Happy Friday Five

Okay let’s do this!

  1. I got my line edits back from my editor on Savaged Vows (book 2 in Savaged Illusions Trilogy). The good news is there are no more big changes, just a few small tweaks and a lot of typical line edits to clean and strength the writing. I need to get them back to her by next Wednesday, so I’m diving in and working.
  2. I think I’m going to make the Twix Cookies this weekend if Wizard has time to help me. Here’s the link
  3. Yesterday was day two of physical therapy in which I learned massage means torture :-) I’m kidding!  I really like this PT facility. They are nice, knowledgeable, responsive to any question or concern I have, and I trust them. Samantha was the woman working me yesterday and she really tried to work the swollen knots in my shoulder, back and arm to break them up and relieve the pressure. I’m still on no added weight or resistance exercises due to the inflammation.
  4. And here’s Wizard! Okay, yeah, his head is cut off :-) But that was on purpose. See that car body he’s holding? One of his friends custom-painted that for him with his favorite baseball team as a birthday gift. How cool is that? If you’re wondering, that body goes to an Radio Control Car. Wizard races them along with our middle son. It’s a fun hobby.
  5. Just a little over 6 weeks until Savaged Dreams releases!! It’s available for pre-order now!Savaged Dreams                                                                                                           Kindle / B&N / iBooks / Kobo / Google Play

That’s my Friday Five, now it’s your turn to share yours. Have a great weekend!

Yay for your line edits! I’m so glad your PT is going well. It really helps if you like and respect the people doing the therapy. Let us know how the cookies work out, k? Yay for Wizard! And yay for being so close to release day!

    My five?
    1) Yesterday a female rose-breasted grosbeak ditched into our front window. I spent about 15 minutes keeping her warm and petting her until she recovered. I hate that the birds keep knocking themselves silly on our window, but I love being able to hold them for a little while.
    2) We’re still pretty floody around here, so I’ve been staying home and reading. Which isn’t doing my ever-widening ass any good.
    3) Staying home reading has given me the opportunity to hit some forgotten ebooks on the old Kindle. I will get to them all someday.
    4) I cut my hair. It looks pretty good, if I do say so myself. But I do have to do some trimming this morning to catch a couple wonky bits.
    5) I just got an email from Amazon about Silver’s upcoming release. Squee because I got it. Sniffle because I can’t get it until July.

Those cookies look awesome! As does the car. :) Wiz’s Giants are doing about as well as my Cardinals. Ah well. It’s a long season, right? I want a massage! And awwww, thanks BE! COWGIRL’S BABY was a tough one to right but I really like the way it turned out. :)

    So, my 5:

    1. So…Word FUBAR’d again, in the middle of typesetting edits. Up late again on the laptop so carpal tunnel is kicking up. No fun, but Mr. Ed is happy. Final went back to him earlier this morning. Now I get to figure out how to uninstall/reinstall Word on my Office 365 subscription. *sigh*

    2. The weather is beautiful!

    3. We’re meeting the kids for lunch tomorrow. Liam is getting too cute! We may also look at replacement vehicles for LG (he’s still fighting with the insurance over the $$ they’re allowing for totalling the truck).

    4. I got all my credit cards paid off. Yay! *knocks on wood that another crisis doesn’t hit*

    5. I may actually cook a real dinner for tonight–non- crockpot, non-quick.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

B.E., I’ll let you know the cookies if I can make time for them.

    1) You saved the bird, that’s awesome. I’ve only had that happen once that I can remember.
    2) Ugh on the floods! Hope you don’t get anymore rain.
    3) I have so many books buried on my Kindle, I really need to Goodreads to track them better.
    4) I’m impressed that you cut your own hair!
    5) I hate waiting too. And yay on Silvers book!!

Hope you have a great weekend!

    Silver, I pre-ordered Cowgirl’s Baby :-)

    1) Freaking unbelievable on Word! I’m so sorry, I hope you can get it uninstalled and reinstalled. Really sorry about the carpal tunnel too. I know the pain too well.

    2) :-)

    3) Liam is growing up so fast! Bummer on insurance. I hope LG wins on the payout amount, and you guys find the car you want.

    4) AWESOME on paying off your credit cards!!

    5) I hope you and LG have a delicious home cooked meal. (FYI–I love the crock pot!)

    Have a great weekend!

Those cookies look great. Let us know how they turn out.

I’ve had therapeutic deep tissue massage on my shoulder/arm. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me. I sure hope it does for you :).

    Love Wizard’s car!

I’m sure you’ll kick those edits right out.

I hope you take time to relax and hang in the pool. It might help that arm.

    Have a good weekend!

Viki, I want to try the cookies, but my edits are going slow (stupid shoulder), so we’ll see. Wizard is very willing to help me.

Are you going to see a chiropractor? I wish I could help with your shoulder/arm. I just feel so bad for you. For myself, I’m determined to think positive for two weeks and really try, then we’ll see if I’m getting results.

It’s suppose to turn cold and rain here, so no pool, but the cooler weather will be nice.

What’s going on with your water leak? I hope you were able to find and fix it.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hey Jenn –
I’m not surprised that Wizard is a big help. He’s such a good guy :).

No to the chiropractor right now. I’ve never been to one and am afraid. I know it sounds stupid but one horror story is enough to scare me off.

We have never found the leak. It happened twice but we couldn’t isolate it. I think it came from the overflow of the bathtub youngest son likes to soak in. My theory is the washer at the overflow pipe connection has gone bad. We haven’t let said kid soak in that tub since last Friday and we have had no leaks either. I’m calling my handy guy about a couple things next week and I’ll ask him about this then as well.

Seems strange that it’s cooled down there. Sorry you can’t use the pool. But you do get to enjoy the nice weather. It’s been VERY cool and really wet here ;). People are complaining. I tell them it’s called Spring :).

Hope your arm lets up and you can get through the edits and take some time off for yourself.

    Have a nice evening :).
