The wedding was awesome! It was sooo incredibly hot, we’re having an awful heat wave, but that didn’t dim any of our happiness for my niece. She was gorgeous, and yes, I am totally biased 
It was a ton of fun. And I’m so thrilled for my niece. She’s a lovely young woman and deserves the best. Romance really does rock
And in other news, I managed to dance and not injure my Achilles as I did last year at CPA boy’s wedding. Wizard was half worried, and half teasing me all night. At one point I was out of the dance floor with the girls (my son’s girls, my sister-in-laws and nieces) dancing, and Wizard is sitting in a chair, doing “raise the roof” with his hands and smirking at me. That whole raise the roof thing was how I injure the Achilles last year. CPA Boys and the others all laughed, just encouraging him. Okay, I laughed too.
We got Wizard out on the dance floor a couple times too That was mostly Special K. She, as well as Middle Son and BLB’s girlfriends pretty much have Wizard wrapped around their fingers. He knows it and is proud of it. Those girls can talk him into almost anything except a French bulldog–YET. They are really working on him, though!
But enough about that. Oh wait, here’s a quick pic of me. Wizard was suppose to take a picture of my dress, but he just did a head and shoulders shot before we left house. But you can see the color. It’s a simple dress–it was too hot for anything more.
Now moving on. Last Friday, Wizard came home and said, “I’m probably going to take a vacation day on Monday.”
I was making enchiladas in the kitchen, and paused to say, “Umm, but you’re retiring in just over two weeks.”
“I know.”
Okay… “So why are you taking a vacation day? I mean, it’s only two more weeks.”
He looked at me totally serious. “Because I can.”
Well I can’t argue with that logic. And this means I may as well get used to working when Wizard’s home because he seems really committed to retiring So today, Linc and I are going to hang out in the Wing Slayer World, while Wizard….hmm….I don’t know what he’s going to do. But he swears he’ll leave his “retirement plan” alone to work.
And lastly, as I mentioned before, we’re in a brutal heat wave. On Sunday, I got this text from CPA Boy, “Corky regrets his decision to go outside:
And about ten or fifteen minutes later, I got this text. “Cookie after playing outside for a few minutes”
It’s just too hot! (That’s CPA Boys hairy leg.)
No worries, we’re not forgetting Bailey Dog–Bailey is coming to Wizard’s retirement party in two weeks!

I love the color of your dress. It’s not all that simple. It has nice lines. I’ve noticed more and more dresses cut with accent lines lately and I love it. Wizard has a thing for you you know :). I remember when he was supposed to take a photo of a pair of jeans you bought and again you got a head shot. The man knows what he likes ;).
The photo of the wedding you posted looked so nice. They picked a great setting. Even with the heat it looked like all went well. And you didn’t get hurt – big plus.
Wizard’s right, take the vacation. Mine is just having all his lumped into a check. Money men – go figure.
Those poor puppies. What were they thinking going out into the heat? They look so sad and drained. Good thing for air-conditioning.
Speaking of heat. My “baby” husband turned on the furnace. Sissy! It’s not that cool yet. Every time he leaves I turn it down :). The cat and I are good with cool.

I’m so glad they had a nice wedding. And that you had fun without injuring yourself. Viki’s right – the pics you posted were lovely. Even if we can’t see the whole dress, that’s a gorgeous color on you.
LOL, Wizard’s already retired in his head. These last two weeks are going to draaag for him. (At least, they did for me when I quit working.) Hang in there, man. =o)
Aww, poor puptarts. I always feel bad for the pets and the critters in extreme temperatures. Lucky for your grand furbabies, they have owners who are smart and kind and keep them cool.
As for my weekend, I spent Saturday morning scrubbing the deck, and Sunday paying for it. But it looks much better now. I’m also slogging through proofreading Wish in One Hand. Ugh, I can’t believe how many typos I inserted when I was tweezing it down to under 100K. It’s like I had a disconnect between my brain and my fingers. I had hoped to start submitting this week (really, I did), but it’s not going anywhere looking like this.

The wedding pics you shared were beautiful! Love the dress. The color is perfect for you and Wiz knew that. Y’all are too cute together. Maybe it’s a good thing he’s “retiring” in incremental steps. Having the DH underfoot is…discombobulating. And annoying. And really, really NICE! So long as said DH is supportive of the the whole writing-alone-in-the-cave kind of thing. The operative word being ALONE! Lawyer Guy is so cool he’s even coming home early today for Sprout Duty so I can talk to my editor on the phone this afternoon without interruption.
Ugh on the heatwave! We had cool temps, though this week heats back up. Autumn is on the way, though! Hang in there and watch those fires. Double ugh!

Ah wedding are a great thing and a great time. Yea no injury this time, but hey you have a great story from CPA’s wedding to tell the grandkids when you get to that point.
If wizard will not leave you alone to get to Linc’s story I am afraid that Linc will challenge him to a cage match and then wizard will have Linc on the ground laughing at wizard’s funny comments. And you would have to bake them both cookies to get them to settle down and still would not be getting any writing done. I hope you can keep those two separated.
I had a really great weekend. I got away from the family and took a bus tour with a friend to Baltimore’s inner harbor for the tall ships celebration. It was a fabulous day in spite of the rain, we toured some ships, ate great sea food, rode on a paddle boat onto the harbor and shopped finding some really great bargains. We plan to do it again when we can do a trip to New York.

Thank you on the dress. I like the lines and details, but I hate things like bows and I like a tailored cut. That’s what I usually look for. This dress was surprisingly easy to find–I got lucky.

Wizard took the day off because he’s happy with the guy he hired to take over. It’s all working out great. But you’re also right–he’s totally ready NOW to be retired.
The wedding was really lovely. My sister in law (bride’s mom) is the one that almost stole the show–she was gorgeous and I was so proud of her.
Typos have a way of creeping in. I’m always stunned too. So you’ll submit next week?

The heat’s brutal. Thankfully (and I should have said this in the blog) CPA Boy and Special K take excellent care of the pups. They watch them carefully in the extreme temps.

KAT!!! OMG I’m cracking up at your Wizard/Linc scenario. I read it to Wizard and he laughed too. Now I’m going to be picturing that all day long.
CPA Boy’s wedding has a dozen great stories, believe me. It was an epic wedding. I’m betting my niece will have some after-party stories too. What I love is that we all come together to celebrate–the kids are carrying that on.
