Happy Friday!

Wait, wasn’t it just Monday? How can it be Friday!  Between working on my book and trying to get people to do their jobs so I can get prescriptions refilled, I’m on my very last nerve.

In better news, we are finally tackling getting new floors done. Last year, we were just about ready to do it when the kitchen sprang a leak and pushed our plans back. In my dream world, I would do all travertine tile downstairs. But budget + other issues (like my RA) have nixed that. We’re going to go with carpet in the living areas, and leave the tile we have in the kitchen, entryway and laundry room since it’s in decent shape. Upstairs we are planning to redo all the floors.  We’ve chosen a carpet we like, and still deciding on a tile for the master bedroom. And we are waiting for our contractor to come out, measure and give us a quote. I could change my mind about all tile downstairs, but I think I have to be realistic. Which is kind of sad :-(

And that’s where my week went!

As for the weekend, I’ll write some and then Sunday, youngest son is coming over to celebrate his birthday. His girlfriend made him an awesome candy cake this year, so I think he’s going to get a plain cake from me…unless I’m feeling creative :-)

So what are your weekend plans?

I know! This week flew by. They really need to stop doing that. Sorry other people have you on your last nerve. :hugs: Wow, new floors! It’ll be so worth the trial when it’s all done. I’ve given up on the idea of new flooring any time soon here. You’ll have to post pics so I can live vicariously. ;o)

I got my final edits back from the Awesome Wonderful Editor for my March release. And I sent her the next book to pink-up for a May release. So, I’ll be working on edits this weekend. I gave myself ten days. That oughta do it. Not sure what else is on the agenda. Walking. Exercise. Cleaning? Something.

I don’t even want to think about all the things we need to do to this house, including floors. I’d love to go hardwood everywhere. Ah, well.

    Wait? This is FRIDAY!?!??! *FLAIL*

I have three covers! Two I can reveal. One has to wait. All are awesome. I have a March 15 release of the next Moonstruck full-length novel. Is it finished being edited, formatted and uploaded? Uhm…no. I’m on that! No, really. I am!!

Okay, I need more coffee and to get off the net. I’m on that too. Have a great weekend, everyone!

B.e., I’m dreading getting the floors–moving stuff in this house is going to be a painful endless chore. We cleaned out a ton, but there’s so much more! But we need to do the floors now, they carpet is just plain worn out in some spots.

I’ll try to remember to take pics but it’s not going to be an exciting transformation like if I got all travertine-like tile :-(

And look at you go! I’m so impressed with how much you are doing now! I need to channel you and Silver! If it’s pretty much straight edits, not big revisions, 10 days should do it. Have a great weekend!

Silver, I hear you. We have that list of things to do too. I ruled out hardwoods (or laminate) because of the pool. I don’t worry when we track water, which is a salt water, on the tile but wood floors would have been chasing behind people wiping up drips like a madwoman.

I hope you can get your hardwoods someday! They really are very pretty. Special K just had wood done in their condo and it’s gorgeous.

Congrats on the covers and release date!! I’ll go to your sites to see if you’ve posted the two covers you can reveal to see them.

    Have a great weekend!

Wow! New flooring throughout the house will be so nice. Sounds like you’ve made some nice choices. I love the idea of tile :). The moving stuff around is a struggle though. I feel for you.

In this house, to repair the hardwood the windows ruined will take a full week and the way the house is set up we really won’t be able to live here while repair is done. Maybe we’ll just replace. They can knock that off in a day or two. Oh, I can actually think about this now. Last night the windows were finally completed after 18 months.

Happy Birthday to BLB!!!! For some reason I see his usual cake appearing at your house too ;). How could he get by without your crazy cake? You guys have a great time celebrating :)!

Viki, that’s great news on your windows! But bummer on your hardwood floors. I’d consider replacing to avoid moving out for a week too. What a pain.

I am now considering a peanut butter cup cake for BLB :-)

    Have a great weekend!
