Wednesday Worthy

Youngest son and his new fiance came out on Monday. Her ring is super pretty and we talked about wedding plans. They haven’t set a date yet, but it was so much fun just to chat and pitch out ideas :-) To celebrate their engagement and her birthday, I made this insane Flourless Chocolate Kahlua Cake. It’s like eating very dark fudge. Not sure I’d make it again as it’s just too rich (I know, shocking to hear that from me, a dedicated chocoholic!). But it was a fun challenge and I managed to get it to the silky smooth texture.

In other news CPA Boy and Special K are back from the trip of a lifetime to Alaska. They had a fabulous time, including kayaking a couple miles into an ice cave then hiking in it. Their pictures are stunning!

And then there’s me working myself into a frenzy over revisions–nothing new there so we won’t talk about it :-) I’m sick of myself at this point.

So…while I was wrestling with my characters, this guy volunteered to be our Wednesday Worthy Candidate, How could I say no? I mean he looks clean, and clean is very important, right?

What do you think, is he worthy?

Yay again for BLB and his lady! Yeah, I can’t wrap my brain around a flourless cake. I would think it’s pretty much fudge. Or brownies? Too cool for CPA and Special K. And I totally get the whole ‘sick of yourself’ thing.

I remember this candidate from before. Not sure how I felt about him then. Now, I’d say he’s worthy enough. Yes, clean is very important. So it dirty. Sometimes. Depends on the dirt.

So happy for all the good things happening in your family! Blowing kisses to all of you!

I’m fighting with Iffy and I’m sick of myself too so I feel all your feels on that front.

And not only is he clean, he’s wet. I really think he needs help getting dry…if he’ll just let my have that towel… ;)

B.E., I’m not a huge fan of the cake, but I wanted to try it. Brownies have flour too, so yeah, fudge :-)

So sick of myself, LOL! Glad you get it!

I’ve used this guy (hmm, that sounds bad) a few times. I just haven’t had luck finding new candidates on the usual sites I buy from.

Silver, thanks! The good stuff balances out some other crap (normal life stuff) we’re dealing with.

Let me know if you figure out how to get Iffy to focus!

Okay we need a plan to get that towel :-)

So happy for BLB and his girl. It must be so much fun talking the wedding and getting ideas flowing.

I would have tried the cake too but it sounds similar to the Harry & David flourless cake – too dense and more like fudge. I love fudge but you can only eat small pieces at a time not a slice of cake.

Wow, CPA boy and Special K really had a cool adventure. The photos inside the ice cave must be beautiful. Was that part of a guided tour or did they find it on their own while kayaking?

Alaska is one place I am dying to see. In fact hubs was supposed to take me when I hot my 10 yr mark but he kind of forgot and retired instead ;).

Now don’t get down on yourself. We all know your process for writing and this is part of it ;). All will be fine.

I have always liked this guy ;).

    Have a great day!

Viki, thanks we had a lot of fun talking weddings!

Exactly on the flourless chocolate cake.

CPA Boy and Special K were on a tour, and the whole tour kayaked in. Only rangers have motorized boats in that area. And man you so deserve to go on a trip like Alaska to celebrate your 10+ years now! I understand how retiring impacts those plans, but if there was anything worth celebrating, that’s it!

Your comment about my process made me feel better, thanks! I know it’s true, I just wanted to do this faster, and I could if I wasn’t so compulsive about things, LOL!
