Weekend Round & Happy Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day in the U.S., a day of barbecues, fun, family and most importantly, taking a moment to remember all those who’ve given their lives to protect our freedoms.

To all the fallen, and their family and friends left behind:

As for my weekend, it was fantastic. I’m working on the revisions for CAGED MAGIC and love the story more and more. The editor has done some amazing work and now it’s up to me to take her suggestions and corrections and make this book shine. Then it goes back to the editor for another round, and after that I’ll find a proofreader and then formatting. I think we’re going to make the July 20th release!!

Also Wednesday is the cover reveal for Exposing the Heiress across many blogs and I’ll post it here too. I’m in love with the cover! I gave Entangled the concept, but let me tell you it exceeded my expectations. Simple and HOT :-)

I found shoes for my Rita dress and I’m happy about that since I pretty much loathe shopping. But going with a friend always makes it much more fun! I’ll take pictures of the dress and shoes you guys another time.

How was your weekend?

Happy Memorial Day, Jenn. And thanks for taking a moment to remember our troops.

Yay for a fantastic weekend! I totally can’t wait for Caged Magic. I’m so glad you swung around to the ‘loving it’ point. That’s a better place to be. =o) Yay also for RITA shoes and ETH!

Nothing much happened here this weekend. Reading, writing, editing, marketing. Still haven’t managed gardening, but maybe today. Oh, and I started writing a new book. I’m pretty excited.

Ooh! I hope CAGED releases July 20th! I can read it on my flight to NYC! We have still more rain forecast. We’re on high/fast draining ground but dang. Who knew Mother Nature would get so PO’d she’d make up for four years of drought in a month! Because of the drought, I had to complain but…

I’m crazy busy. I have three books due to release this summer (self-pub) and just agreed to do two more Red Dirt Royalty books for Harlequin Desire. One’s due at summer’s end, the other around Thanksgiving. So many words to write and so little time! Good thing I thrive under pressure, right?!?! It’ll definitely cramp my social media time and I should be writing now but…holiday!

And yes, today is a solemn day and my thanks to those who serve(d) and to those family whose loved one made the ultimate sacrifice.

B.E., so what’s your new book? What genre? So happy to see you excited!!!

My internet was down this morning but seems to be back up and working now.

I’m in a better place, but dang, this book is long compared to the categories I write for Entangled. I notice it more when I’m doing detailed editing/revising like I am now.

Really happy about your new project!

Silver, congrats on your new 2-book contract with Harlequin!! That’s fabulous news, and quite an achievement! I’m so thrilled! You’re career is truly taking off!

But the deadlines…yep it’ll cut into the rest of your life. But we’re living the dream, right? All dreams worth having require sacrifice. At least that’s what I tell myself when I drag my sorry backside out of bed around 5am to make yet another deadline. But you’ve got this, I know you write well under pressure.

You all (and Texas) have been hit hard with the rains. I know you need it after the long drought, but it’s dangerous too. Stay safe!

I hope you’re all having a nice Memorial Day. We got back from my step-dad’s 90th surprise party late yesterday afternoon and are just taking it easy today.

My thoughts have been on all those who have fallen and their families – how difficult today must be, especially with all the sales hype and stuff :(. The drawing you posted above is straight to the point, so sad, and yet I love it.

On to happier stuff. I’m so glad Caged Magic is coming along so well. You must be very thrilled. I can’t wait to see the cover of ETH :).

So you liked the dress you ordered online – that’s great. Can you share the color ;)? I really am excited for you :).

    Have a great afternoon!

Shhh, don’t tell anyone… but it’s the sequel to Accidental Death – Natural Causes. I’m only about 2400 words in and I don’t want to jinx it, but I’m so damn excited, I can’t help myself.

Viki, hope your stepdad had a great birthday.

Interesting you mentioned the sales hype — I purposely didn’t link my books to the armed services and memories of the fallen even though one series could have been. I just feel like today’s not the right day.

The dress is aqua and covered in sequins, I’ll probably post it on Friday.

Hope you had a relaxing day!

B.e, sounds like an interesting book, but I get you not wanting to jinx it by talking about it too much. Keep writing!
