My happy today is I’m all finished with Jury Duty! I was on “stand by” all week and didn’t get called in. To be clear, I would have gone if I had been called in, but I got lucky this time around 
But this is me reworking the first chapter of Savaged Dreams.
Except I don’t have those pretty green eyes and I’m not cute, LOL! I should have had this chapter nailed by now. It’s not that hard, dang it. I just don’t love anything I’m writing yet but I will get there! I really need to get this moving and back to my editor in the next couple weeks before the RWA conference in mid-July.
And on a totally different subject, I’m trying to read a book by an author I love, and it’s just not working for me. Yet I can’t make myself set it aside. Most everyone else loves it, so it’s just me being weird or stressed or something. I really love 99.9% of her books and not loving this one is actually almost painful. I want to love it so much. Does that ever happen to you guys? Am I alone here?

Now I want to know who and what…just sayin’. I started a book that everyone was raving about, was zipping along and then…I got frustrated with the heroine. Haven’t picked it back up yet, though I need to. I do want to see how it ends.
I get you on that first chapter. I’ve “restarted” my current WIP six times now. I think I finally hit on the right mix and have moved on to other chapters so fingers crossed.
Yay for no jury duty. I’m weird. I’d actually like to sit on a jury, having been on the other side for so many years (working in the court system NOT as a party
)
I’m working this weekend–writing and critiquing. I’ve got one project in need of a read, and two coming by mid-week. And I keep playing with swag. I’m thinking about doing door hangers that say “Do Not Disturb — I have a howling good read” and putting a download code on the back. I should be writing.

I hope you’re having success re-working chapter one. You writers still amaze me ;).
Can’t stand it when an author I have loved writes something I just can’t get into. Like you, I force myself to finish. I always think that it’s going to come together for me in a page or two ;).
Not much happening here this weekend. I’m thinking of randomly pulling a box out of the basement and try to dump most of the stuff. I have that need to clear stuff out.

And you’ll tell me what book you’re talking about right? FYI I finished the book early this morning (4am…sigh) and it ended okay.
We can sympathise with each other on the first chapter distress. I’m trying to just make myself rewrite it and send off to a CP. It’s will never be as good as I think it should. Are you having the same issue?
I get that on jury duty. Wizard wants to get on a jury now that he has the time, and I’m the one who got called
But like I said, this timing wasn’t bad, so I’d have done whatever they needed.

I did finish the book. New to me authors I’ll DNF, but this is one of my faves so I’m with you, I keep going, even if I skim some parts.
Your weekend sounds as exciting as mine, LOL! But clearing out extra clutter is a good thing. We did a lot of that this year. OR you could kick back and read
