Happy Friday!

This is crazy, how is it Friday???

The Epic Gopher Battle continues. Tuesday morning, Wizard went out front in the morning to check the side hill. At the exact moment Wizard saw a freshly dug hole–the gopher popped out to look right at him.

Un-freaking-believable.

Wizard was so mad, he dragged the hose over and tried to flush him out. It didn’t work, and later when Wizard checked the hole again, the gopher had buried it. Ever since then, the battle has raged on. But both of us are torn between frustration and admiration for the little dude–he’s smart and very industrious. But I counted thirteen holes on the hill, and those are just the ones we can see. There are probably more hidden by our landscaping. We wish Bailey Dog was here, trust me, Bailey would find him.

Although Special K told us that one of their dogs, Corky, is also an excellent hunter. We may be borrowing Corky for a day or two. Although…he’s such a sweet dog I’m not sure I’d want to give him back, LOL! I mean come on, look at this little face?

My good news is I just got the novella, Savaged Surrender, back from my editor and I’m happy-dancing! There’s nothing like hearing “great job” after working our butts off, right? Now I just need to do the final edits and simple fixes, and then send it off to the copy editor. I plan to release it on October 24th. I’ve also been working on edits for Savaged Dreams (book one of the Savaged Illusions trilogy).

I’m working this weekend, going to dinner with Wizard and whatever else pops up. I desperately need to clean too but there’s just not enough hours in the day lately.

What are you doing this weekend?

    Awww, what a cutie-pie!

Yeah, doesn’t seem possible that it’s Friday again already. Where did the rest of the week go?? OMG, when you said Wizard dragged out the hose, I totally got a mental image of him as Bill Murray. Did water shoot out of the other holes? ROFL.

Yay for the good news from your editor! I can’t wait for this book!

I’ll be working this weekend, too. After giving myself a good talking to yesterday, I scrapped the beginning of my 4th genie book (Wish Hits the Fan) again. I started over last night. I think this means I jumped the hurdle, but it also means a lot of work ahead. But tomorrow I have plans to kidnap Hubs and force him to fish all morning. He works so hard all week in this dark hole we call an office. Time to get some sun and air and water. LOL, and this place could probably use a good cleaning, too. Today, between scenes, I’ll get some of that done.

Such a face! So cute. :D Yay for the kudos on the novella. Can’t wait to read it. I have a book releasing. CONVENIENT COWGIRL BRIDE (Red Dirt Royalty #4) comes out in digital tomorrow and in print on Tuesday. Crazy! My brain is just…mush.

I’m taking a small break for Stormageddon time on Saturday night while Only and BB go to a wedding. Other than that, working-working-working!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

B.E, it really was like Bill Murray. Unfortunately, because it’s a slope, and because we have drains in the hill, there just wasn’t enough water pressure to reach the little guy.

Scrapping the beginning is a huge decision–I do it as many times as it takes to get it right. I really feel your pain on the work ahead, but hopefully it’ll go fast.

Sounds like hubs needs to get out–have a great day out on the lake!

Silver, Happy Almost Release Day! That’s so exciting and overwhelming, I’m sure you’re trying to do 12 things at once. I can’t wait to buy and read it.

Hope you get a lot done and have a blast with Stormageddon!

Oh Corky is so cute. I’m sure just running around would give the ground hog the idea it would be best to move on. You and Wizard are right, those rodents are very intelligent. I sure hope he moves on soon. They are a real pain.

Thanks for passing on the great news on the novella. You must have been on cloud nine after getting it back from your editor. I can’t wait to get my hands on it :).

Today has not been one of my best. Grumpy Gus is me. My washer has been a pain since I bought it 6 years ago. To wash a load takes over 1 1/2 hrs (no drying, just washing). I’ve call LG techs have come out and no fix. Well today it stopped with a load of whites. Wouldn’t drain. All it would do was hum. So now I have someone coming tomorrow morning. Hubs asked what I was going to do and I told him we’re paying whatever and getting it fixed. The machine cost 1K so it’s an expensive pain in my fanny.

I hope you have a great weekend and invite Corky over ;).

Viki, I’m so sorry about your washer! I’d be ticked off too. I hope they get it fixed tomorrow and it’s not too expensive. This stuff is extremely frustrating.

    Is your hubby feeling better?

I hope your weekend is better than today!

    Hi Jenn –

Looks like it’s the Mother Board which I said 6 yrs ago. Now we have to pay the $500 because the warranty is over. Part won’t be in until next week. Thank heaven we have way too many clothes in this family ;).

Hubs still has the trots but the doc told me to make him BLT’s. Strange but did. Still came out :(.

I hope you’re having a nice Saturday. It’s cool and rainy here and I love it :).

    Take care!
