Happy Friday
I’m so behind! But the book is going better and so I just keep typing away. Now let’s change the subject and play Random Friday Five where we list five things that occur to us. Here’s mine:
- I hate insomnia. HATE IT This week has been exceptionally bad and I doubt I’ve had six hours sleep in the last four nights (I wrote this Thursday night, so I may have slept last night).
- Today I have a mammogram schedule for this afternoon. Somehow I haven’t had one in three years. Bad, very bad. So I’m taking care of this TODAY. If there’s something you’ve been putting off, make the call today and get it taken care of, okay? We all need to find the time to take care of ourselves.
- We had a power outage yesterday that caught Wizard and I both surprised. We were walking around like confused zombies, and finally had to actually talk to each other. We discovered we liked it…until the power came back on
- One of my friends got a new puppy and keeps posting pictures. How am I supposed to work when there are puppy pictures for me to look at?
- It’s HOT here, already hitting triple digits. I’m so not ready!

I’m so totally random! Five, huh…okay.
1. I’m behind too. I’m sitting at just under 30K words and have 12 days to hit my final count and edits.
2. June is fired. We were up all hours Wednesday night when the kids’ hot water line split–and both of them are just getting over a nasty bout of food poisoning. Lawyer Guy and I both went down for the count before the news last night. But now my sinuses are acting up and I woke up at 4 am coughing from the drainage.
3. I have new books released/releasing and I’m too busy writing to enjoy/market. Not that I enjoy marketing…
4. I have to buy a new computer. This makes me have a big ol’ sad.
Technology is not my friend and the thought of transferring everything and learning a new machine? *flail*
5. I FINALLY figured out why my hero did all the nasty things he’s done. And he made me cry. In a good way.
Have a great weekend! I have Stormy-sitting duties and squeezing in words, plus Women’s College World Series (Softball) and College baseball regionals. OU’s in the former and OSU in the latter.

I can do random…
1) While we were fishing yesterday, I remember making the statement “That’s gonna leave a mark”, and sure enough, I have a big ol’ bruise on the side of my thigh. Except I don’t remember exactly what I did.
2) I received a juror questionnaire form in the mail today. I fill it out, turn it in, and, unless I have a valid reason for not being a juror, I’ll be in the pool from July thru Nov. This happened back in ’13 and I never got called, so who knows if I’ll be on a jury this time.
3) The deer here are still pregnant. Not sure why they’re late with the fawns this year, but come on, ladies, I wanna see those babies.
4) I have a pretty pink pig stuffed animal. I bought it to comfort that kitten – Lil Bit – we found back in 2012, but she couldn’t take it with her, so it sits in the office.
5) The local thrift shop sent me a notice that all books are buy one get one today, and that they just got a new load of books on the shelves. Like I need more old books…
And now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some books… errands to run…

Silver, your poor kid and her hubby! They are really getting slammed and so are you.
Sympathies on the new computer. I hate it too and dread the next time. My computers only last about five or six years it seems.
I bought your new book!

B.e., OMG I do the same thing on random bruises! But I hope you’re not too sore from whatever happened.
Our juror on-call is only one week, wish you had that too.
I’m looking forward to baby deer pics, and hearing all the books you bought at the buy one get one free sale

I hope the mammogram went okay. Some people really complain but my heaven for a few minutes it can be endured ;). Having had cancer, it’s worth it.
I feel bad for you and how hot it is. I can’t stand the heat and add hot flashes to the mix – YUCK! I hope you’re able to cool off in the pool when you are done working.
I can’t even think of five things right now, but I’ll try ;).
1. The yearly infestation of ants is driving me nuts. Living in the woods makes this inevitable :(.
2. Middle son has driven out west w/girl friend for a 12 day vacation. Loving updates :).
3. Looked at a house to die for but I think it’s too much.
4. Kitty is keeping me safe from a baby raccoon that likes to attack our grill. My cat really is going nuts.
5. I need wine :)!

Viki, the mammogram is done
You are absolutely right, I honestly didn’t mean to let it go just over 3 years. When I realized it, I went to doc, got the order, made the appt and it’s done. Also I had a GREAT technician this time which made it much easier.
And your words as a cancer survivor mean more than anything I can say to remind people we need to do this things.
Ugh ants! We’ve been lucky in the past few years, but I’ve had infestations before and no matter what we did, they kept coming back. Hope you can get ahead of them this year!
