Happy Friday

Happy Friday! What’s everyone reading??? I’ve bought a lot of books but haven’t read many of them due to my death battle with my current WIP (Work In Progress). However one that I started on a whim during a bout of insomnia I ended up really enjoying–STUCK UP SUIT by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I’ve been meaning to read Vi Keeland for a while and just hadn’t gotten around to it. I wasn’t wowed by the title, but the book kept my interest.

The audio book I’m listening too at the moment is ME BEFORE YOU by JoJo Moyes. I only listen to these while working out, so it takes me a long time to get into a book, but so far, I really like this one. I find myself thinking about the book a lot when I’m not listening to it, so that’s always a good sign.

I don’t want to talk about writing today :-)

This weekend we’re celebrating Middle Son’s birthday. It should be fun! The plan is to head to a local town for lunch and wine tasting, then back to my house for dinner, cake and maybe the hot tub. I’m really looking forward to it (A Whole Day Off!!) So what are your plans? Whatever it is, I hope you have a great weekend!

Right now, I’m reading Body Double by Tess Gerritsen. I really like her books, but I’m only reading them here and there, and out of order, so it’s kind of a weird experience. I confess I picked this one off the shelf because I’m running out of room again, and I need to get through some of these non-keepers so I can cycle them out. (Doesn’t help that I just picked up a dozen potential keeper books from the thrift store.)

Have fun at Middle Son’s birthday! And enjoy your day off. Try not to think about writing then either.

Plans for this weekend will include editing work on Up Wish Creek (#3 in the genies) so I can get this to the editor sometime next month. Might go fishing, if I can coax Hubs away from his work. Definitely a walk or two. Plus, I have to do repair work in the gardens after the local behemoth opossum did a wrecker job on my sedums and hostas.

Happy Birthday to MS! Enjoy your day off. We all need to do that occasionally. I’m currently reading (when I can snatch a few minutes), B.E.’s FERTILE GROUND. Awesome suspense! I have a HUGE reading list. Now that I’ve finished this round of contest books, I get to read for fun again. There’s so much coming out that I want to jump on! Not listening to anything right now. Haven’t had time to go through my Audible library and I have like 4 credits just sitting there taunting me. LOL Part of the problem is I usually want books I’ve read and loved but when I go to buy them, because I already own the Kindle edition, the audio is ridiculously cheap.

I have many words to write, chapter meeting, and baseball tournament. That’s all tomorrow. Sunday, probably baseball and more writing.

Us authors lead such glamorous lives. Have a great weekend, peeps!

B.E.,BODY DOUBLE by Tess sound familiar, but I just looked it up and now I’m not sure if I’ve read it. I like her books too.

LOL on running our of room on your keeper shelves! Giving up most of my physical books has been hard, but moving them around was harder, LOL.

Bummer on the repair work from Mr. Opossum (or Mrs.). Hope they leave your garden alone now.

Silver, thanks and I am going to enjoy it :-)

I have Fertile Ground on my Kindle! And I know exactly what you mean about coming off contest reads, Hope you get time for lots of quality reading.

I really like audio for working out, but I’ve found I need tamer books or it makes me uncomfortable. But the good news is I can do 45 minutes on the elliptical if I’m listening to a book and it shuts off my brain for awhile.

Have a fantastic “glamorous” weekend :-)

Enjoy the time off. It’s good for you :).

Happy Birthday to Middle Son. You guys have a really fun day planned. Mid day wine tasting sounds great. What kind of cake are you making?

My weekend kind of began last night. I’ve mention once or 50 times ;) that our eldest is the designer/builder of exhibits at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Last night was the private opening of the latest – ROCK POWER POLITICS. As usual he did a fantastic job. Here’s the even cooler part Dee Snider of Twisted Sister called the Hall and asked if he could do the opening unannounced. Because of John, we knew ;).

Well Dee is a really nice guy. He gave a little talk about testifying before Congress in ’85 and commented on how the same women’s organization that was out to get them was using We’re Not Gonna Take It as a theme song last year – irony to the fullest.

He spoke of the song being used for various things but he had me laughing out loud when he said – Who does hate vaginal dryness? It was killer.

Finally he preformed We’re Not Gonna Take It accompanied only by a piano. He still has it :).

Have a great time celebrating and totally enjoy your weekend :)!

Viki what an awesome night for you guys! And so cool of Dee Snider–I so love hearing that he’s a nice guy on top of everything else. I’m a little in awe of you all right now :-) I bet it was a night you’ll always remember. You must be so proud of, and happy for, your son! And congrats to him for a job well done.

I’m making Middle Son’s fave cake–lemon pound cake.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
