun and awesome peach cobbler. I read your description very carefully and don’t see where there could be any calories :-)

Hope you can get some writing AND REST in between babysitting!

I swear I thought I’d come back to comment on this… Crap. Anyway, I saw the video of your ice bath. Go you. =o)

The weekend was a blur. I’m about two-thirds of the way through the rewrite and the same on the polish, and still I don’t feel like I did anything. My big excitement was seeing a Belted Kingfisher on the way to Walmart yesterday. (Bird nerd geeking out in the car.)

B.E, you are accomplishing a lot of if you are two thirds of the way through your rewrite! And yay you for seeing the Belted Kingfisher. I may have to look that up to see what it looks like.

Thanks on the video–that was the me raw and uncensored, LOL!
