Weekend Roundup

Working, working and working! I’m torn between finishing Ethan and Ana’s novella-with-no-name and digging into the revision on my beloved Savaged Dreams. I love too many books, LOL! Plus Ethan and Ana just tossed a sexual curveball in my lap and that thing is almost too hot for me to handle. But if this is what they need, I’ll grab some oven mitts and get to work. But all I want to say on that is this is the point in the book where I lose all control and the characters have taken over. Which is my way of trying lay all blame on Ethan and Ana…I’m totally innocent :-)

So my weekend: Friday was nice, Wizard and I had fun at the movies, although I don’t think Money Monster was that spectacular. But since I had no expectations, I enjoyed it well enough.

As for the weekend, I chose to skip my RWA Chapter meeting on Saturday in favor of seeing Biker Witch on Sunday (you know, limited time with trying to write multiple books) and then on Sunday Biker Witch didn’t feel well so we ended up not going to lunch. It figures, LOL! I should have gone to my meeting instead of trying to budget my time so efficiently.

To top it all off, early Sunday morning I was woken by loud trucks on our street–turned out to be fire trucks and paramedics. I was worried that something happened to my next door neighbor or his young granddaughter. So I’m stumbling around at four in the morning trying to figure out if I should get dressed and see if I could help (maybe babysitting or something). Finally I realize the emergency crews are at a house father down the street and it doesn’t appear to be a serious emergency after all. Sigh…I was up for the day.

So that was my weekend. How was yours?

Yeah…you’ve heard what my weekend was like. I’ve almost “recovered” (read rewritten) the revisions on the short story/novella. I hope to have it ready to go this morning. Then I have to hustle to catch up to the words I didn’t write for RDR#5. Be a writer, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. *gigglesnort* Ah well.

I just hate it when characters hijack a story. *looks shifty-eyed* and now I’m all intrigued about what Ethan and Ana need! LOLOL

Okay. I’m getting off the internet and going back to work. I had to take a break to grab a coffee. I want about 500 more words and then shower, real-REAL clothes (funeral) and more words this afternoon.

Yup. Monday. All freaking day.

Okay, now you’ve got me all curious about Ethan and Ana. =op

Glad you had a nice weekend, even if Biker Witch had to bow out. I hope she feels better soon. :hugs:

I spent the weekend finishing up the polishing and the formatting for Fertile Ground (SCIU #2), and it’s live this morning. Once that was done, I grabbed a book someone else wrote for a change and vegged for the rest of yesterday.

Silver, I feel awful for you losing two days work. I wish I’d known some way to recover it, but I know you tried everything possible. Your weekend pretty much sucked.

Characters hijacking a story is rude. Especially when they want to do rude things…well never mind. Honestly I think my characters now have secret meetings and say, “What makes Jen the most uncomfortable for our characters? Let’s do that! We’ll convince her we need it.” I can almost hear their maniacal laughter. Sigh…

And I’m so sorry you have a funeral. I hope this week gets better!

B.E., I haven’t even written the scene yet…so maybe I’ll have the last laugh. Yeah…probably not.

Biker Witch will be fine and we’ll reschedule.

HUGE CONGRATS on releasing Fertile Ground! I’ll go look for it in a bit. I’m excited to get it.

I’m sorry you missed out on your meeting. I know you really enjoy them but you didn’t look into a crystal ball and had no idea your sister would be unwell. Sure hope she’s feeling better. It’s sad you missed that get together too. when you start stressing super bad while writing she has a way of bringing you back ;).

Sorry, but I kind of like when your characters take over for a little while. This must give you great insight into them. Besides, you’re ultimately the one in control and they always submit ;). Heck, they know who butters their bread :).

Sorry the movie wasn’t good. You and Wizard got to have a date and that’s a plus.

Our big birthday dinner was great and we had a surprise at the end. My step-father and mom (they live in NY) had a HUGE carrot cake homemade by a local person delivered. This cake must have weighed 10 pounds. I have 6 pounds in my freezer right now and each kid took some home too. We all had a tiny pcs. Boy it’s good ;).

Have a great day and snap Ethan and Ana in line :).

Viki, what an awesome surprise for your stepfather and mom to have the carrot cake delivered! Obviously they couldn’t be there in person, but they were there in spirit. I love that story! It made the celebration so much more special.

All my stuff is just normal life, but thank you for the sympathy :-) We have some fun plans with the family this Saturday so I have something to look forward too.

And the characters–you’re right I do love it when I begin to understand them with these insights. It’s fun and challenging.

Enjoy all that carrot cake! (Oh and while I’m thinking about it, I froze some of my brownies like you suggested, thank you!)
