Weekend Roundup

I’m less Grinchy! This weekend, Wizard and I busted our butts and got 95% of the Christmas shopping done. Whew! I have to say this is where Wizard and I shine in teamwork. All of our marriage has been like this–we divide and conquer and get it done. Which is pretty funny because both of us are also control freaks :-) But I trust or accept his decisions and visa versa. And since I’ve been sick and Wizard’s dealing with his cranky back, we managed pretty well.

I’ll think about all the wrapping later.

Wait, I was supposed to be writing? Bwahaha!! Okay I’m trying, but it’s hard, especially since with cold crud his hanging out in my head and throat. I have a about a half of day of feeling okay and all that has been spent taking care of Christmas and life stuff. I’m not even reading right now from the pressure in my head. I’m not super sick though, it’s just enough to slow me down and make me a tag snappish (according to Wizard) at times.

I also attempted my first gingerbread house. This one was pre-assembled, so all I had to do was decorate it. I did this one to test the royal icing recipe, which turned out great. But my hand…well let’s just say my hand is not a fan of piping stiff royal icing. But I think we can all agree that’s not a terrible loss as gingerbread houses are NOT my secret talent.

Still it was fun, and I’m going to try to do the other one later this week if I can find the time and energy with a million other things I have to do.

So that’s been my weekend, how was yours?

Cute house! Sorry for the sicks. Ugh. I was down with flu/upper respiratory crud the past two Christmases. Knock wood I’m fine so far. And yay for teamwork!

I just got the first set of Christmas lists late last night. No shopping done here yet. The tree is up but we all know that I never took it down after last year. I need to find the stuff for the mantel and get it done this week. Plus writing. Pesky deadlines!

At least NIKOS is playing nicely. *knocks wood*

Ooo, that’s a lovely little house! And yay for less-Grinchy!

The weekend was fine. Friday was interesting. But nothing I couldn’t handle. Just chillin’ today.

Silver, I’m late answering. Today already got away from me! It’s just that time of year I guess. Too much to do and not enough time.

I’m so sorry you got that crud, and fingers crossed it’s really gone.

You need elves to help you get it all done. Is NIKOS your current book? I should know the answer, but my stuffy head isn’t on top of things. Happy Monday!

B.E., I hope whatever happened Friday wasn’t bad. I know you handled it, but I just care :-)

    Glad you’re chillin’ today!

You need to shake that cold! They really can take a lot out of you. I get “snappish” too when I have a cold ;).

Good job on the shopping :).

I think your house is cute. I’ve never made one. You know how hard ginger bread is to roll out, that’s why I’ve never bothered ;).

Middle son birthday dinner was fun. They screwed up our reservation and so it started out awful but our server more than made up for it.

Now I have to get my butt working on cards ;).

    Have a great afternoon :)!

Oh, it started out with a water thing. The capacitor had gone out on the well pump, so no showers in the morning. (But enough water for coffee! Yay. Plus, Hubs got a guy out here right away so that was fixed by 11am.) Then I went to run errands and hit a squirrel. Then the town I had an appt in was without power. I got the appt stuff done, but the grocery store was closed, which meant a trip in the other direction for that. Just stuffs. Tiring, but not critical.

Thanks for caring. I had typed all that out earlier, but it sounded like I was whining, so I deleted it. LOL

Viki, thanks on the cold. It’s been a week so hopefully I’m not contagious any longer as I went to the gym this morning to do some cardio to help my “snappishness.” :-)

I’m sorry about middle son’s birthday reservation snafu but that’s great that the server made up for it. Hope he had a great birthday!

Hope you can get the cards done and off your mind. Have a great night!

B.E., wow on your Friday! I’d say that’s a heck of a challenging day at every turn. I’m really sorry about hitting the squirrel–that’s an awful feeling even when we can’t avoid it.

Hopefully you have a good week to make up for your difficult Friday.
