TGIF!!

Who else is happy it’s Friday?

Friday Frenchie

I’m in a working-light mode. I am working but not at the frantic pace I was for most of the year, so it’s a nice breather for me. I’ve accepted that I’m not going to really start a new book until after I get back from N.Y. Just editing first four Wing Slayer Hunter book files, writing promo blogs, answering interview questions and trying to keep up.

Oh! And Wizard is reading CAGED MAGIC. I had the print proof copy sitting around, and he picked it up and started reading yesterday. He was at the half way point this morning when a sprinkler pipe sprung a leak so he had to put the book down. For the past 24 hours I’ve been getting random comments like:

“How is Risa going to get out of this lie?”

“What about the baby? What happens when Linc finds out the truth?”

“I hope Ram and Ginny  **  again.” (I had to bleep that word — let’s just say that Wizard was blunt. And worried about Ram and Ginny — who have small point-of-view scenes in CAGED MAGIC.)

“Shield witches? Witch hunters? Demons, spawns and angels? How do you come up with this stuff? Should I be worried?” (He plots a lot of this with me, but seeing it in the context of the story is vastly different.)

“Get out of my reading room! Can’t you see I’m busy?” (I pointed out that “This isn’t your reading room, dude, THIS IS MY UPSTAIRS OFFICE!” To which Wizard replied, “You were on the phone, it’s my reading room now. Go away.”)

And so much more. Just random, off the cuff comments. But one thing I’m happy about is that Wizard is following the book with no problems. He only read Blood Magic years ago so that likely means those who haven’t read the series won’t be too lost. Also, Wizard isn’t a reader and he seems pretty hooked.

Today I’m hoping to find a couple little things I need for my NY trip, and then I’m meeting Biker Witch (my sister) for coffee. I’m also writing more blogs, more interviews, trying to stay on top of it all. Nothing exciting on tap this weekend.

How about you guys? What are your weekend plans?

Yay for light mode! LOL, Wizard’s too funny. Just because he picked up the book in one place doesn’t mean it’s his reading room. Silly. But his comments are awesome. I totally can’t wait to read this one. Hi to Biker Witch! (After all these blog posts, I feel like I know her. Which is weird, I know.)

Well, if I hunker down, I’ll have this round of edits done and send this sucker off to the editor for proofing by tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll print the thing for Hubs. Which means I need to hole punch his copy of AD and get it in the binder so I can use the clips for this next book. Then I can relax kinda before resuming the edits for my 4th book – Bloodflow – and writing AD’s sequel. Since the rain’s finally supposed to let off here, I should probably do yard work.

I want a “light mode.” LOLOL I’m trying to crank out the first draft of RDR#3 so I can get my beta draft done and distributed while I’m in NYC. Then I can come back to edits and ship this puppy off to my editor, who I’m seeing like 8 times in NY. LOLOL

I’m always surprised when Lawyer Guy reads one of mine. We “spot brainstorm” on occasion but he buys my books and reads them on his iPhone from time to time.

I know you and Biker Witch will have an awesome visit. Like B.E. tell her hi from me! ;)

OH! And I’m still gonna reread all the books before CAGED MAGIC releases! :D

    And Happy Friday, witches!

B.E., you’ve been on an amazing roll this year! It’s awesome!

How nice of you to hole punch and bind his copy. I’d be too lazy, LOL!

My weekend will be full of blogs and interviews and editing but it’s all for a good cause. Hope you get your break!

Silver, eight times? That’s impressive! And you can tell him you’ve finished the first draft and it’s in beta-reads. That will make him happy :-) But it’s a ton of work for you between now and then.

Spot brainstorming often works well with someone not mired in the details — they can think outside the box. but that’s incredibly sweet and supportive that LG buys and reads some of yours on his iPhone. Wizard does everything on his tablet — except read books.

I’ll tell Biker Witch hi from both of you! Have a great weekend!

I hope you have a great time with Biker Witch. She’s probably planning which drink you’re going to be buying her at Starbucks in a few weeks :).

Take the weekend and enjoy yourself. Or should I say enjoy Wizard and his comments while reading Caged Magic. It sounds so cute. How in the world did he take over your office and turn it into his reading room? Guys are so funny. Love them!

We were supposed to be going to Mercedes concert series on Sunday at the dealership hubs bought his car. It’s live concerts every Sunday with catered food and drink. This would be this first in the series but it may rain and I don’t think hubs wants to drive an hour over there to get washed out. Other than that – dinner out on Sat.

    Have a great weekend!

I bind them after he reads them. I think I’m doing it for posterity – but it’s probably because I can never throw anything away. LOL

I asked if he wanted it hole-punched and put in a binder first, but he prefers to read them with those big black clips holding them together.

Viki, I had fun with Biker Witch and explained the odds of me winning :-)

I’m going to work this weekend, but its a matter of getting ahead on promo to clear the decks to go to NY so I can’t complain too much.

Bummer on the possible rain ruining your Sunday concert plans. Hope you have a spectacular dinner out Saturday to make up for it!

B.E., got it! I like reading them loose rather than bound too. And your very organized to put them in binders. I shred mine…eventually.

Hope you have a great weekend!
