Weekend Roundup

Wowzers, what a weekend! Which of these things actually happened to me?

  1. My credit card was used for a shopping spree by someone other than me or Wizard.
  2. One of my kids called to tell me he was rear ended on the freeway and was waiting for auto club roadside service to show up.
  3. One of my girls (Youngest Son’s fiance) texted a picture of a two-week-old French bulldog with a cleft palate that they are trying to save and I volunteered to help if they need it.

So which do you think happened?

In other news, I managed to go to my meeting Saturday. It was great to seeĀ friends, and I had the chance to answer a few question from newer authors on things like contracts. I love helping when I can because so many people have–and continue to–help me in my career. I’m passionate about educating writers, the more we know, the less likely we’ll make mistakes that will resonate throughout our careers. I also got to see about half of Lisa Kessler’s talk. She was charming, sincere and more than willing to answer any questions.

Saturday night, both Wizard and I were exhausted so we went out to dinner and I made a poor choice (tamale.) Sunday I paid for that with stomach problems, but I worked as much as I could on theĀ final synopsis in the Savaged Trilogy, I’m close but not quite there yet. It has to be right or I’m not sending it to my editor :-)

Okay so did you all figure out which of the things above happened? If you answered ALL OF THEM, you’re right! Crazy weekend! As frustrating as all this was, we likely have the credit card thing under control, my son is okay (although I’ll double-check today to make sure–sometimes adrenaline masks pain for a awhile and it was a pretty hard hit from what I understand), and I’m truly hoping that little French bulldog makes it. I will be happy to pitch in if they need it with the little guy. It’ll make me feel great to do something positive and useful, even if I get my heart a little broken because he won’t my dog. The important thing is just doing something good out there.

How was your weekend?

I was going to say I hoped it was #3 and had my fingers crossed it wasn’t all three… but then I got to the end. :hugs: Sorry #1 and #2 happened. I’m also sorry the tamale got you. Yay for an awesome Saturday meeting, though. Here’s to a better week this week.

Highlight of the weekend was that Hubs and I went out on the boat Saturday morning. It was a lovely day, if a little chilly. We caught a few fish and got to explore from the water side instead of the shore side for a change. Saw eagles, which was awesome. And no one else was out there, so it was like our own private lake. =o)

Ah, man! That totally sucks. :( I’m so sorry. At least cc companies cover now where they didn’t used to. Hope whichever son is okay. Usually, the stiff/sore stuffs start 24-48 hours later. :-? I hope the puppy gets all better and finds a wonderful home. Poor little bugger.

Yeah. Weekend. There was one. Nothing bad. Nothing awesome. We did go out for dinner with friends Saturday night at a new-to-us restaurant. Delicious food, wonderful company, and it got us out of the rut we tend to get in. Saturday was fairly productive writing-wise. Sunday sucked. Today, I’m getting SEASON OF THE WITCH ready to go wide. It comes off KU today. And I need at least 2500 words on the WIP to stay on track. Fun times.

Hang in there and I hope everything works out!

B.E., thanks! Things could have been worse, so I’ll take these problems. I just had to whine a little :-)

It’s like you guys had a mini vacation you the lake! It sounds very relaxing. Yay on the eagles, hope you got some good pics, if you took your camera out on the lake.

Silver, the cc company did exactly what they are supposed to (so far), and the system worked. I was alerted very quickly to handle it. I’m grateful.

It’s Youngest and so far, he’s okay. Just sore as expected. His Jeep is built like a tank thankfully.

I can’t stop thinking about that puppy, but I know it’s a rough road.

YAY for going wide on SOTW! And getting out with friends to enjoy dinner. I hope you can’t type fast enough to keep up with the words today :-)

Oh my! What a weekend you had!

Thank heaven you caught the credit card quickly. Fixing that can be a real pain but since you were altered right away I’m hoping there isn’t too much work to be done.

The Jeep, so that was BLB? That poor guy. Jeeps are strong so I have my fingers crossed he has no residual pain from the accident. But heck, his metal baby has to be fixed :(.

That poor puppy :(. It’s a sure thing that you would be there to help out. I’m praying the little guy does well.

You’re so nice giving up half of Lisa’s talk to help others. Your meetings are a really good thing :). What did Lisa talk about?

I broke my elliptical machine :(. Being an exercise addict this is bad. I just order big money in parts to try and repair the thing. Hopefully they arrive quickly ;). And no, my arm is not any better. I have to give up vacuuming with the Dyson.

I hope you have a great afternoon :)!

Viki, yes it was BLB, and he’s okay which we are all grateful for.

The puppy is hanging in there, and being fed through a tube until he’s old enough for surgery. The pup has a hero in the girl who is taking this on.

Lisa talked about hooks when I was in there. She really was sweet! It’s not just me who tries to help other writers at my meeting, there’s a lot of us who happily do it.

Man I am so sorry about your elliptical. I really understand how important that is to your mental health.

OH your poor arm. I’m worrying about. Let me know if anything changes.
