Trivia Question for you all: What happens when a CPA decides to play soccer? Answer at bottom of this blog
So this weekend was excellent! Wizard and I went to Las Brisas in Laguna Beach for our anniversary dinner. We got a table with a beautiful view of the sunset over the ocean and really enjoyed our evening. I had an apple martini, which I haven’t had in years. It was a lovely night. On Saturday I went to lunch with a friend and ended up in a kitchen store. Once in there, we came up with the idea of taking a cooking class together. I’m not sure when we’ll be able to do it, but I’m really excited. I need to do something different and get out of my head a little bit. And we both enjoy cooking. So I had another great day.
Then I came home and found out what happens when a CPA plays soccer…but more on that later
So then Youngest Son and Girlfriend came by with Roxy, she is Girlfriend’s dog who they recently discovered has cancer. But Roxy is doing AWESOME. She’s getting treatment and is already in remission. She looked fantastic and charmed both Wizard and me with her sweet playfulness, and wanting to cuddle. She lays her head on my shoulder to cuddle
Then Middle Son and his girlfriend have decided to have Thanksgiving and I’m thrilled and excited about that. This is the first time they are hosting a family holiday. It’s going to be awesome. Plus of course, Bailey will be there.
And Sunday, I wrote my first almost effortless pages in this book. And by book…I mean a ton of pages on stuff that I need to know about the character and plot but will never get into the actual finished book. So once I looked down and realized I’d written a chunk of pages and done well, I stopped and walked away to relax. That way when I go back to it today, I’ll be fresh and excited to keep going!
Seriously a great weekend, except…
CPA Boy (oldest son) is okay. He and Special K play on an adult soccer team, he took a tumble and fractured the wrist of his dominant hand. It looks like it’s a small fracture according to Urgent Care. He’ll get the final verdict once he sees an orthopedic this week. Right now, the wrist and thumb are immobilized in a splint, his pain is mild and everything is fine that than he’s bored and annoyed at being limited to one hand. CPA is also a serious weight lifter and even more serious about his job, so that’s frustrating for him, but he’ll heal and be fine.
So now you know what happens when a CPA tries to be a weekend warrior on the soccer field
